Josh Powell killed his sons. Oh, and himself.

Awful, just awful! :sad1: How anyone can hurt their own babies is beyond me. Pure evil.

No doubt this monster is now with the likes of Bin Laden. He's just as evil.

I was really hoping that they died instantly and didn't know anything. The thought that their last moment was the realization that their dad was going to hurt them just tears me up. And to think one of them had to watch it happen to his brother is even more devastating. What a horrific thing to do to a child. That man is a monster.

Gut wrenching

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

to the poster who called the social worker stupid, i read a report today that included her phone call to 911 BEFORE he blew up the house. the dispatcher told her that authorities were tending to life-threatening situations. :(

i think she did the best she could do. i'm sure she'll be haunted by this moment for the rest of her life, but she bears NO guilt in this situation.

I agree.

She was court-ordered to bring the boys to their supervised visitation.

Powell slammed the door in her face, and from what I can tell, she was pleading with the 911 operator to get the police there.

Even after the house exploded, she was still arguing with them. They said the house was vacant, but she said that she just took two boys there.

I cannot believe the latest details in the murders. It is absolutely beyond anything I could imagine.:sad2:

Now Powell's sister is saying that Josh's death can be blamed on the "system". Oh please. The system was trying to protect the kids from the monster he turned out to be. Denial is high right now. She cannot fathom that her brother is a cold-blooded murderer.

The death of Josh and those innocent boys can be blamed ONLY on Josh. sick monster.

I wondered how long it would be before his family tried to blame everyone and anyone other than that monster. They say his dad is on suicide watch in prison...call me callous but maybe the guards should look the other way for a while.

That's what the guards did when that monster Father Geoghan was murdered in his cell. There's video of them trying to break down the door, but they didn't look like they were all that speedy. Its on youtube.

Maybe give him an extra pair of shoelaces.

I could understand her refusing to believe that he killed his wife. I don't believe it for a minute but I can see how she might have felt that way in the beginning. But your brother just took a hatchet to your nephews and you feel the system made him do it??? Sounds like the whole family is a piece of work.

The family clearly has issues. I mean the dad is in jail on child porn charges. While there is no excuse, Josh Powell is a murderer. However, who knows what happened to him (and his delusional sister) as children. Monsters create monsters.

Good point, not that all people who are molested become monsters, far from it. On that note, does anyone know about Mrs. Powell (Josh's mother)?

Of course not! I didn't mean to imply that. But this is one messed up family.

I think Susan Powell found out that either Josh or his father was abusing the boys. That got her killed and now that the boys were talking...they were killed too.

She lives with her daughter that blames the system for what Josh Powell did.

In October, Terrica Powell, 56, broke a long-standing silence in the case of her missing daughter-in-law and her son, by writing a court affidavit in support of Josh Powell retaining custody of his boys.

In the declaration filed in Pierce County Superior Court in Tacoma, Wash., Terrica Powell called her grandsons "happy, well-adjusted and vibrant children ... even though they miss their mother."

I'm heartsick over the latest turn of events that he harmed the boys before setting house on fire :sad2:. Surely there a special place in he!! for a monster like this!
I pray those precious lil boys are being cradle in the arms of their loving mommie at last in peace . My heart aches for their poor grandparents. :guilty:

This 911 call sounds like a Laurel & hardy routine. The dispatcher saying, "I'll have the next available deputy contact you" probably at the same moment in time that two children were being murdered.. .Who knows what the outcome would have been if he would have dispatched the police and fire with ANY kind of urgency?:sad2:
