July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

We arrived home last night around 6 pm. I'm still exhausted but at least the house has stopped rocking. There was one point last night when I was walking in our yard that I almost fell over because of the rocking motion.

This cruise had some highs and lows for us. The best part was our table mates - Eeyore18, Karen, Lou, Brendan, Karly, & Irene. We really enjoyed having them at the table. Noah and Brendan got along very well. They are definately the best table mates we've had!!

Noah started feeling bad in Tortola and by the time we got to St Thomas he was down for the count. He tried to rally long enough to go to the butterfly farm but we didn't last long there before we went back to the ship. He was very sad about missing the Sea Trek helmet dive. Oh well, maybe next time. Around lunch time he did insist that I go shopping. DH had given me a nice budget for something Ammolite and Noah wanted a Del Sol shirt. I told him I didn't feel comfortable leaving him. He insisted that he'd be fine and that he REALLY wanted a shirt. So I went downtown and did some power shopping. I think I was only gone about 90 minutes! Bill returned from his golf excursion shortly after I had returned. He had a great day of golf.

In Tortola we did the Jeep Adventure and had a good time. It didn't really go "off road" which is what I had expected, but the Tortola roads are a bit rough so it was almost the same. The high light was the 90 minute stop at Josiah's beach. It was absolutely beautiful and all to ourselves. The only people there were the ones on the jeep adventure - about 18 of us. It was amazing.

This was the roughest seas we've ever encountered also. We've always cruised this time of year (Bill's birthday is the 18th and our anniversary is the 25th and we are usually on board for one of them). This may have contributed to Noah's illness. I'm still not sure what was wrong with him, he kept saying he felt like he was going to vomit but only did that once. We went up to Topsiders and the smell and rocking was all it took. I was surprised by the reactions of the CM's. The one at the drink station asked to stand to one side while she got help. (he was sick right by the door to go outside, there wasn't much since he hadn't eaten yet). A head server came over and said "You're alright - right?" and gave us a thumbs up. That was it. We took him back to the stateroom to rest.

The FE exchange was great! Thanks for all the amazing items! I was finally able to check out the CD's that were left and loved hearing the ships horn again. Thanks everyone!!

Found a different kind of Lion King on the Adult beach at CC....

nicholas did not contribute to the smell on board but took a whole dramamine which knocked him out....because of his medical stuff, just had to make sure he stayed hydrated and alert...once it was out of his system, he was fine and went to one-half of a dramamine after that the next day and then was fine with the ship's movement. Dont think he was quite 100 percent from the week before though, but we made it!! And yes, Greg, 15 hours...887 miles, excruciating!!!

Lucy..........I just realized that we were on the Aug. 2006 cruise together. I was looking for Part 2 of the Aug. 2006 thread since our tablemates had also traveled with us on that cruise, and the one we took in Aug. 2004, and came across your name. Small world.

I didn't even notice! Tisk, Tisk!!!:)

For shame! :sad2:

So when are we going to start seeing everyone's pictures?!?!?

I'm also throwing up a trip report. I'm very bad about paying attention to details, so it's a really no-frills report. But hopefully some of you might fill in some blanks for me? Cause... you know... You're all nice like that? That would be awesome. :cheer2:

Here is another interesting fellow from the same area:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why didn't I bring a waterproof camera!?!? WHYWHYWHY!?!?!

Those pictures are awesome... I've never even really seen any sealife snorkeling at CC. Marcy said she swam out really far and saw a ton up against the wall at the farthest point, but I never got to make it out to snorkel, myself. Maybe they're all hiding where the kids aren't? :)

Great shots!

I haven't even gotten to the camera yet, but am anxious to develop the one time use waterproof camera that I took. I am especially interested in the shots I took from my parasailing! I got the parasail time closest to the Magic! I tandemed with Mallory so hopefully my shot of her is good too!

I got some awesome shots from parasailers near the Magic. I wonder if you're one of them? You were tandemed the whole time?

heads up gang: BomaGreg started a trips report!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm loving the pictures! Since I'm non-techy, you will NOT be seeing any pictures from Lucy.....I'm enjoying everyone else's pictures...more, please.:worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:

I was thinking about starting an easy-to-use Photobucket account that's sealed with a password for privacy, but I wanted to get everyone's input on it, first. Is anyone interested in that sort of thing to share pictures?

Here's the linky for the report thread if you want to add anything... I'm horrible at remembering specifics, and can always use the backup. :)

Report Thread

Eeeegads! I shaved for the first time since... oh... the middle of the cruise, and there was, like, a second chin under there. Next time, remind me that I need to eat a lot more food... If I'm going to have a double chin, let's make it a good one.

Hey all, just back from NYC. We drove up on Sunday to meet MrsG and some DISers from the Med cruise including Helen and Dave from the UK. It was so cool to see them after two years. Some of the group are sailing in August on the Magic, so it was fun to share tips and highlights from last week's cruise. I will definitely write a trip report hopefully with pics when I wake up.

We ate at Tavern on the Green in Central Park and saw a bway show together. Very cool!:thumbsup2

Is anyone else as exhausted as I am today?
