The kids have been busy this week - the jr high region band (day) camp started today after auditions yesterday. For the past two years, the trombone section has been exceedingly tough. This is ds14's last hurrah in the camp as a rising freshman - he made 6th chair trombone in the #1 band out of 3 bands. Maggie, dd12, just finished her 1st year in trombone, she placed 1st chair in the #2 band. We're proud of them both!

She just missed her goal of playing in the same band with her brother. There will be a trombone ensemble - 38 trombones combined from all three bands playing "Phantom of the Opera." So, she will get to play one piece with her brother after all. Mike elected to play 2nd part instead of 1st, it turns out that they both are playing the same part.

As a former band mom I know the pride you feel when you know how hard they work and than make it. Congratulations!!

Good news all!

Dear Kitty - Patches - finally made it home today. She came home the day after we left Burkina and our neighbor took her in. A colleague flew back to DC today and brought her with him. She was stressed and not really a happy camper, but made it in one piece.

She's at the vet's now preparing for her spaying surgery tomorrow. Looking forward to getting her settled again. Poor thing! It's been a tough week!!!

So glad Patches made it. It has been an adventure for all of you.

Hold the phone people - I didn't make the FE. I'd love to take credit for it though. I ordered it from ebay, I did pick out the characters and some of the colors. I had good intentions of making my own, I used to make quilts. But there's a point when spending $28 plus shipping is just easier.

Thank you to whoever in the group brunch may have had the Thursday morning Palo Brunch reservation... we were able to book that for us! This will be our first experience for Brunch!

I'm sorry, I goofed........we are scheduled for Monday, July 20th at 10:30pm..........the second sea day..........also the confirmation states that we must all confirm our attendance to the private room brunch between 1-3:30pm embarkation day in Rockin'Bar D..........when does everyone plan to arrive to the ship that day? I know Maryann is arriving thru DCL transportation, the Williams, Fishers, Hopfs and Lawalls should arrive early by 10 or so.......Joann.......when do you think you'll get there? Maybe we can coordinate our checkin?

That person makes the cutest FEs. I wonder how many orders she has gotten over the years. To think her business started because of the DIS boards.

I asked someone who makes cute FEs what kind of machine she had. A used one cost $8,600! But what great results.

If you need to make changes, you need to go through me, then I go through DCL. Please remember we are at 13 people, if we fall below 12, they will cancel our entire reservation. So if you need to cancel, please let us know so we can try to find aomeone else to take your place. Thanks.

I start my new job Friday which is insane. Because of the holiday and a DR's appointments I'll work like a week and a half before I'm on vacation. Oh well it will give me time to work on the classroom and the schedule this school is no where near code and needs a lot of work.

Ok, so in light of this info, I think I can confirm for our group too.........sorry for MORE confusion.........however, I'll be there anyway (early) to adjust our Palo dinner ressies and try to add my kids to the brunch in the main dining room, we'll see?
