A drive-in? How cool. I haven't seen a drive-in in many years. We wanted to take ds to a A&W drive-in restaurant and finally did a month ago. They don't have service to the cars anymore. :confused3

It is fun to go to the drive-in. $20 per carload. Their concessions are very reasonable - or bring your own. You do have to time it w/the weather - they're open April to Oct; in May you have black flies :p :p and in the summer it can be quite humid, we love going early or late in the season when you need a blanket :)

Wow, we don't have any drive-ins left! :sad2: Ours were never that cheap! It was still almost the same price per head as the regular movie. The last one closed in Omaha probably 10 years ago. :confused3

Deb- Alexa will be home from dance camp late Saturday afternoon. I've only been able to talk to her for about 30seconds each night! :guilty:
They work so hard! She's with her high school dance team. It's a requirement they go! From the day school gets out until they are done with camp, no vacations! They say in the try-out information, "if you won't be here, don't try out" Yikes!

I'll be glad to have her home! Until she turns back in to a normal teenager that is!! :rotfl:

The bra shopping did not go so well today! :furious: I did come home with a strapless that I'm not thrilled with but it'll do! By that time, I just grabbed anything and was ready to leave!

I had a shower to go to today. Left DH in charge of ds's t-ball end-of-the-year party. DS5 felt sick and they went home. DS wanted licorice. DH gave him my SUGAR FREE diatetic licorice. Two pieces give me the trots and ds ate the WHOLE package. Poor kid. Gave him childrens immodium to help with the gas. The gas and #2 coming out of this kid brings me back to diaper days. EWWW.

Ok, I had to push us back up. We were falling to the second page.

Well, another dream.....this time we were in a dingy trying to rush to get on the ship. The "captain" of the dingy just wasn't going fast enough and we couldn't seem to catch up! :confused3

Do you think I'm a little anxious for vacation :Pinkbounc you'd think I'd never been on DCL before :) :)

Poor ds! I sure hope he feels better by tomorrow!

LOL!!! :lmao: You just can't get good dingy captains these days! :rotfl2: :sail:

I found my Husker shirt today! :cool1: I was picking up some things right across the street from my favorite Husker store :thumbsup2 , and just had to stop in! I still have a bunch of things on my list, but forgot the list at home. Typical! :sad2:

Hey everyone!! :wave2: Looks like we have been busy posting these last few days: I had a lot of reading to do to catch up!! :surfweb:

Mattmommy: ooohh, don't envy you at all! :sad2: Hope this will be a quick thing for DS....and for you too. Not fun at all. Poor little guy.

Got Melissa off to DC today: Lisa you are so right about not having them home! It is awful quiet around here right now!! I heard from her once when she got there, and havn't heard a peep since! I know they're keeping the kids really busy, so I guess she's having a good time or I would have heard. Goodness: I guess this is what it'll be like when she goes to college!! It's gonna take some getting used to I think!!

Anyway, chiming in late on the pirate attire again. Melissa actually has a cute pseudo-pirate/tropical outfit that we picked up in NYC. It is a skirt (black with colored stripes) and a really neat sort of peasant tank top. It is perfect, but "in-style" too, so I know she will wear it again :thumbsup2 ........which is pretty cool.

Had to chuckle about whoever mentioned about clothes being all over their couch. Mine are starting to fill the guest bedroom: strewn everywhere, in "organized" piles.....at least organized to me!! :lmao: The list of "things I still need to buy" is growing: I now have it on the kitchen counter and we add to it every day. I told Melissa and DH that I am giving them a cutoff date, and if they think of something after that date, they get it themselves!! I so don't want to be making mad dashes to Walmart the night before we leave!!!

Oh my!! We leave for WDW in 18 days!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Ahhh yes! The guest room! :thumbsup2 No one dares to go in there anymore!!! My DH is so sick of trying on clothes! When ever I say "hey do you have a minute?" he knows he's in trouble! I just need to make sure everthing fits! Is that asking too much!! :confused3
I tell them both all the time, I paid for this cruise and I pack for DH and I, so just make me happy till it's time to go! If I did not pack for him, who knows what would end up in the suitcase! :rotfl2:
Thank goodness Alexa is old enough to pack for herself!

Speaking of Alexa, she got home from dance camp around 3:30pm today!
I was so happy to see her! They had alot of fun and learned an awful lot!
They'll be ready for the first couple of football games in the fall!
She obviously did not miss US near as much as she could not wait to go see her BF!! :sad2:

My list is growing also! I just realized I'd probably better get stuff like Tums, cold medicine etc...........

LOL Lisa about Alexa and her boyfriend!! :rotfl: I know exactly what you mean! Melissa was far more sad to be leaving her DBF than us! As a matter of fact, I think in many ways she was glad to be away from us for a bit!! ;) She is already wondering how she is going to manage not being able to talk to him for a week while at DC, and then again on the cruise.... 'Course she can talk to him by texting from her cell phone, but then would need a small fortune to pay the cell phone bill later......... :sad2:

Aaah, young love. :cloud9: Hard to believe we were ever that young and in love once, isn't it???

Nancy - when Brianna went for her week in DC she called at night for about 3 minutes! Like you said, they're busy all the time. My sister lives in MD so I was comforted knowing someone would be close by if she needed them.

Lisa - glad to hear Alexa's home - is she all set for the cruise or do you now have to take her shopping? You're so right about us missing them more - when Brianna was away she walked in the door for the first time and I'm all kisses and hugs....she's was "Hi Mom"!! :)

Well, today could be "misery loves company" I am taking DH to get some clothes for the trip. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I finally got him to go through some of his clothes Friday night and of course he doesn't have much of anything - wait, let me rephrase that - he thinks his clothes are fine, I think NOT :sad2: . He does this to me every time - we'll be ready to go on vaca and he'll need some decent clothes.

Wish me luck :thumbsup2

Sheila

Jim does the same thing with me! He'll say "stop buying me clothes! I have enough" Uhhhhhhhhh have you LOOKED at your clothes!!! :confused3 I think not!
ANd no, I don't think Alexa will have to do any shopping! She's pretty much done! Now once she starts packing, she'll think of SOMETHING she needs I'm sure! I could not get off that easy!

Ahhhhhh yes, we've had that cell phone discussion! I told her she could talk to him on the cell in Key West but that would be it until we got back! I could do the internet package and she could text him that way but I don't want her spending all her time doing that but I also don't want a miserable 15 year old on the cruise with me either!!! :sad2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: I am SO GLAD I'm not alone!!! I just had this fight a few weeks ago with my dh! The only thing I have left to do for him now is to buy some new dress socks, and pick up his shirts and jacket from the cleaner!

DS is better, thank you. We're taking him and his cousin to see Mr. Ray. He's like the Wiggles of NJ.

Found DH's pirate pants from his Captain Hook costume of a few years ago. Yea!. DH is going crazy buying accessories/batteries/memory/lcd covers, etc. for his new camera. Getting a box ready to mail down.

Aunt Jackie is having nightmares too!!! She dreams that she forgot to pack her Granddaughter Ariana's(6) pirate costume and they were both crying.

Then she dreams of my Grandmother sitting on the dock as we sail away because we forgot to buy a ticket for her. (Grandma's been gone a few years).

DH is going crazy writing papers. He's almost done year one of two for his Masters degree. Company pays if he gets a b or better. He's got a 4.0 so far. Last paper is due June 28th--ACK--20+ pages.

Have to cut out my paint chip Mickey's for our doors and work on door signs. Chow.

DH and I just had that same discussion last night. I was planning to just do maybe an hour of internet, as I have a business that I would like to check in with a couple of times. Not too much as this is a vacation!! :cool1:

Melissa thought she would have internet time, and was pretty upset when I wasn't going to provide it for her, because as you say, I don't want her spending all her time doing that!! :surfweb: But, I agree: we won't have much of a vacation with a miserable teenager either!! :sad2: So I am actually thinking about splitting the cost of the package with her: the cost for one hour is half the cost of unlimited, and it is much less than her portion of her cell has been lately!! :scared1: That way, she can have access for free time, and hopefully SHOULD be too busy most of the time to want to use it....

And as for DH: it must be a male thing. Been having the same conversation for weeks, "no, I'm fine". This morning: "Gee I guess I could use some new shoes...". Now, I am definitely going to sit him down tonight to check EVERYTHING, because I think I see which way this is going to end up if I don't.... They just don't think like we do!! ;)

Nancy - You actually trust your dh to check his own clothes? :lmao: Not a chance here!! He would always say it's fine. NOT!!

Oh crap, now he wants to cut up a pineapple for me! :scared1:

We didn't even tell my DH and DF that jeans were an option for dinner. Their jeans are baseball park ok, but not cruise worthy. And don't get me started on DF. You can tell what he ate, but what stains he has on his shirt. Ok, he is legally blind, but still.... I bought one Tide to Go. DH said to go buy another.

Trying to decide how many mini-DVD's we need. Bringing 2 onboard with us and mailing about 5. We never bring them on water excursions so that cuts out quite a bit of our time. Medicines. We always bring a little of everything. First two times we took DS5 to WDW he had the runs towards our last day (4 months and 6 months). We figured out it was because we used FL water to make his formula. On the cruise at 6 months he was fine. The water is sooo much better on the ship.

Do they still only have bottled Evian?
