Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Julie, sweetie, I just caught up on your journal and I have to tell you I think I am nearing an anxiety attack on your behalf. You poor kid. Dare I say that I think this is the perfect opportunity for you to force your family to become a bit more self-sufficient, starting with DH. No single human being can keep up the schedule you are keeping and maintain their health and/or their sanity. I don't know what to suggest, but I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I really, really hope you will seize control of the situation and capture this opportunity to get away for a bit. There are a gazillion reasons for you to go and only 1 not to -- your DH's situation. I really, really hope you will go.

sending loads of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to get you on that trip Julie
How will DH cope if you end up in hospital with exhaustion??
Hang in there

Julie, this sums up exactly what I am thinking. Your kids are nearing or at adulthood. Your husband is an adult. And you are burning the candle at both ends, constantly. Who will take care of you if you just give out due to the stress of all you do? You are not a puppet. You have been running a household alone, under huge amounts of stress and doing an incredible job. I don't think very many people could do what you do. And therefore you need to get away.

Have you thought about boarding all the dogs? I am sure in dh's state taking care of dogs would be tough. But I board my dogs all the time and they love it. Call your vet he/she will have some names. Also, what about a visiting nurse service? You can get a CNA here in the Denver area for around $20 an hour. She can come in to your home and get an ice pack, make a meal, clean, do whatever your dh needs. Again, look into that and other ways to make this work! Don't spend time cancelling the cruise withough spending a few hours researching to see if you can hire some help to keep the homefront going while you are gone. Although in the end, I truly believe you could leave them all alone and they would be fine. There are people out there alone all the time who have severe illnesses. Your husband will be alone for a short time. I think he can do it! And he actually won't be alone, sil and ds22 will be there. You can't keep doing this forever, you really need the break.

I am just so sorry for you. But I think you, dd and ds18 NEED this cruise. I hope I haven't overstepped my boundries, but dammit, I really, really, really hope you take this cruise.

And NEVER apologize for enjoying getting away from your everday life with these trips and enjoying the planning and anticpation those trips bring you. I am the same way, many of us are. You are such a great wife and mother, be good to yourself now.

Whatever you decide, we are all here for you and keeping you in our prayers.

Although I hesitate to say it, DH seems to be improving a bit.

DD,however, after going to work on Monday night for 6 hours, made it to work last night for under 2 hours & came home crying in excruciating pain. DH pain I can handle, DD I can't!

Praying hard that there's major improvement when she wakes up today. I hesitate to give her the narcotic pain killers, and she thought she was improving, so had backed off on the others.

In my mind I could leave DH behind on this trip if I had to(although it was originally planned as his 50th birthday), but DD I can't. I made an appt for her for tomorrow, but will likely try to see if I can get her in today instead.

Even my DSil in Iowa who is a pediatrician told me the pain will take time to go away, but last night was very extreme.

More later if I get a chance. Hope all is well.

Oh Julie, I am so sorry about your daughter. I know this has been so scary for her and you. I can totally understand your not wanting to leave her. Yeah, the hubby I could leave behind, but one of my high school aged kids, no way! I am just literally going to prayer right now as I finish this post that this works out for you and that she feels better and you and her can go. Again, I am just so very sorry you have been put through this as a family.

What they say better be true: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". You are getting stronger that is for sure.

We are all on your side Wish Sis, if this cruise doens't happen, there will be another one. And make sure you do some really fun things at home next week if you don't get to go. I am talking major chocolate, manicures, massages and other indulgent things. But I am still hoping and praying you get to go!

:wizard: :flower3:  :grouphug:

Yep, Amy, MAJOR CHOCOLATE....already happening.......NOT good for the scale, but............

Last night I went to bed & she sat on the daybed watching 'princess' which we had recorded on my computer & ate a bag of kettle corn & FIVE Hershey bars!!!!! (Looks better on her than on me!)

I'm taking her in at 2:45 today. She says her arms are a little better this morning, she thinks. She's REALLY not good at describing pain or the 1-10 pain scale thing!

Off to try to find SOMETHING on DS18 list for his Bday....Friday....I'm having no luck!

And, got the bug back yesterday. Got home, left to run errands & put the top down. doesn't work. Drove it back, neither they nor the VW dealer can figure out why it stopped working. So, this morning I got to drive it back to them to leave. :sad2: Probably for another week or two minimum!!! UGH!!!!!

But, on the positive, DH drove DS18 at 3:45 am so I got a bit of real sleep last night. Still tired, as much emotionally as physically, and unless I miss my guess, TOM is about to make a surprise appearance......sigh...........

Keep praying, y'all! LOVE YOU ALL!!

 and prayers are coming your way, Julie! I hope your DD is feeling much better soon and your DH too!

Quick update & thanks.....

DH seems to be finally improving. Still pain, but more of an ache.

Took DD to Dr who again explained to her that it's like she ran 4 back to back marathons on her hands. Arms will hurt for a good long while. Said that due to the constant muscle contractions, the muscles were first hard, now like putty & the 'neurons??' in the muscles don't want to fire because they're now exhausted...thus the weakness. Pain is from the use & the buildup of lactic acid. Made sense to me...I think.

Anyway....if the next 48 hours is uneventful, we are LEAVING as planned!!!!!!!!!! Surely my family can make it 48 hours w/o a crisis!

Yesterday was DS19 bday. And, he told me he wants to change his major to music.....hmmmmmmm..........I'll support him whatever, but told him he needs to do some research on marketability, etc. It is his passion, however, which is good. Pharmacy is not!

Trying to get everything done in 4 days that I would usually take 2+ weeks for is not easy, so must run.

Tracy, I'm mailing your package today. Enclosing some stuff for the girls (at your discretion!)

Hope all is well with everyone. Planning to get to journals later.

Yippee, yippee, yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That makes total sense with dd's arm pain. Sometime away from home on a cruise might do her some good. I think that's great ds19 wants to change to music if its his passion. Is he interested in teaching at all? In any case, I know he'll make (with mom's help and guidance) the best choice. Better to change now than continue with something that in the end, isn't right for him.

I am so glad dh is feeling better. Still continuing my prayers for a safe trip and a pain free one for him and dd!

I am so happy Julie, this was a hard thing to live through but you did it. Keep us posted but it looks very good at this point!:yay:

ooohhh i'm gonna be so nervous for 48 hours now!!!
Sending lots of positive vibes Julie :)

Okay Julie, I am going to assume you aren't on the Wish Board because you are on vacation! I really hope so. Just thinking about you and hoping it all worked out.

Hi Julie,

I am hoping that no posts means that you are on vacation!!!! I hope you and your family have a wonderful time!:grouphug:

Very brief....yes, I AM IN FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll post more later, but we are safely at my DSis. DD is continuing to improve. Train was wonderful on the 1st 2 parts. 3rd was NOT fun, but ended ok.....I'll explain later. Ate way too much & my weight is UP, but I have a week to watch it & walk before DH & DS19 arrive. Didn't get to zoo in DC, but walked from train station to White house, then to ww2 memorial & lincoln memorial & back to train. VERY HOT!!! In Chicago we did about 3 miles....at least something.

Today we went to FL Aquarium in Tampa. VERY NICE!!!!!!!! I'm really hoping to surprise DD w/ a day at Disney next week as she doesn't remember ANY of it!! We'll see.

Hope all is well with everyone...
