Juan says "BAAAA!" - 12/24 - Our last few Disney hours. COMPLETE

Awe poor baby. He was starving.

I remember eating a hot dog(not chili dog) at the American pavillion. I didn't know they had changed the menu.

For how long it took you to get that hot dog, you could have made it to Casey's and gotten him some real food...Corn Dog Nuggets of course!!! :rotfl:

Isn't the old commercial that used to say (some of you may be too young to remember it) "baseball, hot dogs, apple Pie and Chevrolet" Those were all the American things!

Great update! Fun that you could meet Joe's cousin and fiance and enjoy an adult meal. I have 5 kids and I could never get any of them to sleep in the stroller! I cannot believe you had to wait that long for a hot dog!

Up next: How many donut holes can one man eat?

Ah, a man after my dh's own heart! He  him some donut holes!

He was! It was not fun. I felt SO bad. All that Mommy guilt rearing its ugly head.

Yep, now (pulled from AllEars.net): Hot Dog with chili and cheese - with grapes or fries. I wish they had them on the kids menu. Looking at the kids menu again now, I see PB&J. I think that the time Henry hadn't had much peanut butter and we didn't want to risk an allergic reaction at Epcot! Thankfully, he's now had lots of peanut butter and NO allergies. :goodvibes

That is a VERY good point! :headache: I had thought, before Shula's, we would just eat that night at Casey's so I could get the Beloved Nuggets of Gold. However, Shula's won out.... If we would have just gone to MK and gotten them, I so woulda stuffed one in!!!

You'd think!! :rotfl:

It was WONDERFUL to meet them and have a meal with them! DJ and I chat over email quite a bit now-all trip planning stuff. He's basically planned the whole wedding!

I knew my DH liked donuts, but whoa!!! :rotfl: I'm surprised the Dessert Party didn't run out of them...;)

Awww, Poor Henry. Sometimes when I'm really hungry I want to cry too. I feel his pain.

I'm so glad you were able to meet Joe's cousin before the Wedding. Sounds like you had a really nice meal. I wouldn't have taken food pictures either...you wouldn't want the gossip at the Wedding to be that you have some crazy food picture taking fetish. :rotfl2:

I have never heard much about Shula's but your review has my mouth watering! Sounds like you had a lovely visit with Joe's cousin and fiancee -- you are going to have a great time with them in New Orleans!

Poor Henry sobbing and poor you waiting forever for a hot dog!!! :sad2:

Shula's sounds absolutely awesome!

Ain't it great when you meet new relatives and you connect!

Every once in awhile service at WDW goes off the hinges. It's rare, but it happens.

I just feel bad the Henry got the short end of the stick. That hot dog was SO GREASY.

Shulas sounds really good, must go check out the menu :)

Poor Henry, it is not on waiting 35mins for a plain hot dog and to have it come out greasy in the end.

Looking forward to your DP review :)

It's nice that you got to have a grown-up meal in a fancy place and enjoy adult conversation without even having to hire a babysitter. Good boy, Henry, for timing that nap so nicely! :thumbsup2

That steak sounds like our Kona steak - so good. We haven't tried Shula's, but I know the guys would love it, so I imagine we will someday.

Thank you for the palm tree picture on this cold winter Tennessee morning. :)

what a fun and interesting trip report! you have given me quite a few ideas for our upcoming trip. it's so nice to read trip reports and see how others tour the parks.

Shula's sounds great! I'm with you, I totally would have felt out of place taking pictures of the food. Henry must be a heavy sleeper; none of my kids would have slept through the entire meal! :thumbsup2

Wow, what an ordeal to get a greasy hot dog. :sad2:

Can't wait to hear about the dessert party...although I guess I'll have to read about next week. We leave in 3 hours!!! :yay:

I was just thinking the same thing as the PP. My Alexa would have never slept through a whole meal! She is such a light sleeper- ugggh! Glad you got to have an adult only meal and conversation:thumbsup2
Cant wait to hear about the lovely dessert party

Your meal at Shula's sounds wonderful!! Yummy, yummy and more yummy!! Poor Henry and being so hungry and poor you for that wait! Crazy!!

You asked the "How many donut holes can one man eat?" question, I speak from experience when I say an incredibly large, perhaps even mind blowing, amount ;)

I know I posted a response on your last update yesterday, but it's nowhere to be found :confused3

Anyway, it went something like this -

Poor Henry! I can't believe you had to wait 35 minutes for a stupid hot dog - they really should have given you your money back :sad2:

That's wonderful that you were able to meet up with Joe's cousin and his fiance and have such a nice dinner. Odds are they won't have a lot of time to chat during the wedding trip, so this gave you a great opportunity to get to know them!

Can't wait for dessert party pics!! (I need my drooling smilie, but I'm too lazy to open my photobucket ;) )

I'm with everyone else here - that meal at shula's sounds amazing. I probably would have felt a tad out of place , too. But what the heck, its dark in there. :rotfl2: Glad you got to meet with you family and I'm sure the wedding will be a blast.

As for Henry - poor baby - I had a feeling he was in for a major nap. But that stinks when a little boy wakes up starving and you can't find a decent thing for him to eat in a reasonable amount of time. Sheesh! I remember those days. You can't do a thing to remedy the situation and you feel like everyone is looking at you with a crying baby.

Can't wait to see some pics from the dessert party.

Poor Henry.
Isn't it great that kids have stomaches made of steal?
Was it man or baby that ate, "how many donuts".

Anyway, interesting about Shula's, glad you had a great time. When we go to the convention in Feb., we have to stay 2 nites over at the Ritz. I was so intimated last year, but I got over it fairly fast. Most were impressed that I left everyday and took myself over to WDW by myself. Conciere' was like, "but don't you want a driver?" Nope, just give me my rental and I'm out of here. And, just as I said that, a VIP CM from WDW was walking some family out to a limo to go to the MK. :rotfl:

Awww...poor Henry and Mommy! I remember that feeling, especially when they're younger! It gets better, I promise. All that for a greasy hot dog, eh? :rotfl2: I'm glad you guys had such great company and a great meal at Shula's! Sounds very yummy and fun!

Heather

Wow! I never knew that Schula's has a cheap 3 course dinner before a certain time! That is awesome!! I laughed out loud when you said you felt like a dork in your park gear, I think that is why we have yet to eat at Jiko. :rotfl:

Awwww...poor Henry! At least he finally got that greasy hot dog.

I'm with ya! When I get really hungry it very much makes me want to cry. I don't, but I do whine sometimes...;)

EXACTLY on the "picture taking fetish" thing!!!! :lmao:

It was so.very.good. I would eat there again in a second. The service was amazing, a beautiful restaurant and the food....gaaaaaaaah, delish! I might schedule it in for our 2010 trip. I want more of that asparagus!

I felt so bad for Henry. I was so stressed during it all because he was crying!

Shula's sounds absolutely awesome!

The service as Shula's was the best service we have ever gotten at a Disney restaurant. Superb! Usually Disney's is good-but I wouldn't say any better than our local diner here in town, but these guys...they were there when we needed them and not when we didn't! :thumbsup2

The hot dog was super ick. :sad2:

Shulas sounds really good, must go check out the menu :)

The menu at Shula's is all good if you are a meat eater!

Dessert Party coming up SOON!

:rotfl: He did do a good job, didn't he? :goodvibes

Oh ya, your boys would love, love Shula's. All that meat!! I'll have to try that Kona steak, maybe our 2010 trip. Hmmmm

You are very welcome on the picture. I think I need to scroll back and look at it too. It's 1 degree here. One. :headache:

what a fun and interesting trip report! you have given me quite a few ideas for our upcoming trip. it's so nice to read trip reports and see how others tour the parks.

:welcome: Thanks for reading and posting! I'm glad I helped give you some ideas. :goodvibes I love that about TRs, the only downside is too many ideas, not enough time!

Shula's sounds great! I'm with you, I totally would have felt out of place taking pictures of the food. Henry must be a heavy sleeper; none of my kids would have slept through the entire meal! :thumbsup2

Henry is a very heavy sleeper. He'll fall asleep in the noisiest places and not budge! It's a blessing. He's slept through quite a few dinner meals in his life already too. :rotfl:

You are gone by now, and having a WONDERFUL time I'm sure!!!!! You are getting some gorgeous weather!
