I want to take some juiceboxes for ds. I figure they would blow up if I sent them with the luggage, but would they be okay in my carryon?

Has anyone successfully taken caprisun or little cardboard juiceboxes on planes?

Yes, they will be fine. Anything that you would normally eat or drink is fine in your carryon.

Also will you have a drink service on your flight? If you do, I'd just bring a sippy cup and ask the flight attendent to fill it with juice. Sometimes the juice boxes can be messy - not because of the plane but because of those little kiddos squeezing them! :teeth:

oh, yeah there is absolutely NO WAY he is opening one on the plane! :earseek: He would definitely end up spraying someone three rows up! I just want to take them to have with us in teh diaper bag in the parks each day, and so I was going to take a pack of the little motts ones. I usually dump them into a sippy cup and fill it the rest of the way with water, cuz i dont like him getting too much sugar or else no one gets to sleep :rotfl:

I have always brought juice boxes/pouches on the plane and actually encourage my kiddos (when they were younger and unable to chew gum) to drink from the straws during take-off and landing for their ears. they also come in handy to have in your carry-on if your plane is delayed. They were a lifesaver last year when we were delayed. We actually shared ours with another family with very tired, hungry children. highly advise having a few with you in a carry-on. I also bring interesting snacks with us in the bag too just in case of delays. Nothing worse than tired, hungry kids trapped in the airport.

ditto
My kids doctor actually suggested we use them for take off & landing. Something to do with the pressure that builds inside them.

Definitely use them during take off and landing. Our children didn't want to drink from their straw cups until up in the air and when they opened them the juice came flying up out of the straw.

we've never had a problem with juice boxes on planes and our 4 year old has flown quite a few times. Definitley good for taking off/landing, especially if it's his forst flight.

They should be fine in check in or carry on. When I was checking in people for Mex and Carib flights, families would check in whole coolers. Your hairspray, shampoo and other toiletries that are liquids don't explode, so why would your non-carbonated juice boxes? They won't. Even carbonated beverages make it through check-in just fine. We always pack sodas for cruises, so I've btdt. So, if it's easier, you can put a few in the carry on to use as you travel and store the rest in check-in. Since they aren't cans, I'd put them in a plastic tub or shoe box before packing to keep them from getting crushed. Actually, I have done that with juice boxes and snacks now that I think of it. It worked beautifully.
