Jost Van Dyke transfer experiences??

First time cruiser!
I tried to book the Jost Van Dyke beach Day excursion through Disney but it says it is not available for my party size/date/etc. The Jost Van Dyke transfer was available so I have that currently booked. With young kids, the morning hours are ok with me. However, I'm concerned about lunch. The excursion is listed to end at noon. Does that mean we are back not the Fantasy boat by then or are we able to get lunch at the beach(on our own) before heading back to the boat? Anyone have any experience with this? Thank you!

We just did the Beach Day. Our drop-off at the beach (~ 11:30-ish) was also the pick-up for the Beach Transfer group.

You should be back to the ship around 1:00 for a late lunch. I think that is part of the design of the Beach Transfer - to give you an option to experience JVD while still allowing you to eat on the ship and not go out-of-pocket for food.
