Is this a scarey kind of ride? The hill doesn't look to bad in the picture. I am not a big roller coaster fan. Would I like this? How wet do you get? TIA

Have you been on Splash Mountain, at Disney? It is very similar to that. This isn't horribly intense.

People call JTA a water coaster, but the coaster part is very short with just a small unexpected drop. The big drop is like any log flume ride out there like Splash Mountain or Dudley Do right. It's a fun ride, you gotta ride it!!

its an ok ride but you dont get soaked you dont even get wet. I go to Seaworld like once a month and i ride it everytime and i have never gotten soaked only a coulpe sprinkles maybe that it.

I am not sure if it is like the one in San Diego but there is an thing that scared me. I started screaming bloody murder.. You go up in the elevator.. I thought something else would happen.. but not it is really good.

The JTA in Orlando doesn't have the elevator like the one in San Diego. But the one in Orlando is much more themed as it has indoor sections with different scenes.the one in San Diego is mostly an outdoor log flume ride with not much of a story, but the coaster drop does look bigger.

i went on this thinking it was a harmless water ride like splash mountain, and omg was i scared, i didnt know about the coaster bit till it happened.....never again.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

you cant see its a coaster to from the front!

This is a great ride for people like me who won't do the big coasters. I sat in the back and basically didn't get wet at all. My 8 year old son loved this ride! He couldn't get enough. I say "go for it"!

I rode it last week for the first time after about a 45 minute line. Basically the first thing we did because it was the main thing my DS was interested in.....he loves Splash Mountain. I watched a few times, didn't look too bad. I didn't seem to see folks drenched, like splash mountain. We sat in front seat........WE GOT SOAKED !!! I couldn't have been more wet if I jumped into a pool with my clothes on. My shirt stretched three times the size it used to be. We had two choices - leave or buy new clothes. I was not the least bit happy about my day after that.....spending that money, dragging around a bag of wet clothes, and the undergarments were still wet when we got back to hotel. To say it put a damper on the day was minimal at best. The coaster part is fun but very very short. The interior is cheesy. I certainly was disappointed in the ride. If I return, I won't be going on it.

ps My son loves to get wet, and he did not like the outcome either.

Rode it like a million times; it's my favorite ride down in Florida (well, at least at Sea World Orlando). When I first rode it back in 1999, I was with my brother who rode it the year before. I knew about the log flume drop, but he forgot to tell me about the coaster element that is hidden. I screamed my head off and vowed to kill him when we got back home. :D Since 2000, I have ridden Journey to Atlantis at least twice every trip (although in May, I rode it 4 or 5 times in a row). I think you'll like it.
