The more I think about it, the more it seems to make sense to try to get a charter together for the day. That way, I could hit the Baths from the water and maybe Soggy dollar for a little bit and then return on my own timetable.

Anyone ever chartered for a day? My boss has chartered a boat for the week, but the person she used does not do day charters.

Intersting thought. I wonder if that company your boss used could recommend another company that does day charters?

There is Patouche Charters that will do charters. They have a full day 9 - 5 for 12 people for $2,000. Due to the economy, perhaps they could do a shorter, cheaper version? (They also have bigger boats.)

I wonder - that is an interesting thought. I will look into over the weekend.

I got my graduation ears in the mail today! Mom and Matt laughed when I put them on. They are a little silly but who cares. I will finish my masters the day we board the ship. Mom asked if I was sure i didn't want to go to the ceremony and cruise later. This will be my third degree I would definitely rather be on a cruise.

Had a blessedly peaceful uneventful day at work mostly due to the fact that we had very few kids.

My DH and DS flew to Houston today to vist our older son and daughter-in-law. I stayed home with my DD becasue she had to work. She'll be taking too many days off between prom and graduation that she couldn't get off. I'll have a nice quiet weekend to get things organized.

We have the Baths excursion booked through Disney. As of now no one wants to change it.

I have an edit to our line- DSIL(Mary Jo) and DSBIL (Dean), DS(Andrew) and DSGF(Katie) are not coming on the cruise.

Quiet here too. The guys left for the weekend for their last shake-down camping/hiking trip. Hard to believe tha about 18 months of planning for their big trip and it is almost here. The last thing to do is still try to find transportation for them from Dullas airport two hours away to where they all live. They are getting in at 12:30 AM. Yikes!

For the weekend it is just my DD and myself. We have a couple of things to do, but not too much. Maybe I'll try to put the finishing touches on the FE things? The weather I think will be nice. Yippee. And the pool opens, the official signal that summer is here. I guess it is time to finally put away all cold weather clothes and dig out everything else. I hate doing this.

Be safe everyone!!

I am so excited for this weekend - NO plans on saturday or sunday....NO plans, unbelieveable. Monday we have a commitment in the afternoon, but that is it. :yay::yay::yay:

Our 17 yr. old son starts his job at the pool this weekend....looks like not so nice weather for the pool, although I don't remember many Memorial Days that had nice weather.:sad2::sad2:

Believe it or not, high school cafeteria duty yesterday and today was not too bad. I thought they'd be WILD with the long weekend coming up, but it wasn't too bad. Even though I'm an office sub, and only work when they need me, I've worked almost every day this month. I've already got the first two weeks booked in the high school office in June (and to think I'm actually retired, at a very young age, I'll have you know:lmao::lmao:). I really do enjoy the jobs. I work with a bunch of very fun people. Before I know it, it will be July!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We have DD's dance recital tomorrow afternoon- not sure why they planned this thing for a holiday weekend. :confused3 As soon as the recital is over we are 'going home' to Disney's Hilton Head for the weekend! :cool1:

Now that I just looked on "my cruise reservation" now I have lots of questions. I'm getting really nervous!! We applied for our passports after 3 trips to the post office - yes 3 times - first time, the copier was down, went back the next day with copies, we forgot our check book, 3rd time- check book, copies all set - and finally sent - expeditied. So that is over.
Now my questions are:

How do I find out how much OBC we have? AAA gave us $75, but I put the whole thing on my Disney Visa so we would get the $50 OBC, but that is not showing up on my paper ressie. Is there some where online that I would find it?

I know I have to sign up dd for the child care, but where do I do that on line or is it after I check in with all of us? I can't check in unless I have the passport numbers?

One of the excursions that we wanted to do is already booked up, do they ever open more up on the ship? If we book one on line and decided not to do it, are we refunded the money? I'm thinking of dear 12dd and swimming. (ladies you know what I mean!)

When will be find out our room assignments? We have a cat 10. any chance we can upgrade? We just booked on Monday, then of course all the new OBC comes out, oh well that is our luck! :sad2:

We are celebrating our parents "early" 50 anniversary. Is anyone clever out there in a slogan for our t-shirts? I was thinking "Crusin to 50...." with Mickey and Minnie. I know kinda dorkey. I'll have to get a Mutiny t-shirt too! I kinda wanted something pirate related so we could wear them to the pirate dinner, but my brain is kinda fried since its the holiday weekend! :)

I know I have to sign up dd for the child care, but where do I do that on line or is it after I check in with all of us? I can't check in unless I have the passport numbers? If you need Flounders (for the under 3 set), you can do this online in your reservation. You do not need to check-in in order to make these reservations. But online you are limited to 10 hours of Flounders:scared1:, so plan accordingly. Make sure you book your most vital times first. Often you can book more hours once you are onboard. You can also register older kids online for their kids' clubs. But you can also do this at the terminal or onboard. Unlike Flounders, these groups don't fill up, so there's no rush.

One of the excursions that we wanted to do is already booked up, do they ever open more up on the ship? If we book one on line and decided not to do it, are we refunded the money? I'm thinking of dear 12dd and swimming. (ladies you know what I mean!) You must cancel any excursion three days in advance of sailing. If you don't, you are at the mercy of Disney. Their official policy is no refund. :headache: You can check with the cruise excursion desk when you board if you would like to be put on a waiting list for an excursion. Sometimes people need to cancel for illness etc. and if there's someone on the waiting list, then I think Disney is willing to help you work out the switch. I've personally never done this though, so best to call Disney and ask about their excursion policy and check-in with the excursion desk as soon as you board.

When will be find out our room assignments? We have a cat 10. any chance we can upgrade? We just booked on Monday, then of course all the new OBC comes out, oh well that is our luck! :sad2: You generally get your room assignment about 30 days out from the cruise. I'm assuming you booked a GTY room. There are opportunities for upgrades, but they aren't really that common. The standard advice is book a cabin you'll be happy with and if you get an upgrade, it's a special bonus.:cool1: Sometimes at the port when you check in, there are upgrades available and they are generally cheaper than if you call in advance. But again, these opportunities are few, so don't count on it. If you really want an upgrade and are willing to pay full price for it, call in advance.

We are celebrating our parents "early" 50 anniversary. Is anyone clever out there in a slogan for our t-shirts? I was thinking "Crusin to 50...." with Mickey and Minnie. I know kinda dorkey. I'm not good with slogans either (and I don't think yours sounds dorky at all). But if you're looking for other ideas:idea:, what about "Celebrating 50 'Magical' years!" I'd make the "Magical" all fancy with stars or glitter or something pixiedust:. Then you can put the name of the ship and dates, names of your parents, etc. Just an idea.I'll have to get a Mutiny t-shirt too! I kinda wanted something pirate related so we could wear them to the pirate dinner, but my brain is kinda fried since its the holiday weekend! :)

I hope this helps! Enjoy the planning, it's part of the overall experience and excitement!:dance3:

This weekend, we are just going to organize. I have a wedding shower tonight, but other than that, not much going on. The kids actually have school on Monday, so that will give me a whole day without little ones running around to continue organizing.

We've sold the playset and the new family came and hauled it away this week - VIA DONKEY CART!!!!! :scared1: You've just gotta love Africa! And a friend wants our rabbit to expand her breeding program. So I think we'll take her over there today. That way the kids can still go and see her everyday.

The cats got their microchips yesterday so that they can now transit Europe without problems.

Of course, to start organizing - I have to get off the DIS. Procrastinate, procrastinate, procrastinate...:headache:

Still waiting on photobucket.... allllllmost there....allllmost there....

Well, I was shooting from inside the house to the cart outside the gate, so it's not a great photo, but there's the donkey, and the playset tower is on a cart behind him.

I think it's about time to take my girls to the supermarket. Normally, we let our cook do the shopping (there are definitely some benefits to living here: affordable domestic help), but he's been sick, and we're running low.
