July 13th Neighborhood Bash

OK so I thought it was quite odd that a Wednesday in July would be sold out with out the rest of the week being sold out. i.e. Deluxe Studio at OKW and Studio's at AKV. It was just July 13th, a Wednesday, so I investigated the DVC member site and found that the Neighborhood Beach bash is at Typhoon Lagoon that day and you can make reservation starting on April 8th as long as you have a resort reservation. So are members just making a 1 night reservation in order to secure a spot at the Beach Bash? Are they going to cancel after April 8th? Any thoughts

I made a reservation in order to attend the Bash, not just to secure the spot. We're not doing any parks, so we booked Vero for the two nights before, and that is enough to book the Beach Bash today. But we're also spending the night of the Bash and the night after at Kidani.
