July 18, 2007 07-18-07 Med Cruise

i'm not reading too much about this because i was looking for someona who speak spanish or something because my wife doesn't speak english , she is learning because our trips to disney, but is difficult for her to understand you and have a conversation, so that's why.

are you going to have a meeting? where and when?

you are going to buy gifts, is that right?

we are going to go by our own in the excursions, what about you? private tours?

thank you for teeling us about the change with the days.

Yo hablo espanol!! If your wife has any questions just send me a pm (private message). We will be visiting family in spain for a week before the cruise.

Well shoot now my port of call sign is all wrong. Oh well can't change it now. Finished my shopping today. Had to get makeup and well things that are going to remained unmentioned also had to get tapes for the video camera. Found a nice little pouch thing to wear around my neck that holds passport and other things that way i won't have to worry about somebody stealing them out of my backpack. That would have to be either a really despreate or really brave thief to try and stick their hand under my shirt.
Lissa:tinker:

thank you misbel, but i think she doesn't have questions because i have to prepare our trips every year and she doesn't think about it, so..... but if we go to the meeting we could talk in spanish a little bit.

thank you!!!

Hi everyone! Wow, many of you plan really far in advance!:) My husband and I are taking our three boys ages 11, 9 and 5. We just planned it though two weeks ago. We were going to go to Wyoming, but after realizing that guest ranches cost $2,000pp for 6 nights, we thought Italy was a much better idea.

We just received our room assignments yesterday and are on deck 6, inside staterooms. Unfortunately, just next to each other and not connecting.:sad2: We are still on a waiting list for a suite that will accomodate five. Would love to have a room with a view, but just couldn't justify the extra money since we would still need two rooms.

We are really excited to go, and are trying to figure out excursions. I think we are going to get a driver for Naples and Rome, and then go from there.

Anyone getting early on the 18th and do you have any ideas of what to do for the day?

I see a few new folks joining our cruise and I would like to welcome them all to our group! So nice to see so many DIS people sharing and learning from each other here.

I plan on arriving early afternoon to the ship and find that embarkation day just seems to fly by. Between enjoying lunch, then finding our rooms, exploring around and plotting out our personal navigator, it just wizzes by.

You can enjoy the pools, visit the spa, make Palo ressies, take in a movie, join our DIS Meet in the Promenade Lounge, lol and more.

Has anyone received cruise docs yet? I keep hoping as we are fast approaching the two week mark.

Anyone getting early on the 18th and do you have any ideas of what to do for the day?

Haredi - welcome to the DIS and to the July 18th cruise! As you can see from the post above, we have a pretty good number of DIS Board members and families who will be sailing.

We have a "meet" (think meet and greet) scheduled for the 18th in the Promenade Lounge an hour before the safety drill, so if you want, come on by to say hello to your fellow DISers. FWIW, I'm Cindy D., traveling with Dh Gary, and with Nathan (just turned 11) and Zachary (9 3/4). Looks like two of your children are right around the same ages as mine.

DVCSpain, please bring your wife and y'all come by to say hello - it sounds like we have a few folks who will speak spanish and english, so we'll make sure everyone is welcome!

I was looking today for what I wanted for our gifts... I had found part of it on Monday and today figured out the rest unless I change my mind :) But nope, I'm not gonna tell. And yes, I'll pack it in my day-bag because I'd like to be sure to have it for the meet and not have it stuck in my luggage if it doesn't make it to my cabin in time.

Welcome Haredi! We are so glad you have a joined us. This group is very informative!! I have a 6year old son, he will be excited to meet another boy his age. We are flying in on the 18th as well and will go straight to the ship. However, with as much rain as we have had in Oklahoma this month maybe the ship could just pick us up here! LOL!:rotfl2: I have never seen it rain this much and for this long. We are thankful though because last year we had severe droughts here.

Kathleen

Colleenlg - (or others) - did you FAX the reservation request to the Vatican, and if so, have you received a confirmation? I FAXed last week but no reply yet.

We're planning to take the train in and requested a 10:30 tour...

We actually decided to go with a private scheduled tour so I didn't fax the Vatican after all...

I have just received my CRUISE DOCUMENTS:dance3: :yay:  :cool1:  :yay: :dance3: . They were delivered by UPS and I had to sign for them. I was really surprised as I thought because we live outside the US that I would be one of the last to receive my documents.

This is soooooooooooo exciting I really am going on a Disney Med Cruise :cheer2: :cheer2: . Hope you all get your documents soon.

I am away to read them now.

You know, it hadn't even crossed my mind to start looking out for cruise documents. Duh! Like others, work has been slamming (11 more work days for me - thankfully we have next Wednesday as a holiday and I plan to pull the suitcases out then and do some preliminary packing). I've got three new projects that I have to get the bulk of the work done on so that either someone else can take over or they can be finished before we leave. I have a "count-down" on my door not only for my own fun, but also as a visual reminder to my coworkers for their own planning :)

In the meanwhile, I am trying to get things done each day at lunch and in the evenings for errands, etc. The kids are still at camp - seems like they have been gone longer than just since Saturday - I miss them and can't wait to pick them up on Saturday - and to know that 2 weeks from Saturday is when we start our journey!

My boss's boss was asking about our trip yesterday and telling me about a great museum in Pisa by the square - the one where they have preliminary sketches of the frescoes. The Museu Delle Sinopie. I want to check our Pisa excursion and see how much free time we have in Pisa and if we have enough, I want to go see it.

As for embarkation day, we plan to board as early as possible because we'll want the time to rest, unpack and relax, especially after the busy and tiring day(s) of travel and exploration getting from home to the ship.

Wow - it will be so awesome if we get our docs today! DH will be home this afternoon so if we have to sign for them, he can do that.

New to DIS and cruising. Can someone explain this to me - how many? For kids and adults or 1 per family? Bbring them to the meet and greet?

I'm never home so not sure how UPS will find me - do they come UPS in the states as well or just regular mail?

So many questions, so little time! :)

You can do gifts however you want (and please, don't anyone feel obligated to do it... if you want to, great, but if you don't, please still make sure to come to the meet!) We're doing one-per-family.
