Wow, what a wonderful woman. I found her number on this site yesterday (Sunday) gave her a call and left a voice mail. I figured she'd call back today, Monday. She called me within about 1.5 hours after I called her. She has been very helpful in answering questions for me and helping me find a guide (Julie Hughes) that I had back in 2004. I really look forward to doing business with DVC if everyone is as pleasant as she was. I highly recommend her!
:goodvibes

yes she is my guide!!! and is definitely nice. she answers all the questions she can. and nothing is to small for her. I have a bunch of 25 points contracts.

I am new to dvc and considering buying. My question is, why have several small contracts?

I may not understand the policies, help me out...

If I buy 160 AKV and my use year starts in may, can't I book all 160 at another villas, lets say boardwalk in June? Am I missing something? Do you have to spend part of your stay at your home resort?

Use year has nothing to do with making reservations. Home resort does. If you owned AKV points and wanted to take a vacation in June 2008, you could call in July 2007 to make a reservation at AKV (home resort advantage = 11-month window). If you wanted a June 2008 reservation at a different resort, you couldn't call until November 2007 (non-home resort = 7-month window).

You do not have to 'spend' any points at your home resort. You can use them all at any other resort you want. Your only restriction is you can't make any reservation more than 7-months ahead.

Your use year simply determines which set of points is used (which year's points) for your specific reservation.

Oh, okay. So the biggest disadvantage of not staying at your home resort is booking time. Are there any other disadvantages of not staying at your home resort? Are the point charges different for each villa? I know AKV is $104(before the $8 pp credit), what are the point costs at the different villas (for initial buy-in)?

Count me as another Judy fan!

She probably thought I was the easiest sale ever. I called DVC, was assigned to JUDY, told her I had researched DVC, I was ready to buy, and when could she send the paperwork for me to sign?! :rotfl:

She just laughed! Must happen often. :)

Judy is our guide too. We could not ask for a better guide.

Judy is our guide too. We really like her, she's very patient, very helpful and such a pleasure to talk to! We were very lucky to get her as our guide!

Judy is not my guide, but she impressed me too.

A few years ago (when they used to have early morning DVC meetings at OKW) she came over to us and said she remembered seeing us at previous meetings and we had a pleasant chat with her.

Maybe it was my DH's affection for the free breakfast she really remembered ;)

I am new to dvc and considering buying. My question is, why have several small contracts?

they are easiler to get rid of - if the worst happens. and you need to sell some of your DVC.

if you only have one contract - then that is it - you have to sell that contract.

if you have a few smaller ones - then you can sell them off - and still be a DVC member.

that isn't why I did it. 25 points is the smallest that DVC will sell you - both my BWV contracts are 25 points each.

with VWL I knew I would need 60 points. So again a small contract.

Judy is my guide too! She was so helpful and PATIENT when I was considering first purchasing and she is always fast to return calls.

So glad I was assigned to her!!!

judy isnt my guide but i seen her on a dcl cruise she was giving a presentation on dvc. she was really nice

Judy is indeed a great lady!!! She was our guide when we bought in 1994 and she always calls us when she knows we are at WDW. They don't get any better than that!!!! My cousin had a situation when she was in the market to buy and her guide wasn't calling back. She kind of put it on the back burner. We were all at WDW when my cousin mentioned the situation and I immediately called Judy for my cousin, and of course, Judy contacted her ASAP and she bought at Boardwalk.......some sad news though, my cousin has since passed away and her DH and DD's are soooo glad that she was able to enjoy DVC and DCL before she passed on. She loved Disney all of her adult like......you should see her house and especially her bathroom.....all Disney!!

Hi! Can someone post or PM me her phone #? I had it at one time, but I'm not sure where it is now. She was very helpful to me when my guide was too busy. Thanks!

I don't know who Judy is, but Julie is my guide, and she is great!! No pressure at all, shes been doing this forever!!! I purchased resale and did 3 addons through Julie and she is easy to work with and very pleasant!!!

Julie Hughes-Vivas was my guide in 2004. Judy K. talked to me and gave me all the info I requested, but promptly put me back in touch with my original guide Julie. she is awesome also.
