July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Taking Catherine this afternoon to get her drivers permit. With the cost of Drivers Ed and the increase to our insurance premiums AFTER all the discounts applied I may need to get a second job. :sad2:

It's really scary - our insurance is going up $1600 a year - sometimes I wish he had been a girl.:rotfl:

Matt got his drivers license today. :scared1:

Alex is going to get his this year also. I am so not looking forward to this. I am scared out my mind. I know he will follow all the rules, it's those other people that don't think rules apply to them that have me worried.

And the additionaly cost since he is a boy too. :scared1:

Is this in any way related to the four cases of ramen noodles that just arrived on our doorstep? :lmao:

Great, now I know where to send the extras my DH keeps buying for the camping trips that end up falling out of my pantry instead of being eaten. They are never eaten at home, although I do have a nice salad recipe that includes them. Too many. Maybe I can feed them to my DS's friends that are spending the night. (You would think after spending 3 weeks together they would be sick of each other?) They can eat a whole in a short amount of time. I guess I'll make another one in the AM? Boys...........I would kill for their metabolism.

Is anyone going to the Magic Meet in PA hosted by Allearsnet? Since we are home this year, I thought I'd go. My DH and DD decided to join me. Another day with crazy Mickey people. :goodvibes

I don't get it. :(

Cause you're telling us that we can't eat real food so we can use the money for a cruise... Oh, nevermind. It was much funnier in my head last night when I was really tired. :sad1:

I got it! :lmao: Of course, I usually say we're eating ramen noodles and peanut butter to save for our next DCL cruise.

I guess my brother and his family had a good time and really liked their cruise. My brother just sent me a teaser e-mail asking if the rate he was quoted off the DCL website for the 12/12 7 day western was a good deal. My kids will still be in school, but I can invite myself to go along...:lmao:

I just jumped on our travel agents website, she has a group deal for our anniversary week in October. Do you think the kids would mind if we went without them :lmao: my MIL was astounded the kids were so busy last January during basketball season when John and I last cruised alone. She'll think that was a breeze compared to our already full calendar for October. And that's just marching band and dance, it will be even worse if Maggie makes the jr. high volleyball team...:rolleyes1

See, Marcy?!?!? *She* got it. :-P

I'm still hoping for a Thanksgiving cruise, but the longer we wait, the more I'm afraid that it's going to be full by the time we commit. At which point I'm going to see about sneaking aboard...

Boy am I glad John lurks - he just IM'd me to ask how much, of course I was dense and couldn't figure out he was referencing my previous post of an anniversary cruise in October. Off to e-mail the TA before he decides to be responsible and talk budget :lmao:

We arrived home last Wednesday. The cruise was wonderful. We really enjoyed meeting some of you and getting reacquainted with others.

Now we start getting my DD and DS ( he's a senior so we just have to get his stuff out of the attic where we stored it for the summer) ready to go to college. We head back down to Fla. Aug. 26 to bring my DD to college.

Your the one who brought up budget!!!:rolleyes1

I also have 4 cd's left over (I let Matt deliver them) so if anyone didn't get one I can send it out.

I have no idea. Mine came from a DISer named "Beano" about three years ago. He sent out 2 CDs to anyone that wanted them. We've been listing to them ever since that time. I edited the list down to one CD, and I added the ship's horn. The last 4-5 pieces from the Castaway CD that they used to send out after your first cruise. I'm not sure if they do that anymore?

Thank you both so much for the CD's. We've never gotten a Castaway Club music CD like Greg has gotten, so these are the only Disney Music CD's we have!!!!!! What a great idea!

Matt got his drivers license today. :scared1:

Congrats Matt!!!!

My DD is going to Flagler College in St. Augustine. My oldest DS graduated from here in 2007.

My other DS goes to Monmouth University in New Jersey.

Ooo... Love St. Augustine. :) I'm currently finishing up a Humanities degree at UCF, and I know there's other associated with the board who are also going there. The pull of being close to Disney is a strong one. :)

I've decided that elementary school is overrated. The 4 of us could go on a September 2009 cruise to Tortola for $2400 in a Cat 9. Homeschooling is strating to look like an option.
