Hey all! I'm super excited to be planning my Disney Dream Wedding! I've wanted this since I was 14. Josh and I are going for a Wishes Wedding. I'm open to any suggestions from past or current brides who planned/are planning their weddings. I'll upload plans and pictures as they come along :cutie:

Oops! I forgot the story part :rolleyes1

Josh and I have been together for almost two years now (our anniversary is April 16). We are high school sweethearts.

Our engagement was sort of unconventional. We came to a joint decision to get married and I don't actually have my ring yet. And I don't know when I will get it. He's still going to surprise me with the ring, so you'll have to wait for the pictures (sorry!). I'm super excited though.

We decided to have the wedding in May after Josh graduates. I'll still have a year of college to go, but I'm determined to make it. I'll only be paying for tuition as well, as it allows us to live together (with the blessing of our families).

We're doing a Wishes Wedding. I'm not really sure if I want a certain "theme" or if I just want my colors with some Disney touches. We're gonna have some shade of turquoise along with a pale yellow, for sure. We both love turquoise and I like yellow :)

We will be holding the ceremony in the Wedding Pavilion (morning ceremony). We'll only be having around 60 quests, so I'm not 100% on where the reception will be :confused3 Either Ballroom (I'm thinking Contemporary) or one of the restaurants. I would love some suggestions on this part!

There is only one bridal salon in Indiana that sells the Disney Wedding Dresses, and it is conveniently located in the same town I live in (it's meant to be lol). I'll update you when it comes to trying dresses.

I could also use some help on deciding where my guests and I should stay. I want to make this as affordable as possible for my family and friends, but I don't know if the discounted rooms would make any dent on moderate/deluxe resort prices. Suggestions?

Any suggestions are welcome and GREATLY appreciated!

(P.S. Has anyone done a spa day before the ceremony? I'm considering it.)

We also had a morning ceremony at the WP with a little over 60 guests. Originally, we were going to use the Whitehall Room, but after 50, you really can't cram more folks in! I didn't want one of the regular ball rooms, because it would take more decorations (money) to "dress it up." So, we went with Narcoossee's (since it was an early afternoon reception). We really loved the location on the water overlooking the MK, and it was really beautiful with lots of light.

For the room block, you will get 30% off resorts that have a convention center: Contemporary, GF, Boardwalk, etc. Poly, WL and AKL do not, so their discount is reduced. For that reason, in order to give our guests the best chance to stay at one of these places, we used the CR and GF with the ASMo as our Value. But honestly, right now, the discounts on hotels might give them a better rate outside of the room block. Be prepared for that.

My mom and I went to the GF Spa for pedi/mani two days before. I really enjoyed it, but I think I like the spa at SSR a TINY bit more. Either one is great.

I would recommend getting Passporter's e-book on DFTW. It'll answer a lot of your questions.

This is the basic color scheme I want. The bridesmaid's and flower girl dresses are the style I want, but by the time I buy them, who knows if these specific dresses will be around. Tell me what you think :goodvibes

Okay, here's the deal. We had to alter our plans for our wedding. We are not going to be able to have our wedding in Disney. We have too many people in the family that we really want there, and most will not be able to come to Florida. So we are going to have a wedding here at home, and then have our honeymoon in Disney. We still want to Disney-ify the wedding as much as we can, so we're going to keep ya'll updated on plans and see if anyone has any suggests on how to make our wedding as close to a DFTW as possible.
