JULY 19 Cruisers- Less than 3 WEEKS now Yipee!

Yep. Getting exciting. We booked our excursions this morning!!!!

Has anyone made any plans for Grand Cayman? We still haven't booked any excursions yet.

We have chosen the Nautilus Undersea Tour and Reef Snorkeling excursion. We thought this was a nice way to combine seeing the shipwrecks and reefs while allowing those of us who wished to snorkel to be able to snorkel at Grand Cayman, and those who did not want to snorkel will still be able to get a nice view of the ocean scenery.

is there going to be anything where we all meet? I was just wondering because that would be pretty neat.

If our group does plan to meet, I vote for meeting on the <b>second</b> day because the first day is <b>REALLY</b> hectic. By the time the safety drill is over, people who have the first seating time for dinner need to start getting ready. We tried to meet fellow DISrs on the first day of our last cruise and it didn't work out very well because everyone was either trying to find their way around the ship, getting settled into their rooms or getting ready for dinner. Plus, if children want to make some new friends on the cruise, it's better to get them into the clubs on the first day. That's when most friendships are formed and it becomes more difficult to meet new people afterwards. So parents will be scrambling around getting that taken care of too.

My DD10 would also like to make some new DIS friends before our cruise. If anyone has a DD around the same age who would like to do the same, please email me.

My DD10 met 3 girls this way last year and she was happy to get a head start on making new friends. They hung out the whole time on the cruise and had a blast.

We weren't planning to do an excursion on Grand Cayman but not thinking of doing the Snorkeling in STingray City. Not sure whether we will book it thru DCL or on our own?? May go to Mr Sanchos in Cozumel on our own, either by cab or rent scooters. Depends on how far it is...anyone know the driving distance by cab to Mr Sanchos? Not sure as we also thought we might rent the scooters in Key west for couple hrs and just explore. We have older kids so it's easier to do that sort of thing, 3 boys, 11 1/2, 15 and 17 1/2.....3rd cruise but first time on Western.

we arent real big on excursions. the only thing is I really wanted to do the fury catamaran boat party. that really sounded fun. I remember last time thats how a lot of kids met. 56 days!!! oh, I still dont know, are we all going to meet anywhere?

Looks like we haven't gotten any replies to the DIS meeting idea. I think there may be a bigger response as we get closer to our sailing date.

We haven't booked any excursions yet either, but like you all, we'll probably do more on our own this time around.

We are both writing back and forth now, so that's really cool. It sounds like we've got a lot in common, we both really like sports. There is a three on three basketball tournament that we will have to think about joining. My bro and I are both hoopsters. I was suprised, I would have thought that there would have been more interest in the meeting place too. I have seen so many things are meeting on other cruises, I guess we will just have to wait a little. But I think it would be great to meet after talking so long on these boards.

Anyone staying at Radission Port Canaveral the night before the cruise? I know it's a popular place to stay,I think we'll do that and I figured it would be great if at least some of the kids staying there could meet at the pool or something before the cruise and get to know each other

We are staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise. I booked my reservation about 10 days ago. The other day I decided to call our TA to see if she could get a better deal there, and when she tried they were booked (at least for a room that would accomodate the 5 of us).

I'm not sure when we'll arrive -- we are going to take a leisurely drive down to FL from NC... We may try to get there early and go over to Cape Canaveral.

A meet before we get on the ship sounds great We should know our schedule soon.

Bobbi, Wow they're booked already?...I'm glad we booked our room last September! We are a family of 5. We stayed there once before and it worked our well. Arrived late also but got a really nice suite for the night...too bad it was only one night.

Hi catjammies- Don't know if you saw my post on the previous page,I have a 5 yr old DD,also if you haven't gotten a response yet, I know Chandler is a boy(my 13 yr old DS and Chandler's 13 yr old big sis, are emailing )

Bobbimom- Glad our kiddos are emailing,they should have fun when they actually meet! Sounds like we may be doing some of the same excursions as your family.

We are also going on the July 19th Magic cruise. Our family is me, DH, DD13, DD10. Also joining us is my sisters family, her & her DH, DD10, DD8. My Mom is also cruising with us for her first cruise. We booked excursions for Key West & Grand Caymen. Plan to do our own at Cozumel but we did book our DD13 on the Teen Fury Cruise in Cozumel. Did anyone else book their teens on this excursion?
We will be at the Radisson the night before. We are arriving from Hilton Head so should be checking in there early.

Hey!!I am 15 so I will probably see your daughter at Common Grounds. I really want to do the Fury Catamaran Cruise. My brother and I would have a blast. I remember from the last time we went that a lot of kids met doing the Teen Party. We havent booked it yet because I would rather wait until the day of because there might not be a lot of kids going, or we might do something else. But if things work out, I would want to do it. Where in Michigan are you from? All my dad's family is from Allen Park, and they now live there and in Muskegon and Farmington Hills. My dad went to Michigan State, so I hope you are a Spartan fan (wink wink)
