Joovy caboose ultralight on American Airlines (gate check <20 lb stroller restriction)

I just finished weighing this stroller and it’s 20.6 with the bottom basket (removed parent console, tray and canopy). I just paid $40 to have a $20 tire shipped as I just noticed damage and need it by Sunday am (why I didn’t use the stroller or notice this a week ago!), but that’s a different rant. We flew spirit in June eventhough we have the AA citi card And airmiles due to the stroller gate check restriction, however we chose American airlines this time as we had a really bad experience flying out of MCO on spirit in June (2 hours waiting at the gate and then 1.5 hr on Tarmack with 3 kids).

Has anyone been able to take the Joovy Caboose Ultralight graphite on AA?

Thanks. I was really getting stressed and thinking of taking off wheels and carrying a weighing scale. This strollenr with all attachments goes through the security scanner easily and is 23 lbs.

They just don't want people gate checking behemoth double strollers....mine was 23 lbs and nobody batted an eye
