It went from highs in the 60's to 90's and Wednesday it's supposed to be high in 60's. It was 68 degrees at 5:30 this morning and that is usually the high for the day. Maryland weather is crazy. Maybe it will keep the swine flu away :thumbsup2

Congrats on the pirate:! Looks like you are on a roll! :thumbsup2

Of course this is exactly the kind of weather that makes me sick, so maybe I should be glad that our weather is just hot and hotter. :confused3

Almost burned the cake I was baking for DD spring concert tomorrow. I think I will be pirate: Captain SomeLikeItHot

Isn't it hard to breathe when it's that hot?

Much harder when it's really dusty or the pool/air conditioning is too far away! :lmao::lmao:

Of course, I got my full taste of travel Burkina style the other day when we had a Congressional delegation visiting from the U.S. We took them out to a village to show them how U.S. taxpayer money is being invested so well. Everything went great - despite the 105 degree afternoon heat. Until we boarded the bus for the 45 minute ride back to the capital...

The air conditioning quit! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We had security vehicles accompanying the bus, so all the delegation members got to move to air conditioned comfort. I stayed on the bus with a couple of the military guys. We opened the windows and just settled in for the ride.

By the time we got home - I felt like I had dust BETWEEN MY TEETH!!!:scared1: (Picture Rene Zellweger in Bridget Jones after the scarf flies off - that's probably what I looked like - only covered in bright orange dust from head to toe too. :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

The things we do for our country! :thumbsup2

What is the going price for dandelion removal? My girls always thought it was picking flowers.

They want to charge by size .10, .15, .25. We proposed a flat rate of $5 each. they prefer their scale. We are still negotiating.

Congrats on the new pirate: I'll be back soon.....still working on the 2nd BF.....passport, and airfare is the next frontier........:scared:

That brought back so many memories. I too thought they were flowers when I was a kid. I even asked a florist if I could have an arrangement and could they dye them blue! :scared1: I couldn't understand why she was getting angry at me.:rotfl: At one point I was sent outside to pull the weeds. I figured that anything that comes up without me planting them must be a weed. My mother came home and asked me where the flowers went? :confused3 Can you tell I'm not a gardener?

So, today we had a rain day from school. I truly feel bad for those that had flooded homes or flooded cars, but today was a good break for me - it was the first time I have had a day off all month - this has been a busy month with UIL competitions during the weekends, and getting students ready to take AP exams. So.. today, I got ALL my laundry done, got all my ironing done (yes, I even ironed the T-shirts!!), vacuumed the floors, moved winter clothes out of the closets and summer clothes into the closets, and have a ham in the oven now for when DH gets home. DD went over to a friends to do a Disney movie marathon, and I even took a 45 minute power nap.

I’m grateful for this mini vacation day today.

79 more days to a bigger vacation.....
