Oh, you are so lucky. Only a week for you!!! Wow. So you really are in the "must get packed" stage. I am waiting for that time. I have done all I can LOGICALLY do. I will be excited when I hit the week mark on Saturday.

Have fun shopping for a camera. There are so many out there that it can be so confusing as to what is the best. Good luck.

I bought a camera! See my previous post. I need to get into the "must get packed" stage but for some reason I'm not there. We did go to Target today to get some travel size items and disposable cameras so I guess that's a start.

Congratulations!! I think that is the camera we have. We like it, but the delay on it is too long. Not sure if it can be changed. We bought ours a couple or three years ago, and I hear they have improved the delay very much. I love the size too. It is very easy to use. Maybe I will need an upgrade to a newer model so we don't have such a long delay.

Our 2 oldest sons wrestled in school and it was so hard to take pictures and get it to go off when we wanted it to. I would press the button when the ref was out of the picture but it never failed, when I looked at the picture he was all I could see.

We are bringing our video camera too. Not sure if we want to lug all of this around, but I would hate to be wishing for a video camera.

Travel size items and disposable cameras are a good start. That will bring you into the packing mood. It did me, but I bought mine too early.

One of my little Bichon doggies has been biting the hair on his legs. He actually is getting bald there because of it. I could not figure out why. He has also been crying all the time. Well, I found out what it is. ..... he sees the suitcases and everything lined up in my room. He knows what that means by now. He is confused and stressed over this. I think I need to put the suitcases away until it gets a little closer. The poor dog is just too smart.

My other camera has a delay issue too so that is something I considered. This seems very fast so I'm hopeful!

Sorry to hear about your dog! Poor thing. We had to put our dog down last summer, it was sad. We've delayed getting another pet until after this trip - kennel costs for 2 weeks is crazy!

I just got home from purchasing a new digital camera too! My old one is a Sony Mavica and I really like it, it uses a mini-cd instead of a memory card. Because of this it's very big. DH suggested that I get a smaller one for this trip. OK :cool1: I purchased the Sony Cybershot DSC-W50. I wanted the 70 but no one in town had it - apparently it's very popular. The differences between the 50 and the 70 were minor so I went for it. I'm going to give it a work out today and tomorrow to make sure I like it. I'm glad to here you like it. It's sooooo small.

lol, I actually wanted the 50, but no stores here had it. All stores only had the 70, and it was only $50 more. Good news was that Circuit City had it on sale this weekend, and I was able to get $15 of it back.

I took the camera to the pool today, and it seemed like there was no delay. I was able to capture the kids being thrown in the air. I need to read up on it a bit more to make sure I understand it (yes I am a geek).

We also take the video camera to capture some of the deck parties. My DD's also like walking around with it, and giving a tour of the ship. I do not think we would be at a great loss if I did not bring it, but we do go back and watch some of the videos.

I just thought I would let you know, that you guys are responsible for my lack of cleaning. I always told my hubby that I did NOT sit around all day eating bon bons and watching soap operas. I do work very hard here, but lately I have to say that I am spending a lot of time on this here computer. :surfweb: I still am not eating bon bons ( thank goodness, or that new dress I have may need taken out) .. It is for research purposes. uhm, I do ask an occassional question. :rotfl:

I have gotten in trouble a few times for accusing DW of sitting around all day eating bon bons. I am not allowed to make that joke any more. Enough said. :)

Oh, I'm sorry. That is so sad.

Yes, the kennel cost is unbelievable. Ours would not do well in a kennel. The one, of course, rips his hair out, and the other is adopted from a rescue and I know he would not do well in a kennel. My mom is coming to our house with her dog and staying here all week. I am so thankful for her.

You are bad, bad, bad!! :rotfl: My husband can get away with joking me about it some days, but he better know how to determine if I am up for the joke. ;) Bad day = extremely negative response. Good day= a dig back at him. :lmao:

I did not go see this movie. I would not buy it, because it is very, very sexually explicit. I heard that it was extremely intense in that respect. I do not think I would like it. I am not a prude, but there is a line I do not like a movie to cross and from what I hear this movie would cross it.

I do hear that it is Johnny's best acting yet. I may rent it, but I would have to do it when kids and hubby are gone, gone, far away. I am afraid I could not come up with a valid reason for watching that movie....except that Johnny Depp is in it. :cloud9: At least the others are really good movies for the most part.

Thank you for the input on the movie. I'm with you I don't think I would like it either if it's that intense.

Sorry to hear about your doggie. It's amazing how smart they are. We have a Victorian Bulldog and she actual loves going to the kennel. We are very lucky about that.

I wish my mom could come stay with her, but she is too hard to handle. It sure would help with that bill when we picked her up. Oh well what are you going to do.

Good morning to you too and Happy Independence Day!!! :cheer2:

I cannot believe that we are so close to the single digits. I am really having trouble sleeping over the last couple nights. I was up all night last night, tossing and turning. I am not sure if it is the stress or what, but I do not like it. I tried to mentally let go of it....after all there is nothing I can do at 2 in the morning, but that jittery feeling will not go away.

Unfortunately, our computer is in the bedroom, so I can't get on that, because although my husband is a heavy sleeper and probably would not hear me yell "fire!", he hears me hit the keyboard. It never fails to wake him up. :confused3

You are in the single digits, wow!! Can I hitch a ride with you?

Greetings all! Happy Fourth of July!

Our street has a cook out / party in the cul de sac. Fireworks are legal in South Carolina, and we have a few friends that go overboard. We will probably get started about 5:00 pm. One of our neighbors just got back from a Mediteranean Cruise last night. I can't wait to hear about it.

I filled out all the on-line forms last night. They were not too difficult to do, and they did not take that long. I gave the DD's charging privileges; I may regret doing that and take that back.

So what are others' thoughts on kids signing themselves out of the clubs? We have not done this in the past, and the girls have not missed it. I think DD10 may see other kids doing it, and want the same. DW and I are coming up with some rules, so if we change our minds, we will be set.

I have given my children and youngest son charge and sign out priveleges. They will know that they are priveleges. I think you just have to know your kids. We will have walkie talkies, we will also have something in the room for them to let us know where they are. I just want them to be able to go off together and get ice cream or food when they want to. This is all subject to change, but I feel comfortable at this point.

Charging priveleges will have to be monitored, esp since we have an 18 year old. Do you know if there is a way to find out who charges what, etc? I do not want my son to order a drink, or have someone else do it. I am sure it is possible, but will I be able to tell if he does? Not sure how this works.

All charges are broken down by the KTTW card. Just go to guest services, and you can get an itemized bill. This is something we do mid cruise anyway to make sure we remember all that we charged. However, I think the bill will only indicate where things were charged, not what. So if your son ordered a soda from a bar, you would only see that something was charged. (Now I am cheap, so I would have a talk asking why he did not go to the free drink station to get the soda :) )

I agree with that. I will make it a point to tell him to get sodas from the free stations. I think I will check by Tuesday on charges because I do not want any surprises again. That way too they know that I am checking it out and I can take those priveleges away. My boys are pretty good about asking if they can get something. I really don't think I will have to worry too much. I just want to explain that a card isn't a free for all; we do need to pay for it.

When my boys were younger, they thought I could just get money out of the atm. It was like a money tree. Take what you want. In my dreams that would be true. :)

Wasn't the launch amazing! I stil get goosebumps. :thumbsup2

BTSEN - no worries about traffic on the 15th!

I have some catching up to do so I'll be doing a few posts now - hope you don't mind!

Terri

The launch was amazing. I made sure the DD's were watching.

When does Discovery land? Is it still a thirteen day mission? I am wondering if we would need to be concerned about landing day.
