It's been a long, long time since I've posted on this thread (page 13 looks like the last time). 2008 was just crazy and I lost track of things. We came very close to canceling this trip. My department restructured and I found myself looking for a job after 23 years with the company! With only 4 days of employment left I was offered a job in another department which a very gratefully accepted!! This was last fall. Thankfully we hadn't canceled our trip because it's back on now!!

Learning the new job has taken most of my time and energy. However, Santa (I LOVE him) gave our DS tickets to the bowl game our UW Badgers played in. It just happened to be in Orlando 2 days after Christmas!! So Christmas morning we hopped into the car and drove down to Florida! We left our house at 7 am with over 40 inches of snow and got as far as Chattanooga that night where it was a balmy 60 something. We were in heaven! While in Orlando the temps were in the 80's, the sun was always shining. The Badgers lost but we had a great time at the tailgate (all the beer and brats we could consume). We spent a few days at WDW staying at SSR and then drove back to Wisconsin arriving home on NYE. It was wonderful to see the Christmas decorations at WDW but I don't think we will ever go there again at Christmas time. The crowds are just too crazy. Makes our July trips seem like off season!

In January we became foster parents to a very nice 10 yr old boy. After much deliberation we sadly came to the conclusion that he will not be joining us on this trip. This makes it difficult to have many exciting discussions at home because we don't want to make him feel bad and left out. The biggest reason for him not coming is that, if things go well, he will be going back to his mother at about the time we'd leave for out trip. It's just too big of a financial commitment to risk him not being able to come and being back with his mother is more important.

Now we are gearing up for this summer, picking our excursions, Palo days, making plans for WDW. I hope you don't mind if I jump back in. So far for excursions we are planning the following: Tortola - DCL excursion to the Baths, St. Thomas - DH will go golfing, DS & I will go to Coral World on our own to do the Sea Trek. What are others planning?

Since I posted a few minutes ago I've been reading past posts - WOW!! You are all so organized and active. We are arriving at WDW on July 11th (I noticed others are as well). This will be a split stay for us which I'm not that crazy about but I'll try it. We are staying at AKV first then moving to SSR. We added points at AKV in December so we want to try it out. DH's niece and her 2 kids are going to join us for our WDW portion of the trip, DCL was too costly for her. On July 16th we are heading over to Cape Canaveral (late in the day) so we can go to KSC on Friday. We are staying at the Radisson (I noticed others are as well).

I would be interested in joining in on the FE fun if we can add this late in the game. Let me know please, and I'll understand if we haven't been around enough or too late to join.

Since I'm so close to the pirate - one more post! I found the nicest polo type shirt at Target today for DS, it's black with pirate skulls all over it! He will love it - well as much as an 11 yr old loves clothes....
