Jorge Cruise---Belly Fat Cure book?

I saw this book on the Rachael Ray show yesterday. Seems really interesting. Guess he concentrates on watches your sugars and carbs.

Just wondering if anyone has this book and if it's worth getting?

Has anyone followed this strategy and how did it work for you?
 
Although I have not read the book I have some general tips. (I've lost 55lbs in 18 months)

In general, the reason low carb diets work is that you replace the carbs with some form of protein. Protein holds off feeling hungry longer than high carb foods do. So watching sugars and carbs is a good if you replace them with the right thing.

I have the book; he concentrates on foods low on the glycemic index - whole grains, high proteins, etc; I was really hoping it would be great for me because it allows red potatoes (other no/low carb diets like south beach don't allow any kind of "white" potato). A friend lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks... but then she fell off the wagon and hasn't gotten back on it. I hadn't even started with it before getting diagnosed with gastroparesis which means high fiber/whole grain diets are out for me, so I'll never know if it would have worked (well, I guess it *would* have caused weight loss when the stomach pain caused me to stop eating, but it wouldn't have been healthy).

I just heard of the BFC on Rachael Ray.

In the last year I've gained quit a bit of weight due to an emergency hysterectomie. I'm only 41, I shouldn't be menopausal. But hey, if the alternative was death (I had 15 tumors inside of me), I'd rather be menopausal!

So I have a sweet tooth... Maybe even 4 or 5 LOL... So when I hear of Jorge I thought... Maybe this will work for me.

I'm not a fan of diets. I've always resisted them. But because my body is doing his own thing now, I have to be more pro active.

That being said, my stomach had taken the bulk of the weight. I have not started the BFC program yet. I just started counting my carbs and sugar. I was flabergasted by how much sugar was in my food! Just my favorite breakfast had 44 grams!! and I was so proud of my 40-calorie morning juice!

Well... its only been a week and I don't know where my stomach has gone! LOL Wouhou! So, this week-end, I will go to our local bookstore and get a copy of the book so I can look at the recipes.

Oh! And I've started using Stevia in my morning coffee. It's not my sugar but it's worth it. I'm sure by the end of the week I won't see a difference.

All and all, Thank you Jorge! I'll keep you posted on my evolution.
