Jones Park Beach on Long Island

Anyone been there or live near there? My Dad has a business conference at hotel about 20 minutes away in a few weeks. I'm thinking of tagging along if I can go lay on the beach for a couple days.

Yes, it is nice! Jones Beach just celebrated it's 75th birthday so Newsday, the LI paper had a special section. Check it out:

Jones is nice - but it gets crowded quick- expecially on the weekends. So you're best off going either late in the afternoon or earlier in the day. Have a great trip!

the real action these days seems to be around the West Bathhouse, but I prfer the quiet area of Zach's Bay, near the theater.

I grew up going to Jones Beach every summer!! I remember LOVING it!! Haven't been in years but I treasured our trips there!
