July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

I'm with you FF. I plan to know the bartender near the pool area very well before our cruise is over this time around.

Congratulations dededisney on selling your house. I know too many who are trying and can't get it done. The trip will be a great stress relief. (Hopefully for all of us).

Take Care,
John

Thanks figment fan...we were very surprised...we had an offer after being on the market for 3 days! Now we just have to make it until closing...I don't think I will be rid of the stress until that happens.

I just made a countdown calendar for the kids...they love taking the mickey heads off the poster each day. We are down to 17 days until we leave for the world!

I'm doing the same thing for Destiny. I also have her earning Minnie dollars too. She has been pushing the limits and my LAST nerve for a while now. I was showing her pictures that people post and now she is so excited. She thought it was going to be like "Suite Life On Deck":rotfl: She saw pics of the kids club, Mickey Slide and Aquaduck and is asking how many dollars to do that. My answer for most has been 10. I think she has 10 Minnie dollars now. She will be sitting in the room a lot with only 10.:rolleyes1

I just PM'd all the FE participants with a link to a Google Doc that has all the updated FE information (cabin #s, delivery dates, etc.). (Marukochan, I still need your info so please PM me soon.) Only those to whom I've sent the link can see the spreadsheet so no worries, it's not out there on the web for all to see. Please review it and let me know if I've gotten any of the information wrong or if you don't like your delivery date (which, remember, is really more of a guideline than a rule pirate:).

Thank you so much for organizing all of this for everyone! Got my FE's done and bagged!

Happy to do it! :goodvibes It's a small group and wasn't tough to put together. I did just update the spreadsheet with the last cabin number so unless anyone wants any changes we are good to go. :thumbsup2

Okay, need some advice. Is it worth just paying the extra $$ to have a pack of water be waiting for you in your room or just buy it cheaper before boarding and have to deal with lugging it around on Day 1 in your carry-on?

We have never bought the water on board...between the soda station and the free water itself...we never felt the need. We always stop before hand and buy our beverages and yes, we do lug them around until our room opens up. However, once you are actually on board, we basically set up a place for our stuff and hang out until we get into our room, so we are not lugging it all over the ship. I'm not sure what the price of water is going for these days, but I think I remember something like $35 a case....which I cannot justify:goodvibes For excursions, if we wanted to bring water, we would just use refilable water bottles.

Refillable water bottles! Great idea! I just kept reading about people buying the packs and thought that must be the best way to have water for excursions. Didn't occur to bring refillables. Thanks.

We use refillable water bottles as well. I remember a time when Coke changed their recipe, and the cola wars were at their worst. The main joke at the time was that eventually the companies would have us paying for water in a bottle. Who knew that the company execs were paying that much attention to comedians?

Now they're laughing all the way to the bank. Kind of like charging more for a mixed beer drink than for a full beer alone. Never got that either. I think they call them Shandies. How do you justify filling a glass half full of a less expensive soft drink, and a beer and charging more?!!!

Oh well, viva la capitalism and the popular things people will pay money for.

That should be outlawed! It's definitely alcohol abuse.

I finally found a review of my stateroom! The review said it was fantastic! Can't belive it is only a couple of weeks away!

I just got back from my 1st cruise on the Disney Dream & it was fantastic! I saw a Dooney & Bourke Disney Dream handbag that I wanted but didn't purchase. What a fool I am!!!! I found out that it can only be purchased on the ship! I am a woman in need of this bag! I was wondering if you would be interested in helping this fellow women in need! I know I'm asking a lot but here it goes. With your cruise coming up, could you purchase this bag for me & have it shipped directly from the ship to me? I would be eternally grateful!!!! If you are interested we could arrange payment. If you're not interested, I completely understand.

Thanks for your consideration.

Is anyone planning on doing the mixology or tasting classes? Just wondering if anyone would like to have a meetup over some drink making :)

Definitely doing some mixology classes/beer tasting/ martini tasting/ cognac tasting/tequila tasting/ I could go on and on, but you get the idea. As many as possible. Actually learned a lot last cruise about tequila. It was great. But, with my bad memory, I must take the class again, just so it sinks in!:rotfl:

I'm not sure how to arrange a meet that way. I think the offerings change from cruise to cruise. But I will definitely keep an eye out for you PyxiiDustt. Although, if there is more than one of these in an afternoon, I may see two of you. Hopefully DW will be with me to make sure I don't get too out of hand.

Wow. I, awhile ago, talked DW into Universal Studios for the Friday and Saturday that we get back. Eeeck just checked the ticket prices. 135 each for a 2 day/2 park ticket. AND, ~ 110 each for 2 days for their version of the fast pass. Interesting that they charge for it. But most of the reading I've done says it's worth the cost. Especially if it is a crowded day. I'm anticipating crowds at Harry Potter as the last movie is released the day we disembark, our first day at US. I guess it's safe to presume a higher interest in Hogwarts with the movie hype that will be surrounding those days. Anybody else doing something similar???

No, we are coming in one day early. I just completed my on-line check in for Port Orleans - FQ. Emily is going to do BBB at DTD that night, probably a temporary tatto and face painting. We are eating at the Earl of Sandwich. I think that's what it is called. I love their sandwiches.

Emily is too young for Harry Potter. I watched the first couple of movies when they came out. I think the Hogwart's/Harry Potter thing at Universal looks pretty neat. I wouldn't mind visiting it.

We're going to Universal before the cruise, next Thursday and Friday (wow - can't believe it's so close!). Mainly to check out WWHP; DD and I are both big Harry Potter fans and are a little bummed that we won't be able to go to the midnight showing the morning of the 15th, but we'll be on a cruise so I guess we can't complain. :goodvibes FYI - you get the Universal Express Pass for free if you stay in one of their hotels (we are staying at RPH) and the hotel pass is good for multiple rides on the same attraction; I think (but am not positive) that the Express Pass you buy separately is only good for one ride on each attraction. Also, the main HP ride - Forbidden Journey - doesn't accept any express pass, nor do 2 other attractions (Hulk and one of the roller coasters, I think). Just something to check out before you spend the money.

DD and I just got back from a week's stay at POFQ; the hotel was very nice. Weather was WAY too humid for us but we had a great time anyway. Now a week at home and then back to Orlando again! (Combination of a good opportunity and poor planning on my part......:sad2: )

FE participants - just updated the spreadsheet with the names of the 2 children we were missing so you might want to check it out.

We leave in a week...not sure what we are doing next Thurs, but going to sea world on Friday...Sat staying over at the port.....I cannot believe it is almost here.:thumbsup2
