DBIL's wedding was fabulous!!!! Today they leave for their honeymoon in Jamaica.

The grab bag sounds like a fun idea. We're in.

been gone all weekend. DD had 3 soccer games- playing and refereeing and dance rehearsals. sounds like we have alot of talented kids! DD did dance competion for 4 years before this yr. she also wanted to do her sports so she took her grade 1 ballet and lyrical class. of course when competition season came around she was disappointed that she couldn't so it. I told her that she can't to everything and still maintain her grades and of course grades come first.

My mom and I are in for the gift exchange.

40 days to go!! Can't wait.

We've packed something from Burkina for the gift exchange. (Don't worry - it won't bite! )

Taking a short break from the packing mayhem! Have gotten through the air shipment, storage shipment, playroom and kitchen packouts. DH is supervising the storeroom pack out right now. I just have someone packing pictures right now.

Hopefully we'll finish on time - I hate long pack-outs!!! But they've told us we won't be done before Friday. We'll see.

I can't believe you are packing to come back state side then going on the cruise. you must be a very organized person! where will you be living here?

We're not coming back this tour - this is just our home leave to see family and take a little break.

We're actually heading to Kampala, Uganda for the next two years.

Today's tortola Update from Miss Mermaid:

84 degrees on a quiet Monday. Last night I could hear the tropical wave march right past us. The winds whipped up and seas were choppy and a bit of rain briefly fell. Then by morning, all was beautiful again. Well sort of.

There is this thick fog laying about, and we don't get fog, but we have it now. Very eerie.

My friend was out late last night and he said the fog was so thick, he could barely see to drive. Very odd stuff this fog.

I was watching the fool moon party at Trellis Bay via the webcam on S/V Sophisticated Lady. So I thought I would make a post and others could watch the party too. I could see the fireball lit up brightly and people traversing the beach. Before I cold post, POOF, the internet crashed and it never came back up again. I called about it, got the usual run around. Today it is working again, intermittently, I will try to get this out pronto!

I finished up my work and went to bed,woke up, couldn't sleep, turned on the idiot box and there was the Roseanne show, playing a marathon. So I giggled my way through the night, as much of it was hilarious. I didn't have a TV for 20+ years, so I never saw the show when it was first run. If you need a good giggle, they deliver plenty.

It must have been a great full moon party at both ends of the island as things are super quiet on my end of the island. Another new restaurant packed up bags and closed for good. Kind of sad. The employees were the last to know. I know the feeling, it's happened to me before.

Well, the good news is there are cheap flights all over creation coming down here. Bargains abound!

We've had a lot of lucking people on this thread so far!!!!!

We aren't one of them yet though. We are happy with the room we have (secret verandah) but an upgrade is always welcome!

I think I once met a freind of a friend who went to that school. Was he telling me a story, or was your nickname called the "Fighting Pickles?"

Yes, the school mascot was a pickle. Since we had no sports teams, so no real trophies, we had a trophy case full of all kinds of jars of pickles that were relabeld. It was an interesting school to go to.

OK if it keeps raining i will not have to go to FL to get on the Magic the Magic will be able to come to me. Anyone got a boat I can borrow? The little girl I mentioned on Friday passed away this afternoon. The family decided to take her off life support when everyone realized there was no options left. Tomorrow the other teachers and I have the difficult task of explain this to these young children who have been asking where there friend is.

I've got to get off of here before I get fried by the lighting that just hit outside my house.

Well Congratulations!! They sure must have a lot of category 6 cabins still open, which is great for us!
