Welcome back!!!!!!!!!

Basically think of 10 things to tell us about you to get to know you better. I just threw in my astrological sign and for some reason that topic took off! We now have JoAnn keeping tabs on the "leader board" of astrological signs! She is also doing the Pirate names. Starwood is keeping roll call and Lucy is keeping track of something but I forget what it is now! OH, wait... the STATES that are represented!!! There are some really interesting ones, so if you have some time you should backtrack and read. Some are a really entertaining!

Houston ok? I know Monica said she had jury duty this week, yuck!

Wendy, when you get time, the 10 things are fun.....all about yourself, family, likes, etc. I'm really enjoying getting to know everyone - i'll make a word document of all of them when we have more!

Seems Hurricane Hanna may touch our area a bit this weekend - lots of rain.
Joann has a beach house in NJ and they will see alot more than we do in PA.

I'm following Verandah Man's report from the 5-day Magic - their last day will NOT be Castaway as they expected (they were there on their first day), they don't know where they are going on their last day - but as we all know, Disney Cruise Line WILL take care of them.

My girlfriend and her sister-in-law are also on the Magic right now. I just read Verandah Man's report. They sure are rocking out there. I'm know DCL will keep them safe.

My DH surprised me by booking the 3 day Magic, after drydock......
I haven't told many people, but I want to tell my new DISer friends here on the Tortola thread......I'm going to check "her out" for you guys - yes, it is a sacrifice, but someone has got to do it! (it WILL be a sacrifice if these hurricanes don't go away )....ok, do I get a response from SOMEONE?

The price was too good to give up, plus, 'she' will be brand new (almost)

(although, and I DO read too many threads, one of the moderators said on another thread not to count on this cruise ) - well, I AM - it is Disney, they know I'M COMING!

We saw a little bit of Hanna yesterday - the rain.....all day long, fortunately no winds, but about 10 miles from Kutztown, they believe some tornados touched down....NOAA checking it out today....oh, Houston, once again, watch out for Ike!

We're a little too far away to book a surprise three-day cruise - but it sounds like fun!

My DH bought me an antelope for our anniversary yesterday (11 years). I had seen it at a restaurant and wanted it. I didn't stop talking about it for months, but he kept telling me he didn't like it and didn't want it in the house.

So yesterday morning, my girls came in yelling, "Mommy! Close your eyes, close your eyes! It's a surprise!" I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, my beautiful antelope was standing in front of me!

OK - we may be in Africa, but it's not a real antelope. It's a wood carving. But it stands about 6 feet high. It's an important symbol in certain parts of West Africa. I'll have to take a picture....

Be honest. Don't worry, DH doesn't really like her that much either. But I think she's great - and she will certainly be a conversation starter pretty much anywhere we move! I can here it now, "You lived where?????"

I too think the antelope is very cool. I love converstation pieces. I have some hippos that are kind of a conversation piece. Then the boney dog in front of our TV "T-Bone" has been in the family for about 30 years!

OK, here we go - when our youngest son was about 4, we bought him his first beanie baby at WDW - this beanie baby has gone along on EVERY trip with us....OH, yea, HE doesn't take it along anymore, we, the mom and dad, take it, I guess it just brings us luck and nice memories. What we do with the other 100 beanie babies that are stored in a garbage bag, I don't know

Looks like the Magic is heading to Northern Europe in 2010. Ports visits to Oslo and Copenhagen have been found online. It appears that they will be doing 12 day cruises... or so the sleuths have determined....

Hi all! One part of the Houston/Gulf Coast contingent checking in.

John's plant (BP) is in the beginning stages of emergency preparedness, we'll do an advance evac to San Antonio as early as Wednesday. He's part of the emergency communications team command center. We'll know tomorrow.

Add to the fun, I'm still in jury duty - closing arguments are tomorrow, so hopefully, we won't continue into Wednesday with deliberations. I'd prefer to go with him instead of trying to follow later.
