JPGs of Pulled 2010 Point Charts

Thanks for posting these! About what I expected based on the BCV chart someone else published, but good to know.
Overall this is a good change for us, even though we'll probably use more points each trip. For me, work vacation issues outweigh point issues. I jobshare and my partner rarely takes vacation, so I'm always feeling guilty about her having to cover my weekdays. We've been doing trips splitting time at SOG and DVC, or using points for one weekend night only to minimize the damage. With points allocated a little more evenly, it'll be easier for us to go Friday-Monday, and for me to take fewer weekdays off work. Ultimately, that will result in more trips for us.
For those of us who have trouble getting off work, or who have minimal vacation days, this is probably a good change.

thanks for posting...we usually stay 7 days so the points we used look to be about the same

Same here.

We also do not have the same vacation pattern year after year. So we will make adjustments as usual depending on when we are going, resort, finances, # of people, etc. We did not buy the exact number needed for a particular stay regardless.

I feel for everyone who did this.

Waiting to see what's up with the website/point chart.

Thank you for posting. A lot of people want to see what it looks like.

Thank you for both capturing these, and sharing!! :cool1:

I'm interested to know why they pulled them...:confused3 I thought it was strange that they made these changes to lower weekend and raise weekday points, yet the most recent charts (BLT and VGC) have crazy high weekend points... Did BLT change from 2009 - 2010? Doesn't look like VGC did except a few minor date changes...

Thanks, squidmo! :)

Here is a link to the 2009 BLT chart ... and yes, they made changes there too which is pretty unbelievable IMO.

My theory as to why they were pulled is that there is an error in them. I noticed that BCV totals per week really didn't change (only looking at Magic season, since that's when we travel) but the resorts/views that always matched VWL and BWV(preferred/BW) were a total of 2 pts more. Those charts ALWAYS matched up. Weird huh?

I find that unbelievable too :sad2: we bought an exact number of points to allow us 5 nights in a 1 bed MK view ever other year but now I find that we're 5 points short. Also with the minimum add on gone up to 100 points there's no chance of doing a small add on

Based on what we did stay in 2008 I'd have saved 10 points under the 2010 charts. Based on what I have scheduled for 2009 we'd have saved 14 points using the 2010 charts. Based on what I will schedule for 2010 we will save 12 points.

Since we stay Friday and Saturday nights, it appears we really will save an average of 12 points per year using the new point charts. I like it. But I understand why those who stay mostly Sun - Thurs would be less pleased with the new charts, too.

While others are saying they will stay FEWER days as a result, there will be quite a few people like me who will be able to stay MORE days (probably 1 every other year) as a result of having more points to use with the new charts.

Thanks so much for posting this:goodvibes

I'm really pissed off about this new change....It costs at least 6 points more for the WEEK....never mind each night.

22pts for 1BR for my 2009 trip Sun-Thurs...
Now it is 26...and weekend not much better.

Well our summer trip to HHI which has always been 231 points for the 6 nights is now 255 points. :guilty:

Okay...I'm thoroughly impressed!!! :worship:

Thank you for taking the time to do this. :thumbsup2 I went out to the member website, and of course, the link was removed when I got there.

AGREED! Huge help! THANK YOU!:thumbsup2
I was able to to copy/paste it and get a nice prinit out..I'm planning my 2010 January trip and need to book soon..bet the new dreams book won't be out by then. (I hope this is the final word..I can see us all adjusting our plans and then a totally different points chart is on the site when it finally comes back.) You'd think they'd plan ahead better.....

This will affect me negatively as well. I just did some math on my previous three stays and in 2010 the same vacations will cost me 25, 25 and 20 more points respectively. Not a happy camper here.

I do understand what they are trying to do, but for us it will mean we will be staying there less and therefore spending less money there. I think the same could be said for many DVCers. It may not affect those with lots of points who usually stay through Fri and Sat nights, but it sure does hit those of us with smaller contracts. It these numbers stay true this June will probably be my last 2 BDR stay.

I just went through and plugged in full weeks at Hilton Head and more weeks went up than went down.

Alll two bedroom weeks in all seasons went up.

Some 1 bedrooms and some studio weeks went down while others went up and most weeks in a grandvilla went up.

well now I have to go home and be really nice to DH since he is the one who opted to buy 270 points in case we want to stay in 2 bedrooms though we don't need to. We are a family of 4 one of those 4 only being 1 so our points are okay for the most part.

We only tend to stay one weekend day so I am not really upset about anything.

We are going to look to add on though too since I want home resot booking at a second resort.

They are using DIS as their quality control/beta testers.

LOL -- that's probably true!

We are still within the cancellation period on our BLT contract and my dh and I are weighing our options. We know DVC is entitled to make this kind of decision, but it's upsetting that they would do so in this manner.

From the BLT chart, the time that we like to visit (and planned to visit) hasn't changed. We only stay 6 nights on each trip, so it looks like we'll be okay because we can be flexible on whether we use two weekend nights or just one.

Plus, the adjustment to the points for a studio in choice season mean that we can now stay 2 weekend nights if needed -- before we were 2 points short of being able to do that.

I can't believe how drastic the changes seem to be for some of the other resorts, though. That really stinks! :sad2:
