OK, so me, my DW and DD4 are leaving on 5/28. We're booked, paid for, staying at ASMo, on dining plan, I've made most of our ADRs, I'm actually on the phone making another one now...

So my point to all this is I can't freaking wait to go! I've made and received customized maps, I've gathered all of the ride info, I've read TUG cover to cover, I check this site daily, but I am freaking running out of things to do to get my fix.

What to do!? :scared1: :scared:

I have a suggestion that worked for me (and still does). Go to live365.com and search for disney channels. You can get park audio, rides, disney song, etc. Its great to put on at home or when Im at work just as background music.

It is very, very difficult....I wish I had an answer for you but I don't. The more you read the more you want to read.... If you think is bad now wait until you experience the withdrawls after you come back!

We're going through the same thing. We're not scheduled to go back till October and everyday the kids keep saying, "I can't wait till we go back."

The next 6 months are going to be a killer.

Man, I feel your pain. :goodvibes June cannot get here fast enough to suit me. I've been 9 times before, so I don't quite jones like I used to, but there is still a decided hankering in my life for WDW.

Will this be your first trip? BTW, welcome to the DIS! :yay:

Wow, my worst fear realized! :scared1: There is nothing more!!

Streaming is a good idea, but I'm in IT and at work and streaming is a big no no here. Would be especially bad for the one enforcing the policy (me) to do it! ;)

Thanks for comiserating though!

Thanks!

First time in nine years. Did the more adult vacations prior to my DD, cruises, etc. now that she has reached the 40" mark I'm taking her to WDW. So it's been such a long time and I can't freaking wait! Sad to say, I'm more excited than she is, though she doesn't really know what to expect.

A kid at her preschool told her there was a "Dragon Scale" there that could take her to the Dragon Tales world! Had to shoot that one down, WDW may be magical, but not quite THAT magical!

My first trip and my oldest child's were one and the same. I will never forget the feeling of holding my 3yo daughter while riding to MK on the monorail as her eyes got huge and she squealed "There's the castle, Daddy!" That was the first of about a thousand magical moments ever since. Now me, DW, and the kids are all absolute Disney goobers.

To pass the time I enjoy visiting this site along with certain others you will find with a quick google search. (But this one is the best, of course) Regarding the music, it does give me a quick WDW fix. I downloaded lots of park audio files for my iPod but that's something not allowed here any more, so streaming may be the only option. :sad1:

List every ride and attraction alphabetically and memorize the list.

Memorize it backwards.

List all rides and attractions in the order that they were opened. Memorize that list.

Calculate the number of calories you will consume on your dining plan.

Calculate the number of miles you'll need to walk to expend those calories.

Memorize parade and fireworks music lyrics.

Train yourself to survive on less sleep so you'll have more awake time at WDW

Practice walking longer, farther, faster, preferably dodging other moving objects.

Practice bladder training

I'm running out......anyone else have any ideas for him?

no,no,no...don't worry...there IS more!!

make a countdown calendar with your dd (my fav is doing a calendar on posterboard with mickey head cutouts for each day...under each mickey head is a picture of something we will do there (rides, hotel pool, characters, fireworks, etc)

get your hands on the "disneyland fun" singalong song video...super cheesy, 80's style, but fun for kids (set in disneyland, but shows mostly same fantasyland rides and characters)

pick up a copy of the book, "disney world for kids". it is either fodor's or birnbaum, i believe. anyway, the authors/contributors are kids, so the ride descriptions are kid-friendly. my kids LOVE for me to read about a few rides every day (and we've been to WDW 5 times already!). we then often "play" that ride....spinning for teacups, crazy running for barnstormer, sliding down slide (or stairs:rolleyes: ) for splash mountain, etc.

how about copying some disney coloring pages? or making a disney shirt (go to the "creative DISigns" board for ideas)? or picking up a disney trivia game (we have the disney "scene it" game, and just use the trivia cards. my kids are 4, haven't seen MOST of the disney movies but are familiar with them due to reading the stories, and they can answer plenty of the kid questions. i also modify the adult questions and they can answer many that way)?

how about making a "travel pack" for your dd including coloring pages, snacks, etc for the trip down there?

if you've already ordered your maps, did you see the game on the website where you help donald find the Wacky Quacky Pass? (it's in that same area on the website, i believe). you can also find characters from previous months' activities (more fun for my kids than the wacky quacky pass thing)

do you have the disney planning dvd?

have you started planning out your days (which parks at which times, avoiding EMH/attending EMH)? have you printed out the park calendar with hours, fireworks, parades, etc?

there is still plenty to do...get going!

have fun,

have fun,

We're doing the calendar, everything is just about planned out, HOWEVER, you seem to be missing the point :goodvibes , my DD is fine! I'm the one with the problem! :lmao:

However, the DVD is a good idea! I search through Tivo every now and then looking for any Disney related travel show, but can never find anything!

The travel channel was showing Disney stuff last week, I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning watching!! We all get desperate. My DH favorite book is the Hidden Mickey book, he really can't wait to try to see where the clues lead him;) It is a small book and we found it in our local Borders bookstore last year before we went. New resort new hidden Mickeys.

It would give you something to read now and something fun to do at the parks.:woohoo:
