I'm sorry to hear about your DS18's cycle and the situation at work for your DD. Is the cycle fixed? I hope that your DD is able to find a new job soon.

The new puppy sounds really cute! I hope she isn't too much trouble. Any chance your DS's friend gave her to him after the dog was potty trained?

I hope you continue to feel better and that you can get that appointment re-scheduled soon. I know that you'll feel better once you get some answers from the doctor.

Well congrats on the new puppy (I guess ). I hope my son never has a friend do that to ME!!! Still, there is nothing more fun than a new puppy. Good for dd for quitting, what kind of a moron makes a young girl go out to a dark parking lot to pick up trash? There is a better job out there for her for certain. I am sorry about the ds18's bike. How is ds21? I have been MIA and didn't scroll back too far in your journal. Hope he's doing okay.

You have made some major progress with your health, good job! I hope you get the thyroid thing figured out soon. But keep up your good work, its making a difference!

CONGRATS to your new decade!!!

I really liked how you posted your comparisons from 2005 to now. That is really shows that you have made some really good healthy changes. Sometimes that is hard to see on a day to day basis.

I definitely agree with others about DD. The world is too scary a place now for any girl (but especially a young girl) to be out alone at night. She'll find a better job. Did DS hear about the pharm tech job? Maybe DD can get a job there too?

Hi Tracy, Cam, Anna, Amy & Dee! Yes, I've been MIA....kind of in chauffer/puppy chaosland.

For a puppy, Sashi is doing really well for the most part, but the energy level is astounding. Yesterday DS18 RAN 3 miles in 20 min with her & she wasn't even winded. She was 8 wks old on Monday - weighed 7.4 lbs at the vet. I took pics, but not sure how to attach/paste them here - will figure that out later.

Yesterday was a 'gomer pyle day ....Surprise, Surprise, surprise!' as TOM decided to rear it's ugly head again. DSil & I went to Casino for the last day of the slot tourney - I did lousy, w/ no chance of getting DH the leather coat..oh well. We were in line next to the guy who was in 1st place both morning & night & he did end up winning the $10,000. DSil got 2900+ points last session & didn't think she'd get even a duffle bag. She called in this morning & had won DH the leather coat, another cloth coat which she gave to my friend Melinda, & a duffle bag. DH was thrilled. Then I lost $40 in the morning, + $25 in free casino money. Went back w/ $25 casino money at night & turned it into $39+, decided to put my own $40 in & turned it total into $288+, so I won a total of just over $208 yesterday!! YEAH!!! More cruise money!!!

So, she called me & then DH, & we ended up meeting him at the casino so he could try on. We ended up eating buffet - this after I had just had breakfast at home after WW. Oh well, & we all had enough 'credit' on our casino cards to eat free. I just won't eat the rest of the day! I had salad, about a third of a small baked chicken breast & then of course dessert.

I really need to get back in gear. I did make it to the gym Tues to swim w/ DD as it was a snow day, but we got kicked out after about 25 min due to swimteam practice. We are going again tonight, tho. WI this morning I was down 1.2 which puts me at pre-cruise weight of 168.2 officially at WW. And I FINALLY hit the 30 lb mark again since joining 1/28/2003. On my old scale I was .5 below pre-cruise & on my New scale I was still .8 above. Officially, I'm now 6.2 above my lowest WW weight which was in 2003. It's a lot, but I'd like to try to reach it by the end of Feb or at least by 3/15. On fitday.com my weight 'dot' at least now is touching the edge of the 'moderately overweight' section! I want to say goodby to the severly overweight area for good.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 30 Pounds is a lot of weight, great job. I think you did very well at the buffet, those are never easy to do well at but you did. Good job with the swimming. Get some pictures posted, I want to see your new "baby"!

I'm still here. Been MIA, & between TOM & life, been eating everything in sight....still.......

On a positive note, I did make it to swim on Sunday & tonight DD has talked me into going to a beginning Zumba class. I agreed as it is the first class, so hopefully most will be as clueless as I am, though likely not as old not as out of shape. Looks fun, but not sure I'm exactly suited for it. I watched a video on You Tube & it was kind of scary!!!

Puppy is being ok. Just a big dog puppy, into everything & very energetic.

DS21 was suspended from work last friday for 2 weeks. Seems that they are now hiring people right out of prison & DS21 went out to smoke a cigarette & a new guy came out & lit up a joint. Guilt by association - I have a friend who works in the office who checked the report to be sure. So, now all 3 of my kids have no jobs......UGH!!!!!

DS18 is very 'blue' lately. Girl problems, rethinking his career choice, no job woes, friend problems...... Unusual for him to be so down. Cycle is back (only $1300+ this time ) but too cold to ride as of yet. And his laptop is not working right....poor kid!

DD is still job hunting....or procrastinating in doing so.

The weather here is cold/hot/cold/hot & everyone seems to be getting sick again.

Tracy - I think I'm done with Ebay. I have spent hours & hours reading everything I can & it sure seems very unfair for the small sellers like us. I think the end result will hurt ebay as the small sellers also seem to buy quite a bit as they spend a lot of time on the site. I sell mostly clothes, mostly used, mostly for low prices & it seems like it really won't be worth my time now as fees are actually increasing for the low ticket items. Plus, I sell mostly in the fall & since they're now going to do a running 12 mo feedback, there will be parts of the year where I would be one subject to the 'must accept Paypal (which means credit card & more fees) as well as having Paypal hold my payments until the buyer says all is well or 21 days. NOT a fun time! So, I think I'll go back to my 2-4 a year garage sales & may take some to the flea market to get rid of it.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to be organized enough to start journaling food here again. I just feel like I'm really floundering right now.

Hope everyone is having a good week. My Dentist appt got changed to the 25. The endo office never even called me back when I left the message to just reschedule me & let me know. So, I guess I'll wait until after my annual gyn visit the end of March & see what she says. The nodes seem all gone except for one which is smaller now. No clue about the thyroid - still concerned at times, but more frustrated than anything.

Welcome back, Tracey!!!! How are things over the pond????

Life here is normal. My van seems to be breathing its last, although I just spent(haven't gotten the bill) almost $700 for brakes. I was hoping it would last til fall.....in the shop now. Oh well.....

If we end up having to get a new car, it will be a small car that DH & DD will share for 2 years & then when she graduates HS, she will take over the pmts & it will be hers thru college. I shared w/ DS21, but he ran his new car into the ground - admittedly running drugs between here & AZ & Mex. Wonderful!!!

Besides the van stress, yesterday DS21 friend brought him everything out of his work locker. DS21 insists that he's not fired that they just make them empty the lockers periodically, but I have trouble believing it due to his past lies. Time will tell.........

DS18 still has no job news, & CFA refuses to give him his final paycheck until he calls the owner & meets with him. NOT his place to do. If the owner wants to talk with him, he should be man enough to make the call. If we don't have a check by tomorrow night, I will call the dept of labor on Friday & set up a time monday to have DS18 walk thru the door with them to get his check and tax info.

DD & I went to ZUMBA last night. It was REALLY REALLY FUN!!!!!! It helped that the instructor was older, shorter & larger than I am, but gee she could move those hips (and everything else!!)

More later....duty calls & I'm seriously considering a nap, tho not sure there is time before I have to get dd at school.

What the heck is Zumba? Do tell! Hope the class was fun. And you aren't out of shape, you lost 30 pounds remember?!

I am sorry about ds21's job thing. Whether he is fired or not its a shame. And a good lesson to be careful who he hangs out with. I hope he gets back on track, sending prayers to you and him. And thats a shame the other two kids are out of jobs right now too, something will pan out soon I am sure. Hope your van makes it, it was exactly a year ago at this time I was going through the same thing! I HATE cars, hope you get it worked out, that stress you don't need.

Don't worry about eating a bit more during TOM. We all do it, you'll get right back on track. Just keep up the good work Julie, you inspire me!

Zumba sounds interesting! (I can't check out the you tube video....I still have dial-up and it would take forever to load. ) I love dancing so any workout that involves dancing sounds like fun!

OMG!!!! I think I'm dying!!!!!!

Every muscle in my body aches!!!! Lifting my coffee cup is difficult!!!

Tonight DSil wanted DD & I to go to a 'total body conditioning' class. Said it was like what she did in Iowa. Would be MUCH easier. NOT what she thought. Think a high intensity step aerobics class and while doing that, lift weights. I did it, but am about dead!!! She quit part way thru ....too intense for her.....DD is about like I am. Zumba is very aerobic & FUN!! This was pure torture!!!!!

If I don't sign on tomorrow, you know I couldn't get out of bed!! Hopefully it will help me have a decent WI at WW.

Yes, the van is on its last....said engine is almost shot - rods - & transmission, too. Thing is it has 89k on it... & Kia supposedly warrants the engine/drive train for 100k. Doubt it will honor it, but DH says he'll try. And, there's no time to car shop....I could, but basically, DD & I can fit in anything..he can't as all his height is in the torso.

He's leaving Monday for Teterboro NJ for 3 days for meetings & is way over swamped until then. Maybe next weekend..... I hope!!!!! Until then, pray the weather warms up.....One car, 5 people....NOT FUN!!!

Julie, Come on no one goes to Teterboro NJ. There are only 7 houses in the entire town???? I grew up in the next town over Moonachie (yes that is correct) What are going to do there? Just curious. My family still lives in that area and I make it up there about once a month. Are you flying into Teterboro or Newark?
