We're leaving on the 17th also. Um, haven't packed, haven't cleaned my house, haven't ironed, haven't made my packing lists:scared1:...I'm feeling a little peer pressure here, but as Nancy Reagan advised, "Just say 'No' ". Besides, as Scarlett O'Hara says, "Tomorrow is another day."

If you hear someone at a buffet shouting, "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again" give a shout out.:dance3:

Laurie

Packing? Isn't that the thing you do the day before a trip?

If we packed now, my kids would just pull the clothes out of the suitcase and wear them.

Soooo, if I pop on a blonde wig to cover my dark curls, it'll be YOU . . . er, I mean YOUR BLONDE FRIEND who'll get the blame for peeking in the door, right? Sounds like I'm onto something here!

Poor Virgil's gonna have a bevy of middle aged babes peeking in the door of his Cat 2!

VIRGIL, ARE YOU READY???

Jamie

I'm in.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've been in this mode for a few days, now, too. Because we're Florida residents, we rarely make vacations until last minute when the resident rates are given out, which typically doesn't give us a whole lot of workup before we're already in, "OH NO! WE GOTTA PACK!" mode. On top of that, I've never really jumped on the boards before a cruise because there's so little time. I'm glad I did this time around! :)

I agree this bunch of cruisers is special.............:cloud9:popcorn::

That is just crazy!! Who would pay a $375 yearly fee? :scared1:

My post is going to make my dh's eyes roll so far in the back of his head that he may never be able to see again, but I do feel the need to comment on this discussion. I apologize in advance and particularly to my husband.

People pay fees like this on credit cards because of the perks -- for that Continental card, for example, it comes with free access to Continental's elite club room at all airports. So for anyone who flies all the time, it's a good deal. It's the same reason people pay $450 for Amex's Platinum Card -- it gets you into almost all airline elite clubs. So if you're like me and sometimes spend half of your life in airports, it pays for itself very quickly because you get free drinks and snacks, a quiet and clean place to work at airports, and free internet access in the club rooms. Those costs add up really quickly when you're on the road all the time, so those card perks are great.

But for the vacation-only traveler, it's not worth it.

Okay, the credit card industry lesson for the day is complete.

Do we get a warning before they lock our thread? Should we start a new one?

I can't remember when the last one closed, does anyone remember which number of pages or posts it was.......I feel like it's coming soon.......

This makes sense. I used to travel quite a bit for work but thankfully never enough that I'd get any kind of elite status. Those who travel that often deserve to get those perks gratis, but it is a business after all.

Thx for sharing, I don't fully understand this stuff and I would LOVE to have that kind of access!

I just checked our 1st thread - it had 250 pages with 3740 posts. We should be good for a few days. However I will be gone when you start the next thread, so someone will need to copy post one on this one to start the next.

does anyone know if AT&T has coverage in St. Thomas or Castaway Cay. I just called them and I was told that if St. Thomas is part of Puerto Rico, then there was a POSSIBLILTY that it would be in the network but maybe not...(that was helpful)! I had a different carrier last time and St. Thomas was covered.

Just a quick hello. Busy day, but a happy one. DD went for her 5 month sonogram today and all seems well. Plus, it's a GIRL!!! We are thrilled, but cautiously optimistic. Please keep her in your prayers for a healthy baby and a safe delivery. Last time she miscarried at 17 weeks so we are feeling so much better with today's news.:banana:

I guess I should start packing........... :upsidedow

Congratulations to you and your family! We'll definitely keep your DD in our prayers.

I am in for the Suite tour as well!!!! I would lvoe to see it. So happy hour in the Suite? :lmao:

You all sure got busy last night!!

Happy Hour in the Roy O. disney Suite is awesome. On our 2005 cruise out of California one of the disboard members hosted a cocktail party in his suite. He even had a waitstaff walking around with trays of hors d'ovres us. The suite is beautiful and the verandah is huge! My kids were very impresed wi over the fact that you rang a doorbell!

We have Verizon and there's coverage. I would think the other carriers would have coverage as well.

I had verizon last cruise, I was hoping for coverage at least in St. Thomas and just turning it off the rest of the cruise.

Ok, I was there in the spring and I had limited coverage, sometime it worked and sometime it didn't. It was still better than we expected.

I was in the AF for 6 years, but my job positions were confined to only the rare overseas bases (Australia and Greenland were really the only two). In the end I spent a year and a half in remote Alaska (which was my nightmare until I got there, and then I fell in love with it) and four and a half at Cape Cod, MA (where I met my lovely wife!). I wish I'd got to see more of the world, but I have no complaints. I'm just going to make Marcy take me, now. :)

I worked two summers on Cape Cod in Falmouth. I was the prop person for the College Light Opera Co. I spent so muc time going all over the cape collecting things. And it helped that my roomate was a townie. I had the best time there. They are some of my fondest memories. Very magical.

What Verison plan covers calls from St. Thomas? I'd rather do a quick call then be online.
