July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Well, now that we'll have passes again, we will! Of course, only Greg will have an annual pass and the rest of us will have seasonal passes, so you may be stuck with just him.

I have to admit that we manipulated our kids today. We took a secret family vote on November cruise versus Disney passes, and it was a tie. After a pow wow with the girls and me, the girls changed their vote. Hmmmm. I probably shouldn't ever be a mediator.

They are getting two nights at the DisneyWorld Hilton next weekend plus 2 days at the water parks out of it, though, so they can't complain too much.

It's really the best option, I think. Especially with our vacation planned for next year (You know, assuming I graduate... :) ). Plus, I think Abs was so young she doesn't remember everything about the parks, and maybe now she's appreciate it a bit more. That's my theory, anyway. :)

Next year it looks as if we won't even get near WDW. (My DH just laughs.) We are schdeuled to go on RCCL's Oasis. I hope I can do this with an open mind and not do the comparing bit of RCCL vs DCL.

This is actually very probably our next cruise line. It won't be the same, but the options are much more open (and MUCH cheaper) for the locations we want to go to next year. For the Caribbean, most of the ports feel VERY similar for me, and the reason I go on a cruise is because I want to enjoy the *ship*, and there's no better ship than Disney ships in my humble opinion.

We've been on RCCL a couple of times before, and really loved it (though our last trip was a little less than spectacular thanks to lots of smoking, and mediocre food and service). It's not the same as DCL, but they're still great, and offer up a LOT more options for places to stop (and it's a lot cheaper!). Plus, Disney hasn't changed their shows in a couple of years, so taking a break is probably a good idea to keep the trips fresh. And further, they've got the new ships coming out, and I have plans for getting on one of those soon after they launch. :)

I should also add that having park passes will allow me to hone my skills with the camera...

And for the sake of discussion, here's a picture of me eating delicious creme brulee. You can tell how good it is just by looking at it. Does anyone else have any delicious food pictures to share?

Morning All!

Yes, Lucy, let's keep this thread alive!!!!!!

It's been very hectic here. DD's MIL broke her ankle this week so it has been back and forth to the hospital as she required surgery she broke it so badly. That, compounded with cancer leisons on her bones from old breast cancer, it has been stressful to say the least. Right now they are working on getting her into rehab as she lives alone.

Other than that, I think everyone is just enjoying the last days of summer until school starts again. And for some school has probably started already so there is that routine that has to be worked out. Once Sept. comes, I'm sure more people will return as we all have fond memories of the cruise and some may begin planning for next year. We will be in WDW during President's week and we'll be sailing the Baltic on the Magic next summer. Anyone care to join JoAnn #1 and us?? We're on the - yep you guessed it- July 18th cruise. If it's anything like the Med, it was totally awesome. Funny, I don't feel the draw to sail anything but Disney, even with the Oasis coming soon. I'm sure the Oasis will be nice, but I know if we sail her, we'll just be comparing her to Disney. :cloud9:

Guess what I get to do next week. Eat radioactive oatmeal aren't y'all just jealous. Finally doing test to see if we can find out what is going on with my stomach.

We've looked at other cruise lines but none of them seem to appeal to us. I love Disney and I just can't imagine another line doing as good of a job.

Lissa

Formal night, and I couldn't get him to keep his mouth closed.

(I should note that, for some disgusting reason, we always seem to take pictures of each other showing food in our mouths. Some people were never meant to be parents.)

Ugh -- good luck. I hope they figure out what's going on.

I guess I shouldn't complaint about the pre-colonoscopy day of lime jello in light of your radioactive oatmeal. :confused3

Ok, we're still here.......DDs....one is bts, one is home for 2 more weeks and one is btw...........

We're still negotiating next year's cruise, unfortunately it's looking more like our Wonder 5day at this point...........

Oh no, JoAnn. The Baltic won't be the same without you and Ken. I figure that we can do that cruise anytime, especially that it will be based out of LA. But the Baltic, who knows if and when they'll ever do that one again, even if the Magic is based out of Europe.

Lissa,

Ugh, that sounds awful. Granted, I don't like Oatmeal anyway. :lmao::lmao:

Greg: that picture is simply disgusting!!!!!!!:scared1::scared1:

but more disgusting is eating oatmeal, any kind of oatmeal. I won't describe what happened in home economics (that's what they called this class in the olden days) when we made oatmeal and, then, had to eat it....it wasn't pretty and I haven't touched the stuff since. When the boys were babies, i couldn't taste it to see if it was too hot....the finger tested it!:lmao::lmao:

I know we are planning a long summer in WDW next summer:woohoo:......including Universal for 2 days, we are hoping and praying we get into BLT too:yay::yay:. We do have a five day booked, but may cancel, to wait for the new ship in the summer of 2012!:cool1:

You should come BEFORE summer, when all the tourists are gone. That's when Disney is the most fun. No waits on any lines at Disney or Universal, and it's cooler. Yeah. Definitely come in the spring. :)

Sry, but I switched things over today............:confused3..........this way two of the girls may go.........keep us in mind for your next Adventures by Disney!!:thumbsup2

Greg you are a hoot. What grade are you planning on teaching. Any kids would love having you, but you would be terrific on the elementary level especially.

I'm so sorry to hear about your DD's MIL. I hope she feels better soon.

I don't feel the draw to sail other cruise lines, either. My DS and DDIL are swailing RCCL trasatlantic in April. I'm looking forward to how he feels DCL ( he's done 5 DCL cruises) and RCCL compare.

Sry, but I switched things over today............:confused3..........this way two of the girls may go.........keep us in mind for your next Adventures by Disney!!:thumbsup2

We're thinking of doing a 5 day Wonder next year, too. which one did you book?

We booked the 8/3 Wonder trip.......KW, Nassau, CC........it should be fun and we'll probably do something at WDW prior to it........:cloud9:
