July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

I'm here. Last week, I finished up a special project for the Houston ymcas, conducting safety and records audits of the local pools. Maggie and I then boarded a plane for Oregon on thursday to spend 5 days in Portland visiting a cousin and an aunt. It's been a fun, yet bittersweet visit. My aunt is 88 with alzheimer's. This is a favorite aunt, Maggie is named after her. We have had plenty of time to wander and enjoy Portland. We fly home tommorrow.

I forgot to add John and I enjoy rccl. It's not Disney, but when it's just the two of us, we're more into the relaxation part than the excitement of a Disney cruise. Living 30 minutes from the port of Galveston is a huge plus!!!

If anyone wants to try rccl with a fun group of people, join us on the Voyager February 21. It's a western itinerary: Cozumel, costa Maya and roatan, Honduras. Like dcl's eastern 3 sea days usually 2 at the beginning and one at the end. We'll provide the balcony for sailaway party. It's a huge aft balcony

I don't know who got me started, but I have been reading "Dear Miss. Mermaid's" blog since we got back. She is the woman that lives in Tortola. She has been in the hospital for a little over two weeks I think. It has been interesting reading. There are days I'm not sure if she in a hospital or a prision?

we'd love to - but alas - we are in school - but our next cruise will be with rccl out of galveston..... looking at maybe the last week of 2010....

:lmao:I knew that, but sometimes we teachers are tempted to call in sick!!!
Life doesn't just happen during the summer and school breaks, right?

I am fortunate. Our school corp. gives us DAYS! No distinguishing sick/personal! It's awesome! My kids are rarely sick, so I do some short trips once or twice a year! I feel blessed!

It's been crazy here getting ready for school to start next week. We have been trying to fit in all those last minute appts.

My recent news...........got caught in the car in a tornado, literally. I AM NOT joking! The car rocked side to side. Loud roaring over us. Scared us (Mallory and me) to death! A wooden sign got thrown into the back of my car and did a few thousand $ damage. Honestly, I am thankful we weren't hurt! It could have been much worse.

We will be at WDW Sept. 10-14 and again March 13-20. Anyone else there then besides Marcy and Greg??? Lucky guys!!!!:dance3:

Yikes on the tornado experience...:scared1:

Considering WDW that week in March- it's spring break. We got quotes before I left last week. Although, Maggie wants to go back to Portland.

Sry, but I switched things over today............:confused3..........this way two of the girls may go.........keep us in mind for your next Adventures by Disney!!:thumbsup2

We'll miss you, but I understand. We'll see you at our next Dis Minimeet (maybe in Dec. like last year?) We're looking at Peru in 2011, I'll keep you posted.

Wow, that is scary. Thank God you are all OK. It's facinating to watch on TV but I can't imagine actually experiencing it. :scared1:

WOW...that was some experience about the tornado. Glad everyone is okay.

We too are getting ready for school. My DS got his schedule that we now have to try and get fixed. He has two of the same histories but no math. :confused3

DH and I will be at WDW Sept. 30 - Oct. 4 for the Food and Wine Festival. This is our first time, and we are so excited. Spent yesterday trying for all the reservations we wanted. We got "Party for the Senses- Comfort Foods with a Twist" and "Sweet Sundays." Bobby and Jamie Deen (Paula Deen's sons) were unexpectedly switched to our weekend so now we are seeing them make lunch and get to eat it. I'm very excited about this. We also have the "Backstage Magic" tour scheduled and plan to go to the Halloween Party too. Lots to do in a little bit of time. The goal is to do things we normally can't do at other times of the year or do things the children can't do (like drink) because they aren't old enough.

Made it through the oatmeal didn't think anything could be worse but i was proving wrong this morning when I had to drink barium yuck. I love it when the radiologist doing the scans starts saying well that's interesting but then tells you nothing my Dr is supposed to call me tomorrow with results. Five more days left of our school year then two work days and we start another one. I'm ready for some of these kids to go on to another school.

Lissa

:grouphug:to Jenny & Mal for their violent weather experience......

I can't talk about getting ready for school yet.......still have less than two weeks to go..........

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed RCCL. I'm sure my DS abd DDIL will enjoy it.

We booked the 8/3 Wonder trip.......KW, Nassau, CC........it should be fun and we'll probably do something at WDW prior to it........:cloud9:

We're thinking of the same cruise or the 8/17 5 day. We'll have to see what dates will work.

You'll really enjoy the F&W. We went 2 years ago for the first time and really liked it. We were hoping to go down this year but we have 2 family weddings in Oct. I'd rather be at the F&W!
