July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

I also want to give a big welcome to needalatte and disneynut1955 (David).

Vanvmom - since I am at work most of the day, Wendy has done some phone work for us. She did make two Palo reservations for us - she used her name for one reservation and her husband's name for the other one - this was for brunch.

Looking forward to an updated list Jim. Need to get ready for work. Will check in later. Have a great day everyone.

Welcome to Disneynut1955 (David) :earsboy:

Is the dress code at Palo's the same for brunch and dinner? The men in my group will have jackets, but I know they won't want to put them on unless I tell them it is necessary?

Have a great day everyone and a great three day weedend!

Angie

Jgiants, thanks--there's always room for one more. Of course, put enough kids in my room and I may be sleeping on the deck :goodvibes ! Your 12 year old boy should fit right in with our 9, 10, and 11 year old boys. Does anyone out there have a 13 year old?

I tried to make a res for Palo for brunch for four, but it wouldn't let me. I could reserve for two, though. I assume that means there are no more reservations available for four people for brunch???

I saw on another thread that people were charting out their possible dinner rotations. How does that work? Do you repeat some restaurants, can you choose which/what order, and what happens on shore days or Palo night if you miss one of the restaurants--can you go there another day?

Thanks!

I forgot about the dress code for Palo brunch - we have only done dinner. Does anyone know if the dress code is the same as it is for the eve?

We have decided on Supershuttle to get us to Best Western from Airport. We have reserved a van from Best Western to pier next morning.

We need suggestions for transportation from Pier to Fairfield Inn. Help.

Will also call Fairfield to see if they recommend anyone from Fairfield to airport on check-out day - unless someone can also suggest someone.

We just ordered our DL 3 day hopper today too

I can't believe all the work that get's put into a vacation. We will need a vacation after this. Thanks everyone.

wdw,
XLT wears a collered shirt and nice pants for brunch. I usually wear a skirt and a blouse. Brunch is not nearly as "formal" as dinner.

On our October cruise, we had a DIS friend who had the Roy suite. Disney went "all out" for his party.....you're in for a treat!

Hope everyone is having a great Friday! YEAH! XLT should be home tonight!!!

Not sure about what transportation costs would be like from the Pier, but the last time we flew into John Wayne Airport (for those unfamiliar, it is the one in Santa Ana - about 30 minutes from DL) and needed transportation to the Anaheim Convention Center there were shuttle vans EVERYWHERE! Cost was $7 per person. When time came to travel back to the airport, the hotel we stayed at called a cab for us that cost $35 (we had 8 in our group). The cab was actually a guy with a suburban who ran his own independent cab service. These are just some cost examples for those who are budgeting... so that you can see if you are getting a good value.

Still trying to book canopy tour... hubby likes the north area tour because the photos show people in helmets. None of the places we've found show pier pick up locations for their shuttles. For those of you who booked it through canopytours-vallarta, where are you meeting the shuttle, and what time do you have to be there? Was 10 the time you are meeting the shuttle, or the tour time (and you meet the shuttle earlier)? Yes, sometimes after chasing my children around on too little caffeine I get confused. :teeth:

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to get serious about cruise packing! Looks like I have to find a way to sneak in some sweatshirts for DD and me, before XLT notices. :rolleyes1

Welcome to Vanv and needalatte! :wave2:
Welcome back to Legalbriefs! :wave2:

Vanvmom, I'm not sure if anyone answered your Palo ? I just quickly skimmed the last few posting......but yes, men do need a jacket for Palo. Also, may I suggest that you order 2 chocolate souffle's when you are asked. (Just my opinion) :goodvibes

Everyone have a great Friday!
Anna, here's wishing you warmer weather :wizard:

Now if you are a fanatic for the chocolate souffle's, like we are, they can be ordered at every meal through your rotation, if you want them. Last year I believe we had them every night but the first night. You have to coordinate this through your servers, who have to coordinate it through the head waiters, who then have to coordinate it through Palo's. For those that have not had them, they are to die for...I am drooling all over my keyboard as I am typing this!

Also, for those that do not know, one can also order the Mickie shaped (head only) ice creams...vanilla inside chocolate coating outside. Treat for the young and old kids! I surprised a lot of people last year when I requested one and they brought it out. "Where/How did you get that?" was asked many times until I had finished eating it.

Hmmmmmmm.... chocolate souffle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know most of you are gone for the weekend (we stayed in town - oldest son returning from Washington DC field trip Saturday night), but I have another canopy question. We submited a request through the link others have provided (and of course mentioned all of you in hopes of being with the same group). How long did it take before you heard anything? Not that we're anxious or anything... :cool1:

Vanvmom......I sent the email one afternoon and got a response back the next day. It would be fun if we could take over the whole tour. Lets hope you get in.

needalatte and Disneynut1955 welcome to the party. I cannot wait to hear more about Ron's cruise this week. I see that he has already started a live thread.

needalatte......be careful what you wish for :rotfl: We have a 13 year old. You are welcome to adopt him for the week. Just kidding, he is a good kid, pretty low maintanance. If you need to know anything about the ship he is the one to ask, after "exploring" it for 4 cruises he knows it pretty well.

Hope everyone has a safe weekend

Dave

needalatte IS pretty brave Dave, she already has her pick of my kids on any given night of the cruise (what a good friend). :cool1:

Thanks for the info, and I'll let you guys know if we'll be joining you on the canopy tour!

Welcome to all!

I've been lurking, and enjoying reading everyones posts. Jim, thank you for the cruise list. Your work in doing this is greatly appreciated.

Is anyone going to the Magic sail away tomorrow? My daughter and I want to go see it. It is her birthday, when she will actually turn 23. I've read on the live thread that Ports 'o Call is the place to watch it from. I used to go there quite a bit as a kid, but haven't been there in years. If anyone is going and wants to meet up, let me know. My email is: judalyne@earthlink.net

I've been checking our cruise everyday on the DCL website and today they finally posted our stateroom number. We are in room 6500, which is a wheelchair accessible room. Anyway, it's an upgrade for us...we paid for Cat. 10, but this is a Cat. 8 room. We'll see, though, they might need it for somebody else.

Happy Memorial Day to all! Judy

Jualyne, Congrats on the upgrade. I would love to go tomorrow, however just a little to far for me. They are going to have a party when the cruise ship leaves for the first time out of San Pedro.. Fireworks, Fireboats and much more. Have a great time, and let everyone down there know we are all coming soon. Jim

My Passporter arrived late this afternoon. It's been kind of crazy around here so I haven't even opened it yet - don't tell on me :goodvibes

Did anyone go to a Disney store today? They seem to have joined the bandwagon and they have "cheap" Americana like t-shirts like lots of stores are doing. They are only $5.00!!! There's four different ones - they all have a flag (a little muted, not real bold) on the front with a character's head shot over it kind of (sorry I'm not better at describing!). There is blue shirt with Mickey, red with Minnie, white with Donald, and grey with Pluto. There are baseball style hats - I only saw red/Minnie and blue/Mickey. I didn't think to ask if there was Donald and Pluto that just weren't unpacked yet. There are also flip flops - only one style - kind of red/white/blue with just Mickey I think. I need to go back. They hadn't gotten to all the boxes and they didn't have a couple sizes I needed out yet.

Needalatte - we have a 13 year old son too! Or, he will be on May 30th. He doesn't like cake - he's requested rice crispy treats with chocolate chips mixed in. I guess I can handle that!

Sherry

Judylne - as of now you are not too far from us - we are in cat. 8 and cat. 11 - I think 6515 and 6522 - not sure right now too early :)

My dd is almost 13 and Wendy's dd is 13 - I know I can get my dd to the meets - I am not sure about the older ones (follow mom around to meet up with people on-line? NO WAY - but I am sure he would love to see the Roy suite so if we can meet with Roy and Legalbriefs there is a good chance my sons and Wendy's sons will come for the "tour" and hopefully meet others their age.

If anyone does finally get to see the Magic arrive or leave today - would love to hear all about it.

Waiting for DL tickets now and almost done with ground transportation/pick-up and drop off. We should of stayed in DL before the cruise. The expense of two rooms at BW and all the pick-ups is getting ridiculous for an overnighter.

Below is a little more information on us as well:

I am 33 years old and from Scottsdale, AZ. Ron and I are at the 8:30 dinner seating. Our shore activities are:
PV - Nothing planned, MZ - Tequila, Saddles and Huaraches, CSL - Sportfishing Excursion.

Thanks!

Gret Job Jim

If you updated in the future.

We have early seating (as does Wendy - AOPI57)
DH - 46 Me, 44 (tomorrow 5/29 :cool1: )

Just in case you updated again - who knows, some new cruisers might find us.

I would like to print the updated list - but with all the problems I am having with my computer, not easy to do. (Wendy is also experiencing problems and cannot post half the time).

Dave, Thanks for the additional info I will add it to the list for the next post.

Anna, I could e-mail you the list as an attachment. You can sent me a private message with your e-mail address. The list is maintained on a word document.

Jim
