July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

HAPPYONTHELAKE, check out cabin 8010 when you go see if that is a good location. It's the cabin we are in!

WELCOME, underthesea2010!!!

No problem -- In fact, I will happily be a stateroom spy for anyone in 27 days. We are in 8612&8614 for our Mar 13 cruise. So in my attempts to walk off dessert and grown up drinks I will take notes for anyone who asks.

Yes, I'd volunteered. :) So far only a few folks have shown interest; here's the list of those who have mentioned participating.

Hello Fellow DREAMERS!!!!!

I am planning on snorkeling at CC and already have my stuff. Do I still need to pay a fee???? I was thinking about scuba diving, but with just me and my daughter going I didn't want to take a risk of leaving her too long.

Any thoughts?
Have a wonderful, magical day!!!!:wizard:

No, we took a snorkle, mask and fins last time we went and did not have to pay. That was 3 years ago.

Hello Everyone,

Nice list LV Disney Fan(atic), I had a list started on paper. Your's is so much more comprehensive.

I don't check in for a few days, and the crowd grows:yay::woohoo:

Don't know if we will be doing the FE. I leave that up to DW. She hasn't checked in on this one yet. She is all wrapped up in planning the Spring Break WDW trip.

LV Disney Fan(atic), Me (John) DW: Teresa; DS(16) John; DD(10) Kait. DD insists on the "Kait" over Kaitlin.

I was thinking of The Cove over the weekend and how nice it would be to walk in and grap a snack off one of the display shelves.

I'm a newb here, but this will be my DH's and my's 3rd Disney Cruise (one on each boat! :cool1:) and my DS (8mo) 2nd cruise.

DH-DJ age 25
Me- Kim age 26
DS- Casen (8mo, will be 13mos on the cruise!)

We are SOOOOOOOOOO excited to go.

We will be traveling with my entire in-law families and a friend's family for a total of 12 of us! :thumbsup2 It's going to be a crazy trip!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi everyone...we're getting more excited every day. All the trip reports, photos, and videos add to the anticipation.

Just to add, my DD will be 10 [almost 11] on the cruise. My wife and I are a bit older ;^).

Bob
Sandy
Celena

Bob, nothing wrong with being a bit older, I will be celebrating my 50th (gasp) on the cruise with our kids ranging in age from 28-14 plus our granddaughter age 2...

Older parents are great! Notice I left my age off below.

Hey, rriley25, my DD is 10 and will be 2 months shy of 11 on the cruise. Yeah, I'm a bit older too - at least physically. Inside, not so much.

As I say to some people, I have 2 kids - my poor wife has 3, one of which is older than she is.:)

to reply to camikey, I don't even bring a snorkel. I just use googles and no need to pay. They have lots of the inflatable life jackets hanging on the lifeguard stands. I thinkd it was mandatory to wear one. I was able to find the Mickey and Minnie statues and the old sub from 20,000 leagues under the sea.

I love "snorkeling" around Castaway Key.

You know I hate to ask this but I'm booked on this cruise with my family (DH and 2 kids under 16) and I'm trying to decide whether to keep it or do a park stay instead.

For this cruise, since it only goes to the Bahamas, is it possible to travel without a passport if you are a US citizen? Our last 2 cruises a few years ago we were able to go with birth certificates and driver's licenses. I realize the benefits of a passport, and I'm not trying to start a debate but does someone know the rules?

Yes, you can travel on just a BC and DL -- same way you did your last cruises.

Thanks for answering! I did poke around enough somewhere (DCL site I think) and eventually found the same answer you gave. Now I just need to give some serious thought as to whether we want to keep the cruise or do a park week instead. I know how wonderful the cruises were last time and I'd love to see the new ship. I'm sure I can't go wrong with either choice!

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Selket, you won't go wrong either way - trip or cruise. Yeah, I've had some misgivings about the cruise. More than I would normally have paid, especially when we could do a 7 day for the same price.

Still, looking forward to the new ship. Also, this will be the first cruise with a veranda. This may be another of those moments when I realize life is too short, and I need to spoil myself more in the future with more verandas and cruises.

Did our taxes yesterday. The refund will cover the cruise. Normally do the taxes by hand. Used TurboTax for the first time. Definitely easier and I didn't need a calculator. Now we'll see if the e-filing thing brings the money in faster. It's going to Disney one way or the other. I really should buy stock for how much I seem to help their sales.:rotfl:

I can't wait!!!!! I have my list of thing to pack for myself and my DD. She is a bit young for that. I'm looking forward to ME time!!!!!!!

I know - it is like trying to choose between two delicious desserts - no one would feel sorry for me - LOL!

We file electronically and get our refunds sometimes within a week or two (direct deposit). It always seems to arrive more quickly than I expect.

I haven't done a verandah yet - I've done the inside room and liked it so I booked that (oh...back Nov. 2009 - like a million years ago!). I found I slept really well in that nice dark room! Trying to think of the positives here...er....looking forward to my virtual porthole....:rotfl:

I listened to the DIS Unplugged Podcast today with their review of the Dream - made me even more excited to see it myself! :cool1: Overall they really liked it - said it was very elegant, comfortable beds, great food, friendly staff, amazing kids clubs, good adult entertainment areas - but had a few areas for improvement - the adult pool area is poorly laid out, the lip on the floor going into the bathroom is too high and makes people trip, the aft elevators empty awkwardly into Cabanas - nothing major. Fun to listen to if you get a chance.

Thanks FF...yes, I'm just a big kid too [a 54 yo kid]. LOL

It's still months away and I am very excited about it. I can't imagine what I'll be like this summer!
