July 16th & 51 degrees

How weird

I'll take some of that Gumbo. It's 90 here in Philly which wouldn't be so bad but we are hanging around 90% humidity. Yuck. step outside and it's like a sauna.

which I guess really isn't weird at all for this time of year. My new mantra though is "at least it's not January". lol, last winter beat the bejeezus out of me.

We've only gotten a few days like that all Summer. Every time it gets real hot & humid, we get a thunderstorm & then it cools off for several days. Usually, we get weeks on end like that this time of year. Planning to take the boat out on Saturday, but it may be too cold :lmao:

We're having a heat wave  High 80's by mid-day and down to 11 or 12 (low 50's) at night. Is it staying cool where you are during the day?

I'm in NEPA and the humidity is disgusting. Our temps have been in the low to mid-80's but the humidity.. :crazy2:

Yes, high yesterday was only about 76F. We're not supposed to see 80 for a couple more days.

Mid-high 70's (24 - 26C) are usually GREAT summer daytime temps here! Anything higher gets hard to take as pretty much nobody has air conditioning at home. We sure don't have humidity problems though - it's about 32% right now. (Oh, and FWIW we'd totally go boating in the 50's. That's what our "summer coats" are for. :lmao:) Have a great day! :boat:

After suffering through the Polar Vortex this summer, it's been depressing to have swimming lessons cancelled and having to bundle up in sweatshirts in July. It's my fault. When we were in Jamaica, I put a picture on Facebook of my daughter floating in the pool with the beach and sun in the background. I said, "Dear Polar Vortex. How you like us now?" I've angered it and it is retaliating.

Send some my way! It's been in the 80s or higher for a few weeks in greater Boston. The heat and humidity are killing me, but is making for great training for the ToT 10 miler!

So, YOU'RE to blame!! :lmao:

We were about normal here in June for swimming lessons & swim team ended last week. So, we're lucky in that regard.

Last year, it was stupid cold in June. DD couldn't take more than 2-3 strikes without gaspin for air. Swim coach thought she couldn't swim - no, she's just used to it being more than 62 degrees :rotfl2:

Right there with ya, Gumbo. Mother Nature sure has not been kind to those of us in the Midwest these last 9 months or so, has she?

It is currently 57 here, with a high temp of 69 today.

We're getting the same thing up here. My daughter actually had to wear a light jacket to her summer study program this morning, and she's been so disappointed at how often it has been too cold for the beach. And my poor tomatoes... Every time they start perking up we get another night that dips into the 40s.

After the long, cold winter I was really looking forward to the summer heat. So far I've been disappointed.

Gumbo, is that a record low for the date in your area? Just checked today's paper here and the record low for July 16 was 55 in 1999.

Forecast here is low to mid 80s thru Monday.

69 here right now with high in mid 80's later in the day. We've had a few 90 degree days.

How weird

Gumbo--I am LOVING this summer weather! Beautiful days at the amusement park/water park, wrapped up in sweatshirts at nights when camping over the 4th, not running the a/c constantly for 3 months straight. Keep your mouth shut!:lmao:

And yes--these are record lows in Missouri right now. It's usually about 7 million degrees and no one wants to go outside at all--with the kind of heat/humidity that takes your breath away as soon as you step outside. I'll take this summer any summer!:beach:

Temp here this morning on the way to work was a chilly 55 degrees! I turned the heat on in the car to take the chill out....

Whata summer :-(

Gumbo the weather in MI seems to match that of where you are. I was looking forward to a long, hot summer but that is not what we are getting.

We just got back from our morning walk and it was fantastic. We have two routes to pick from. One shaded, the other non-shaded. We took the non-shaded one and no sweat.

<<< here in Buffalo and it was a little chilly last night. Now I have no fans on and no air conditioners running. Giving the electric bill a break:thumbsup2
