July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

Okay, printed the meet times and the list. Printed driving maps from airport to Cape Canaveral, then from there to AKL, then from the to US, then back to the airport. Think we have everything - yeah right. Have to forget something, otherwise wouldn't be me. Luckily DW does most (if not all the organizing). Okay everybody - On with the show!!! See you there.

Do you have your passports? Waiting for DH to call me from South Africa to help me get into the safe so I can get ours (had locksmith out here already trying to help me -- tricky lock, even with combo in hand). UGH!

Hey, everyone! Just checking in between loads of laundry. :laundy: We had a wonderful time on our cruise - so sad to be back in the 'real' world where no one cooks and cleans for me. Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone but I hope you all had as much fun as we did. :goodvibes

And sending a big thank you to everyone who participated in the FE exchange. We got so many great gifts and appreciated them all! :flower3:

Hello everyone! We had a wonderful time on our cruise and just would like to say a very BIG THANK YOU!!! to all our FE friends! :flower3:It was so much fun and we LOVE everything! So many wonderful handmade things and such thoughtful gifts! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!!!! :cheer2:

it was a great cruise. Look forward to some of your trip reports. Can't wait to see if I'm in any of the pictures.

Happy, you really have to tell everyone what happened with the safe and passports.

I ran into Happy at the terminal. Didn't really ask anybody else if they were from the boards, so, I may have met some of you without identifying myself. I was just enmeshed with having a good time.

I thought I would be able to keep going. So much for that. I was put on thyroid meds last year and since then, no more night owl. Doc says I'm at the right levels, but I intend to have him recheck soon. I used to live on 6 to 7 hours a night, now need 9+. Even on the cruise! Definitely messed with my groove.
I did succeed in gaining 8 pounds. Now need to lose before the next cruise. We are going for the first week next April for (hopefully a back to back). It would book us in as adults, but would kick the reservation when adding children. Turns out they do have a limit of little ones on each cruise so that the clubs are not overwhelmed. We booked 2 dummy cruises and hope to transfer in. Hope to see any of you soon on the nice big ship.

Take Care,
John

Thank you for all the great FE gifts. We had a good time checking our "mailbox" as my daughter called it. We had a wonderful first part of the cruise. Cruise ship hospital, not so grand. Left at 6 am by amublance on embarkation day, not fun. Cruise doctors majorly misdigaonsed illness as something very serious, luckily turned out not to be. Bamboo massage ahhhh!

Glad we weren't on the cruise that just left. Bad weather for them.

We also had a fabulous first cruise! It was amazing!! We loved all our FE gift! It turned out to also be good exercise going up and down hallways/stairs to get to everyone's rooms to deliver our goods.

Policycobb, so sorry to hear it was you two with the ambulance ride. We had heard about it when we were picking up our luggage. I am happy it turned out to be nothing serious.

Sorry we didn't get to meet many of you. We definitely needed at least 2 more days to get in everything we wanted to do. That's why we're headed again next year for a 7 night cruise!!

OK -- the safe and passport story.

DH and DS left for Africa on the Thursday before we left. BUT WITHOUT TAKING MY AND THE GIRLS PASSPORTS OUT OF THE GUN SAFE -- THE I CANNOT OPEN EVEN WITH THE COMBINATION IN FRONT OF ME!

I called a locksmith, he couldn't get it open.

I was on the phone with DH at 230am (he was in South Africa) he tried talking me through it, still couldn't get it open.

Saturday morning after dropping the dogs off at the kennel, the locksmith is cutting a hole in the side of the safe. Passports are retrieved, vacation is saved (passports locked in safe is not covered by travel insurance BTW).

On the the "To Do" list, buy new gun safe.

I was seriously stressed on the way to the airport, and then to find out our flight was delayed 1.5 hours. UGH! DD#3 was mad because we couldn't go wait in the Admiral's club (daddy is not with us dear) but good flight, limo waiting, got to hotel, and Clark the amazing transportation coordinator got us on the earliest shuttle.

BUT -- I left my medication kit in the hotel fridge so I had to call the hotel, they got it to another cruiser who brought it to the ship and left it at guest services for me.

I had two grownup beverages that night.

Happy- hope after such a roadblock of a start, y'all ending up having a fabulous dream vacation!

How was the cabana on day 1?

Happy - no new gun safe. Just have a patch welded over the hole in the side. If somebody can get past the weld, they'll get in one way or the other anyway. Cover up the weld with magnets from your cruise door. Or a big Yosemite Sam magnet with his guns drawn and a "you don't wanna mess with this safe!" caption or something like it.

BTW, we did Universal Studios on the Friday and Saturday after we returned. We TRIED very hard to give it a change. Harry Potter was good. Some of the roller coasters were a lot of fun. Just didn't seem to click. Transitions from area to area were non-existent. So, back to WDW from now on - with occassional cruises of course.

We are now back in Orlando after 4 nights in Sarasota recovering from our cruise! We loved every minute and we are so sad it's now gone. The private cabanas on CC were amazing and we would certainly recommend them.
Policycobb so sorry to hear that you didn't have a good end to your cruise, we too heard the ambulance. Relieved that it wasn't too serious after all.
I also had a bamboo massage - wasn't it heavenly?! I want another :goodvibes

We did it just Saturday -- just Islands of Adventure. You are right about the transitions, weird. I did like the lockers to put stuff during rides. My youngest had a small breakdown after finding out she just did not make the cut for 54" -- 1.5 inches too short.

My oldest had a small anxiety attack during HPs Forbidden Journey -- major arachniphobia. Whoops ... bad mom moment there.

My youngest did get sick Saturday night and had to miss Hollywood Studios on Sunday. My sister and two older girls went and had a great time.

The bamboo massage has to be the best massage I have ever had and the room had a spectacular view. I wish they didn't do the sales pitch or do it at the start.

That's true the sales pitch was uncomfortable and it was hard sell after a really good massage. I actually fell for it and bought something just to get out!

I told her sorry I couldn't afford it. She looked at me funny but didnt' say anything else.

Just home from our trip...No internet for two weeks....Thank you all for the awesome FE gifts. Destiny really enjoyed all her bday wishes... Only one MAJOR meltdown for her so that was good. I never did get to snorkle cause she wouldn't go to the kids' club on the island....I am in withdrawal from the mickey bars:sad2::sad1:

Glad to hear everyone had a great time. Very happy to hear from you Paula...I'm glad Robert is okay....

I wish I had been stronger, feeling so guilty wasting the money. I won't make that mistake again. I will have another bamboo massage though :worship:
