July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

The record holder for the most chairs thrown in a basketball game, I believe. :)

Ok - you have officially maintained your Indiana native status... :lmao: Complete with a name change, to Bob Knight, He is/was well loved at Texas Tech. I believe his son coaches for Tech now. On a side note, a HS friend of John's and mine played basketball for Evansville '85-89.

I haven't watched it in YEARS! But I've always thought it was brilliantly stupid... Are they making all new ones?!?!

No, they're showing reruns - but, it's still addicting. I wish I could find the old editions of "Super Market Sweep" those were fun too!

Well, this is an interesting idea.......that is actually our 30th anniversary date.......We have a Baltic cruise scheduled for next summer and a REPO but once again our kids schedules won't allow it, so we're really in a spot (we love our family cruises), I don't think this date would work either because two of them are in classes in July....ARGH!:scared:
We have a 12 day Baltic cruise scheduled too.... We're doing the June 12, 2010. Not sure how I'm paying for all of these.......

It's also our anniversary on the 07/11 - I figured Kristin and Nick would want to choose a later date - but thye liked the date.....

The kiddos are killing us with cruising. Every time Marcy finds a great price on a cruise I suddenly hear her cursing, followed by a, "ARGH! That's a week before the children are out on vacation!" I'm trying to figure out if I can yank them out of school and declare it a home schooling learning experience. :)

I know the feeling. Matt will be a freshman in college 2010. This will be the first trip in 14 years we didn't have to worry about school.

That's pretty cool,Virgil, that your child would have your anniversary.......

Usually, college makes booking trips easier but my second is in year-round grad school and my youngest has a 4 quarter program sophomore year. While I'm so proud of my kids, our schedules aren't together anymore, since I'm a teacher and only off while they're in school. I'm going to have to do some creative problem solving on this one.......I still think our family vacations create wonderful memories.....:cloud9:

Those were my exact high school years! :) I used to go to the university all the time to hang out with a couple of my best friends. None of them played basketball, however. :)

Bummer! Imagine what modern technology could do to animate a Whammy! :)

By about Thursday of every cruise, my DH wants to book again too.......it only takes a few days of Magic!!!:wizard::cloud9::lovestruc

Think we can save some $$$ if we rebook the Baltic on this cruise?????

Good luck to all travelling today.

JoAnn,

I enlarged the deck plans and just circled the room numbers once I printed them. I just emailed them to you.

Still up It is 11pm here. DS13 is stressing about starving to death on the flight tomorrow and is packing half the pantry into his backpack. We are leaving in 4 and a half hours. and still awake and drinking wine, guess i won't be taking the benadrile (sp?) to help me sleep tonight. Walked the extra 2 gallons of milk to the neighbors as well as the dozen red roses I rec'd for my anniversary (they had barely opened and were soooo beautiful Someone HAD to enjoy them!) Hmmm now what?

OMG DS13 is moving on to the frozen girl scout cookies...."will taga a longs melt in the airplane?" "No, Jimmy..." "what about thin mints?" Yes DD16 still in girl scouts but doesn't sell cookies so I just buy and freeze.

Ok begging DS13 to leave the hand warmers here (he is packing the pantry into his soccer backpack!)

really...is there nobody still awake out there....

LOL -- this string made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:

Where in Indiana did Greg grow up???? :dance3: How can you grow up in Indiana and not know a little about basketball?
I live a rough life as the only Hoosier in DH family! They are all Buckeye fans.........................

Well, it makes it worse because he married a New Yorker who went to Northwestern -- so I know way more about midwestern college basketball than he does. The first year of our relationship really was rough, but I chose him over basketball.

Very true Greg. Afternoon/evening launches are a bear! Going to Titusville is pretty cool. The rumble is amazing. I grew up in Titusville (not that I brag about that)...my parents live in the same house they did when the first shuttle flew back when I was in elementary school. They have had windows and walls crack from all the launches. For years before the first launch they would test with dynamite blasts. It is true...for landings...you never get use to the sonic boom. No matter how hard you prepare.....it comes and it scares you to death. I can't count the number of times I've reminded myself it was coming and two seconds later I still hit the floor! :rotfl:

The first time I heard the boom, I thought the world was ending. Seriously. It was 6 a.m. and I fell out of bed and ran outside to see where the bomb had hit.

My kids have actually physically injured people when the shuttle re-enters.

I wonder if Florida hospitals have kept track of sonic boom-induced heart attacks? Because I'm sure that's how I'm going.

It's that transatlantic cruise. It's killing me. I really am considering homeschool just so we can go on that cruise.

I still think we can make that trip happen. If you want, I'll gladly talk to the principal about it. They'll get more cultural education out of that trip than five years in the Florida school system. I really think there's a way to make it work...

And I always feel like I'm wasted on you. Most guys would kill to be married to a girl who likes basketball, and frankly I'd rather do laundry than be subjected to an hour of watching it. It feels wrong somehow. :)

Off to do dry cleaning, and the Gathering of Clothes That I Don't Like Wearing. The payoff is worth it, but only barely... One day, I'm going to become a fashion designer and make suits with short sleeve shirts and shorts popular. :)

Just a little North of Evansville, right near the tri-state tip. I know a little about basketball, like that it's round, and bounces, and I have to throw it through the hoop. Other than that, though... Nothing. :)

I grew up about 1 1/2 hours northeast of Evansville. Used to love to go to Mac's BBQ as a kid! Haven't been to E-ville in YEARS. My mother is from the Knox County area JUST north of Vincennes!

We LOVE Bobby Knight! We actually lived in the subdivision next to his when he lived in Bloomington. We took a trip to TTU the first year he was there. All because of a letter I wrote him we got to go to practice twice, he took DH out to dinner with a bunch of guys and I went out to dinner with his wife! Surreal experience............... Yes, Pat Knight is the coach at TTU.

U of E is a FANTASTIC school!

I can't keep up withyou guys. here in. Motown it's all about Red Wing Hockey and UofM. Tigers aren't doing so bad this year.

DD went to soccer camp today. sent 2 bottles of gatorade and 3 bottles of water. also made sure she wore a white shirt. let's hope tonight is better.

I know I am forgetting something to pack but I don't know what it is. I guess I'll have to do without.

I graduated from Bowling Green - I love hockey!! The MSU, U of M and OSU games were always great games. Can't get good hockey down here, even though we have some semblance of an almost pro team.

One of the major pieces of heat training ds14's band directors keep stressing is limit/no dairy in the morning when it's hot. 1st day of parade practice in 98+ temps, the band knew exactly who had dairy and who didn't...ewww...
