July 15-22 2006 Western Anyone?

We went to WDW in March and purchased the Mickey pirate ears and Goofy pirate ears for my two boys for the cruise. They are really cute!!!!

They sell them various places in Disney World, but we got ours right outside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Speaking of pirates............has anyone done the pirate soul museum in Key West??

Pirate mickey ears - so cute!!!!

Everyone has been so busy posting, I feel behind! In the last week we had father's day, my anniversary, my Mom's BD, son's BD (12!!!) and his BD sleepover (14 boys in our house for our sleepover - can you spell d-e-o-d-o-r-a-n-t!!) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I tried to book a dolphin excursion through dolphindiscovery and have not heard from them. Anyone else have any luck?

The Cayman shoretrip I booked has a disclaimer that they are on Central Standard time and many cruise ships stick with the time they leave port - which in our case is Eastern - so they advise to be sure to check the time. Is this true? I guess it makes sense to not change clocks on board but seems like that would mess you up in Cayman and Cozumel (what time is Cozumel on???)

Is POTC going to be playing? I lost the phone # to call to find out.

Hope everyone is as excited as I am. :cool1: :grouphug: I think you are!
Post more later!

:sunny:  Me again with another ?? Gales, what other hotel options are there at the Port. I know Radisson and Residence Inn, but what else? With 5 of us, it gets a little pricey!
:grouphug:
:wizard: To let you know, we have two cabins adjoining on Deck 7. Long story but we were originally booked on the May 20th cruise with a category 4 room for the 5 of us. Our kids were SUPPOSE to get out on the 19th. Well the district changed the calendar, I was OK with them missing a day of school but then we had snow days - yes even here in Dallas we have snow days - so the kids woulda missed 3 days of school so ( :furious: ) school comes first, :teacher: we rebooked and, my goodness, the prices sure go up between the end of May and July! But now I get to meet all you wonderful people :cloud9:

We have late dining too - so we will see some of you there.
I'll try to post a picture tonight

Hey everyone!

I arrived safe and sound in Topeka yesterday, nice flight from Milwaukee to Kansas City. The weather is beautiful here, highs in the low 80's. I was out here last year (north of KC) and it was in the upper 90's and VERY humid :sad2:

Anyway, we have not yet received our cruise docs. I'm not too concerned since we did the forms online. I have successfully confirmed our Stingray city excursion with Nativeway - when I spoke with her on the phone she reminded me that they run on Central time. I think I read a post somewhere that they announce on the ship that we have changed time zones.

Gotta go, class starts soon. I'll try to post later.

I forgot to mention - 2 weeks from today we'll be arriving at Animal Kingdom Lodge - going on the Wanyama safari!!!! I'm so excited and I know you will all understand my exicitement. :dance3:

I think I can "imagine" your excitement. I am not sure, I think I am getting slightly excited. Could you give me a diagnosis? My symptoms are:

:cool1: :rotfl2: :goodvibes  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: :hyper: :dancer:

Tell me what you think, and what can I do about it? It is driving me absolutely crazy.

We are extremely wet here in Va beach. I think we are going to get rain everyday for the rest of the week. I may need a boat to get out of here. And I thought I was going to enjoy my last day without DH and DS's at the beach. Oh well, now I am stuck here.

Make it a great day!!!

In the Navigator you receive each night, they will tell you to change your clocks. The ship always changes to be the same as on shore, so there should be no issues with getting back on time.

I can't remember which cruise, but we did receive notification to turn clocks ahead and back during the cruise. This is a chart prepared by Dave of DCL Tribute showing the different time zones, and having to change the clocks.

I looked using aaa internet trip ticket and Dave's DCL Tribute web site. While aaa showed all the hotels, I prefer having some 'real' experience. Dave from DCL Tribute has not updated his site in a while, so he did not have the Residence Inn (and the Residence Inn was not available when I tried to book there a while ago). The lodging page from his site is here. Since none of the hotel pools seemed to be as nice as the Radissons (well except for Ron Jon's but that was twice as expensive), we decided to do beach front instead.

We will then drive over to the port, and pay for parking. Because Best Western was cheaper, parking at the port will only be about $20 more when everything gets added in.

Although, I still have the shuttle reservation booked at the Radisson. They only checked my reservation when I signed up. Maybe we could still try to take the shuttle and save the parking fee. :smooth: Just kidding, but you can't blame a guy for trying to save a few bucks. :joker:

Thanks Gales! I finally booked the transfers from and to the airport today (using ***********) and the travel agent had booked as at the Residence Inn already. Guess we'll stay there for now. I used Dave's DCL site when we were on the Wonder 3 years ago and had noticed it had not been updated in a while - it was a good site!

Oh :cheer2: got our documents in the mail today :cheer2:

Should I be scared concerned When should the Panic set in

Hi all,
Have I mentioned that it's RAINING up here? I think one of my neighbors is building an ark. :rolleyes1

Went shopping today. Went to the Disney store and outfitted us all in POTC shirts for Pirate night. Lady in the store said that although they will probably have more of a selection down in Disney and on the ship, stuff will be WAY more expensive there. The kids shirts were 3 for $20 and adults, 2 for $20.

No docs here either. :confused3

I did not get mine today in the mail either, but I have not given up on that big brown truck.

Keep in mind that if you booked through a TA the docs go there first (at least it used to work that way). So that can delay them a few days. Don't worry - before we know it we will be on Castaway Cay and almost done with our wonderful vacations that we have been so looking forward to.

Ah, don't say that. Now I am bummed. ;)

Is there a way we can slow that week on the ship down a bit? It is depressing to think of how quicky time will pass that week.

But for now, time drags on, and I do not have my documents. Maybe I should bug my TA, and she will run them over here herself just to get rid of me. :rolleyes1

We got our documents today!! They were delivered by UPS.

The documents have Departure from Key West at 7:30 pm. Although, the Key West port calendar has departure at 10:00.

I think we will make plans for Mallory Square, but then if we find out the ship leaves at 7:30, we will change our plans.

I have updated the web page with more information.

Hi ! Everyone. Just returned from the mall. My DD and I were at "claires."
They had some Disney merchandise from POTC. A pillowcase with Jack Sparrow on it, ipod nano covers, POTC laynards, and plenty of jewelry.
So cute ! In reference to the docs, We recieved ours last friday.
A year ago, we went on the Wonder, no docs 2 weeks prior, called DCL tracked docs to a travel agency about a mile from our house. The agent
said she had them for about a week! This was somewhat disturbing since I booked thru DCL and never heard of that travel agency. Thankyou ups for your tacking sysytem, I was going to have to pay for new docs at the port!

Thanks for the updated page. I love my age. Too funny. :rotfl:

No documents here yet. Called TA again. Will get them 2 weeks before the cruise. I figure any day right?

I really hope for our sake that we get to stay in Key West until 10:00pm. It's not a trip to Key West without going to Mallory Square for that sunset.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Oh The Mighty Brown truck came to my door at about 5:00ish and has just

dropped off the Golden Ticket :cloud9:

excuse my excitement

I have a question about the dining rotation and how to dress for each night.
I've been reading other threads and I'm getting more confused.

Does the restaurant you eat in on a particular night determine the dress code or is the dress code the same for everyone no matter where you're eating that night? For example, is formal night, formal night for everyone on the ship? I know this is probably a stupid question and I thought I knew the answer but I read about people who request a particular rotation for whatever reason. And I'm still a newbie and I'm so confused! :confused3

Thanks in advance!
