July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Hoping to hit Alaska in 2011, probably late July. We've been with Holland America. LOVED IT! But that was pre-kids. Now we need to do it for the kids. Just gotta decide if I'm going to forego my Christmas cruise or my Transatlantic....

Very cool.............after mulling this over, i've decided that our trip in 2007, was so special, so doing another Med with some new and some favorite ports will be ideal! Still deciding dates............

Nope, not giving up my grown-up cruise in February! The other cruise boards are buzzing with the possibility of bringing an RCCL ship to Galveston, year-round . The talk ebbs and flows and picked back up again. Hopefully, an announcement will be soon.

Can't help talk you into it - my dream Alaska trip doesn't involve a large ship on any cruise line. We still haven't heard back from John's parents. If they are interested, we'll do a family trip. I still think they are waiting for the Dream details.

A week off from band - well, not exactly, just no football game this week.

I picked up Maggie from school yesterday, she was feeling blah - hopefully, it's just "I didn't get enough sleep at a sleepover and I didn't take a nap on Sunday" run down. Yesterday, she wasn't running a fever, but I'm letting her stay home today.

Although Tom & I plan to revisit the Med in the future, I wouldn't want to do it again so soon. I also know that it will NEVER be as special as the 2007 cruise and that even though I know that, I will be disappointed, nonetheless. We've also tried to make an effort to check more things off our "bucket list", trying not to revisit where we have been. There are 4 new stops on the Med, but I'm hoping that once the Magic is based there in 2012, they may expand that itinerary and maybe add Venice, Greece, etc. I absolutely want to revisit Barcelona, Florence, Rome, etc. but I also want to try something new and different. Make any sense??? It's been a long day.

I haven't been on in a long time. We just booked the June 14,2011 Alaska cruise. Now that my last one has gone off to college we're a little more flexible with dates.I'm hoping to do short Dream cruise,too. I think we'll return to the Med in 2012.

It's too bad we won't be on the same cruise. I hope we can cruise together again sometime.

OMG! I was just thinking that I hadn't logged on in a while. Yeah, like a month!! I can't believe it's been that long! However, I am glad to see it's still alive!

Congrats to those of you who have booked the Med and Alaska. I can't say that either of those really "rocked my world!" We will stick to WDW for summer 2010 and think about 2011 much later!

Mark and I made a trip to WDW last month. He was there a week with work and I jumped in for four nights. We stayed two nights at the Gaylord Palms. What an AMAZING place! Highly recommend it. We loved the Key West area. Brought back wonderful memories of our first trip on the Magic! The remaining two nights at BWV. My only complaint about the trip? Everytime I put my swimsuit on it started pouring down rain!I quit trying....

I did want to share with all of you some news.... Some of you might remember my mother in law who went with us on the cuise. She rode around on her little scooter?? Three weeks ago we received a call that she discovered her husband, Mark's father, had passed away in his sleep. TOTALLY unexpected! We still cannot believe it happened. Despite all the grief, she is doing amazingly well. But, with a loss comes a special gain, and Mark's sister delivered a healthy baby boy at 1:07 a.m. this morning. Miracles do happen............

School is going well, despite my having missed 20% of the days already!But , my families have been amazingly supportive which is a relief! My kids are neat too!
