Just thought I would share this. I went onto the dvc site and they must read these boards, because this was posted:

Ugh! Playing with the points, is like playing with my emotions, MAN!!
Back to the planning board.![]()
I've always heard that 1 bedrooms are the easiest to book. Many families of 4 would rather book a studio than pay double points for a 1 bedroom for the same number of occupants.I always thought the yearly points total for a "unit" had to remain the same. I didn't think they could spread the points among the room sizes.

For example, Sun-Thurs during Easter break (our usual travel time) for a 2br at BCV jumps from 50 pts/night to 60 ?!?!? Thats 50 more points I'll need for a 5 night stay. That does sound like dvc is luring folks to add on....
Unfortunately for how you travel, you may/will be affected a lot. The reallocation negatively affects the many Sun-Thurs travelers. And since there were so few Fri and Sat nights being used, that's why they had to do this.
This isn't about getting folks to add-on, esp in the sold-out resorts like BCV (yes, you can buy resales, but all points are sold and "out there somewhere"). They can't start churning out more points for any of the resorts to be bought.
I feel for you and not trying to make light of the situation, just trying to help you understand why.![]()
I don't see how this will get sunday to thursday travelers to use their points on the weekend.
Thanks, squidmo!
Here is a link to the 2009 BLT chart ... and yes, they made changes there too which is pretty unbelievable IMO.
I find that unbelievable toowe bought an exact number of points to allow us 5 nights in a 1 bed MK view ever other year but now I find that we're 5 points short. Also with the minimum add on gone up to 100 points there's no chance of doing a small add on
