Juan says "BAAAA!" - 12/24 - Our last few Disney hours. COMPLETE

We left off after a nice dip in the pool. We went back to our room to clean-up, then were off again to MK.

643643658_Ymp5b-M.jpg

On the bus ride over Joe voiced that he was hungry.

Our conversation went something like this:

Me: "You should have ate at the pool bar, it was great!"
Joe: "I'll just get that tuna sandwich at the park."

:headache:

Arg. If I had known he was going to want to eat at the park, I would have starved myself and skipped the pool bar since I really like CHH and most all of you know my love affair with the Corn Dog Nuggets as Casey's. At this time I wasn't hungry in the least. Since this was our only planning MK day, I had the sinking feeling there would be no Casey's in my MK future. No Casey's means no beloved Corn Dog Nuggets. :sad1:

I shook it off, we were coming back in December, we were coming back in December. It's just food, it's just food. ::yes::

We arrived at MK and this time leisurely strolled through the gates.

Since I didn't get Henry's reaction to the Castle during our morning rush, I took it this time. Each time we come to MK, I get a picture of his face.

643659183_LjsQQ-O.jpg

Someday he'll be excited...

MK is beautiful normally, but I really do love the oranges, yellows and browns of the fall decorations!

Joe and Henry aimed for CHH for his tuna sandwich, while I ventured to Tomorrowland to snag Buzz FPs.

I wanted to get a "Henry behind bars" picture-another one I have taken each trip. Walking into Tomorrowland I instantly noticed the TTA was NOT running. :sad2: I swear I heard it this morning...I thought it was supposed to open just days before our arrival...bummmmmmer!

The wait time for Buzz was a whopping 10 minutes. :woohoo:

The no-lines we experienced this morning were still happening! Planning an MK day on a day where it closes at 7 pm for MNSSHP, without Spectro was a smart move.

Joe had just gotten his food, and they had given Henry a free bag of grapes! I noticed he had chips with his meal

643658788_Hg74d-O.jpg

643658774_GTNas-O.jpg

and I asked why he didn't get fries. He told me there wasn't an option.

Since when? :confused3

Knowing he would like fries better (and well, I would too...:rolleyes1), I took the chips back up and asked a CM. He said that the combo meals no longer came with fries, unless you asked for them and there was a slight charge. I must have looked disappointed, because he told me to wait right there - and then came back with piping hot fries! I handed the chips over to him and he insisted I keep them.

A bag of grapes (Joe didn't even ask for these!) and fries. How very unexpected and kind! :wizard:

Joe polished off his meal and we were soon off to Tomorrowland,

where Joe too noticed no TTA and commented about how he thought he heard it this morning. They must have just been working on it. Sigh. All well, December, right?

Onto Buzz! I pulled out the FPs and then we saw the waittime of 5 minutes.

643658622_exvaQ-O.jpg

Five stinkin' minutes! :yay:

I stuffed the FPs back in my bag and in we went. Henry spotted Buzz and was just mezmerized by him. He's never seen the Toy Story movies, but I'm thinkin' he'll like 'em...

643658600_vqQXR-O.jpg

643658583_6EB2J-O.jpg

He pointed the entire time we were in line. Even today, he sees a Buzz toy in the store, and he's gotta play!

643658573_QSpxC-O.jpg

We walked straight onto a ride vehicle and we were off. Henry started on my lap to "help" me - I told him to "Shoot those zurgs!" He was laughing and pointing at things, really enjoying it.

643658516_hTocJ-O.jpg

Then he moved to the middle of the car, then onto Joe's lap. Now I could really focus....I hit some nice, nice Zurgs. And Joe was flipping out at my score during each little break. Muahahaha!!

The only one I remember hitting and getting a giant score for was a volcano way in the back - it erupts after you hit it. Kinda neat!

So I kicked Joe's booty the time WITH a kid on my lap for half the ride. Oh ya!

643658493_Su3ny-O.jpg

Mine.

643658425_4mzLK-O.jpg

Joe's.

643657628_SxySm-O.jpg

I get a little competitive and serious sometimes with these sorts of rides....he he.

After the ride, Henry was more than excited to get behind bars with Zurg!

643658257_fUgy6-O.jpg

He already knew what to do!

January 2009:

And then it was off to Monster's Inc Laugh Floor - a wait time posted of 5 minutes. I'm lovin' this!

We filed into the theater and the show started. I couldn't remember if it was the same as the previous show we had seen in November 2008, but regardless, it was funny!

Then the Buddy Boil came on to read someone's mind. The spotlight was going around the theater and it stopped...

ON ME!

Whoa!

Okay!

He asked me to think of a number between 1 and 500 (or something along those lines-I was a bit shocked still that I was picked), and the CM shoved a mic in my face to tell everyone the number...(what is the point of that?)

So I whispered it.

"Five" (which is the number I always pick for these games!)

The Monster whispers back, "Thank you" :rotfl:

Which cracked everyone up. Including Henry, very loudly-into the microphone...which just made everyone laugh even more!

Then he made me put my hands on my head like antenna and bleat like a goat.

I remember thinking, "Did he just say like a goat? Dude, you don't know what you are in for." :rolleyes1

I'm not a very talented person. I can't sing worth a darn. I can't play any instrument. I can't even clap on beat.

But, I can make several, very life-like animal noises.

A goat is my specialty.

I clear my throat and do my best goat into the microphone, the crowd erupts. Henry claps and shrieks and then lets out a VERY loud "BAAAAAAAAA!" STRAIGHT into the microphone. :rotfl2:

The Monster pops his eyes open, and guesses some crazy number -and I tell him "Nope, sorry!" and the show is ended as he's yanked off stage.

Joe poked me and laughed - Henry continued to bleat like a sheep, very, very loudly for the rest of the show (which was only a couple more minutes). Everyone was laughing, so it wasn't very noticeable...but it continued, every minute or so, he'd let out, on top of his lungs, a big 'ol "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Hence, part of the trip report title. (the other part you are gonna have to wait for...)

This "BAAAAAAA!"'ing did not end. For the entire trip. And all the way home. We had a bleating child for about a week after the trip. And even about a week ago, he let one rip randomly. This is the only thing we can associate it back to.

Kids are crazy, aren't they?! I LOVE IT!! :goodvibes

Up next: Henry's favorite attraction of the trip!

Jill got some kind of toy for 54 cents at Target this weekend. It was on sale for ten something at Toys R Us, so she took the ad in and they matched it, then she had a ten dollar off coupon, so it ended up being 49 cents plus tax. She was quite satisfied with her purchase.

So many times have I cleaned my kitchen at 2 a.m.! Might as well be productive when you can't sleep, right?

We got Henry a little something for NYE. If he has to hang out with strangers for the night, he at least should get a little something for his trouble. :) So, if he doesn't already have it, don't get him a small-sized Color Wonder Cars coloring pad and markers. We were going to get him one of the Cars cars, but we figured he had them all, so we went with this. If he does have one, let me know and I'll exchange it for something else.

I bet Jill got the Leapfrog Alphabet caterpillar thing! I knew about that deal, and wanted to do it - but, I couldn't think of anyone to buy it for. Now, I just realized, my niece would have been PERFECT. All well! I'm sure I'll find something else equally as great! Way to go Jill for snagging it!!!! :thumbsup2

That is what I figured last night/this morning. I was laying there looking at the ceiling. The raspberries that I bought earlier in the week but hadn't had a chance to wash and freeze were on my mind. I didn't want them to mold before I could freeze them. Might as well get up. So, it started with washing raspberries, turned into scrubbing counters. :rotfl: Felt good this morning to have a clean kitchen!

Henry doesn't have the Color Wonder Cars - he will LOVE it!! (and such a great item for our stuck indoors 24/7 cold Minnesota winters) He doesn't have all the Cars cars yet...but, he will be getting some for Christmas for sure. Who knows who all he will end up with! I have Brooklynn and Bella on my list as well! Brooklynn's favorite is Ariel still, right?

Awww...I'm so behind but I'm glad I was able to finally get all caught up!!! Your pictures of the resort are amazing!!! I'm so glad you guys had such a great afternoon!! The pictures of Henry are adorable and you can tell he had a great time at the pool!!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one running behind on TRs! :goodvibes We did really have a nice afternoon lounging around and soaking in the sun!

December isn't that far away, you will be ready to go before you know it :)

It's almost too close, it's just gonna fly right by. I figure if I do a little trip work each day I'll get enough done that the night before won't be completely insane.

Lol! A funny laugh floor experience there, lucky you do a good goat impression :)

Those "behind bars" shots are so cute, seeing Henry growing up :)

This pic is v cool, looks like Mickey is wearing a party hat

643659091_MV6py-O.jpg

That was nice of the CM in CHH to get you some fries to go with your meal and you got to keep the chips too :)

I can't believe I just popped in to read a few TRs before I needed to do more "stuff" and I found an update that is hot off the press! :woohoo:

Many comments:

1. Wow....to the low park crowds. :thumbsup2

2. Bummer to no TTA. :confused3

3. :thumbsup2 to the extra grapes and fries! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 to the nice CM for getting them for you.

4. Henry behind the bars is so cute. Boy has he grown! I wonder how many more trips you'll take until he just can't quite fit.

5. I had to pick the number once in Monster's Inc. I totally froze. I got the worst case of stage fright - ever! My mouth was so dry I could barely speak. This from someone who gets up in front of people ever week to sing. Just shows how spontaneous I am....NOT!

6. Lovely pics!

Agggg - fear of being picked is the one thing that has kept me out of Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, I'd be mortified! :lmao:

I love the pictures of Henry behind bars - he's getting to be such a big boy.

Love the Zurg-jail pic and your little comedian! And props for such a great score!

YAY for no waits and no lines that is always the best way to tour!!!!

I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy in your corn dog nugget goodness this trip but I'm sure you will make sure you get them in December!!!

Henry's pictures behind the bars is way too cute!!!! He is so cute!!!!

Okay your Monster Laugh Floor story is way too funny!! I could just imagine it now!!! Henry and his BBAAAAAAAAs LOL!!!!

Great update!

Score on the potato feast at CHH and for a little nutrition, grapes too!

I always laugh at the people they choose. The interaction is always so funny. I don't know anyone who's been chosen for that! How cool was that? or was it? I know some folks prefer not to be in the spotlight...

Great update Brook!!! Sorry about no corn dog nuggets! I was tempted to try them in your honor a few weeks ago! But, I don't think I've ever had a corn dog so I was kinda unsure.

We noticed to that they offer fries on a lot of the menu now too. But, I asked because I knew DH wasn't going to eat Sun Chips!

The Monsters Inc story had me laughing out loud!! OMG, to darn funny :rotfl2:

Your MK pics are beautiful!! I love the different angles!! The comparison of Henry behind the bars with Zurg is adorable!!

Can't wait for more!!

What a shame you weren't hungry at MK :(, but score on the fries and the grapes at CHH! :thumbsup2

Your pictures always make me feel like I am right there in the middle of the magic! :goodvibes

Henry is so funny knowing what to do with Emperor Zurg! :lmao:

Okay, the story of your experience at Monsters Laugh Floor is priceless!!! Thanks for a great laugh this evening!!!

Sorry you missed your lovely Corn Dog Nuggets. It happens sometimes that our favorite Disney treats just don't make it in our tummies!

I am totally amazed at the empty MK!

Love the Toy Story Bars pic! He has really gotten big!

Great update. the pictures are beautiful. I want a tuna sandwich now!

Awesome update, Brook. Love the story at the Laugh Floor. :rotfl2:

Thanks! Joe and I were laughing the entire night (and trip) about the "BAAAA"ing coming from our stroller!

Lol! A funny laugh floor experience there, lucky you do a good goat impression :)

I didn't even notice that about Mickey wearing a party hat! How appropriate to the 2009 theme, eh? :goodvibes

I can't believe I just popped in to read a few TRs before I needed to do more "stuff" and I found an update that is hot off the press! :woohoo:

6. Lovely pics!

I have a picture in my mind of Henry at about 13 standing in front of Zurg with his arms crossed on his chest and he's rolling his eyes. :rotfl:

I was really shocked to have been picked! Thankfully I'm not one to get real nervous in one of those situations - I always feel so bad for those that melt in front of the camera. I think it was this past trip where they chose someone who LITERALLY ran off camera! I felt sooooo bad for them! Needless to say, they didn't go back to her!

Agggg - fear of being picked is the one thing that has kept me out of Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, I'd be mortified! :lmao:

I love the pictures of Henry behind bars - he's getting to be such a big boy.

The odds of getting picked are pretty slim, but that light they shine on you is BRIGHT! It really does take you aback for a second or two! Joe would be very embarrassed if they chose him, if he got chosen to be the dancer, I think he wouldn't participate, but otherwise he might-but he wouldn't like it!

The pictures of Henry behind bars kinda shocked me! I didn't realize the big change between November and January - and then to September! In January he still had baby legs with little rolls! :cutie:

Hahaha...I was lol'ing at the Monsters Inc part!

:rotfl2: It was really fun! I remember looking at Henry for a brief second during it all, he was just giggling so much! I'm sure he hadn't a clue what was going on, but liked that his Mommy was doing funny things and making weird noises!!!!

The Monsters Inc Floor part if hilarious! It's priceless!

It is something we won't ever forget, that's for sure! We'll have a good story to tell Henry as he grows up about that attraction. I hope someday when he's older he gets picked! Hee hee!

Love the Zurg-jail pic and your little comedian! And props for such a great score!

Thanks! I was literally dancing in my chair when I saw that score! Joe was pretend pouting about it - I just rubbed it in his face....in a loving way, of course! :lmao: :goodvibes

I was so elated with those short lines. It was awesome!

And yes, Corn Dog Nuggets will probably be considered a MUST DO attraction for me in December. Yummmmmmm. I just hope the line isn't insanely long for it - hmmm...I think I better devise a touring plan to achieve the Nuggets. ::yes::

It was ridiculous how LOUD his BAAAAAAAAing was, and how often! and it would happen completely randomly - in line for stuff, walking around, waiting, eating, etc. I'm sure many people were like, "Did that kid just bleat?" :rotfl2:

Score on the potato feast at CHH and for a little nutrition, grapes too!

I always laugh at the people they choose. The interaction is always so funny. I don't know anyone who's been chosen for that! How cool was that? or was it? I know some folks prefer not to be in the spotlight...

I likee potato fest! :goodvibes I have to say, we had zero issue polishing off the chips AND the fries...

It was cool! I am not one to throw myself in the spotlight, but I don't mind being in it either. I used to be in drama and on the speech team, all that sorta stuff. It's kinda fun to be challenged to think/perform on your feet.

Your MK pics are beautiful!! I love the different angles!! The comparison of Henry behind the bars with Zurg is adorable!!

Can't wait for more!!

You've never had a corn dog?!?! I thought they were a Great American Staple! Wow. I guess out there, the hot dogs are so good you don't need to bread and deep fry them.

Isn't it crazy to see how much he has grown in a year??! Where does the time go!!!

Thanks CP! I try to take a ton of pictures - basically a walking tour of what we are doing! :goodvibes It helps tide me over between trips too.

And your welcome on the laugh! It was a really fun time!

Sorry you missed your lovely Corn Dog Nuggets. It happens sometimes that our favorite Disney treats just don't make it in our tummies!

I am totally amazed at the empty MK!

Love the Toy Story Bars pic! He has really gotten big!

Isn't it a shame that our tummies just can't handle enough for ALL of our favorite treats? I always want to eat EVERYTHING, but with heat and walking and all that - I never seem to quite fit it all in...

The empty MK was awesome! It was a really great night to do MK. I'm going to remember that combo for future trips. Our time was shorter because the park closed at 7:00 pm, but we had zero issue getting everything we wanted (except one thing....! :sad2:)

The bars pics surprised me too! I hadn't realized how much he changed between January and now. He's a big boy now!

Great update. the pictures are beautiful. I want a tuna sandwich now!

:lmao: those tuna sandwiches are the BEST. Yummmmmy!

The pic of Claire in your siggy - she is on a carousel - is that at the Kalahari? It looks like a similar carousel as to what they have, and being you are from Ohio and they have one.... Anyway, they are so cute! Love it!
