Jonah's wish trip *pictures added*

I just had to share that this happy stuff with everyone. Jonah done hippotherapy every thursday. Well, today he wanted to make his mommy and daddy really happy today, he sat side ways on the horse with the therapist holding him at his rib cage and her helper holding his arms and rode around for one lap around the barn holding his head and sitting    he seems to do these things when i don't have my camera with me. Next I'm going to take my camera so i can show y'all how he's doing. He has come a long way since last year. They wouldn't have even thought of having him on the horse like that by himself. we are :cloud9: He's just had an awesome week in therapy this week.

we found out who his teacher is going to be for this upcoming year, i can't believe it starts in less then a month.

Great PTR! Some of our dates overlap, we'll be there through the 22nd. I'll keep my eye out for you on the 21st at MK :goodvibes

YAY Jonah!!!

so great! I looooove hippotherapy. My DS did it for a while too. It's amazing what it does for the muscles and control.

What a HUGE day!

I wish that we could do it every day. At one time we did it before speech and he did better in speech after riding it amazes me how much it helps with everything else too.

We have exactly 4 months before we go. This is taking FOREVER. I haven't done any more planning yet, we're trying to clean the house and get it ready for my MIL to come in from canada in 2 weeks. We have to do it now because we're leaving next sunday (jonah and myself) to go up for week of doctors appt and dh is going out of town for work. I hope everyone is having a better weekend then us, between the work around the house we're also getting addicted to guitar hero.

Well, we got to meet jonah's new teacher today and I think he is going to have one of his best years in preschool so far. She is very personable and seems like she is going very reachable too. This was the first year i've gotten to just sit down and talk to his teacher one on one, normally i deal with his nurse/aid but it was nice to know the teacher wants to work with him too. It's going to be a smaller class this year :goodvibes with only 4 kids (including jonah) with 3 adults. I think a really good ratio. We're going to do one more meet and greet in a couple of weeks before school starts so we can meet all the other new people working with him.

His nap is over. I'm still working on the US/IOA and Seaworld days but i'll post that when i'm finished

Thanks for reading. He did really good in pt today and keeps getting a little stronger each time.

p.s.
this was just to cute not to share. Our dog thinks of him as her "puppy" and watches him like a hawk

That is so adorable!!! I'm glad Jonah had a good day in therapy and that you feel at ease with his teacher. That is so important for our peace of mind!! I say lots of prayers toward the end of each year as I know teachers are drawing names for their classes for the next year. I want my kids to always have a great teacher who loves to keep the lines of communication open. I know that's a load off your mind!

Great pics honey! I have a puppy who watches out for my DS as well. She "adopted" him almost 3 years ago.

I think this is happiest i've been with a teacher so far, and i thought no one could replace his teacher from last year. Don't you just love how dogs "adopt" kids

Thank you we love our dogs. We are so happy to have a reachable teacher and she seemed at ease with everything that goes a long with jonah. I just hope that we can keep having good teachers, since this is the school he's going to be going to through the 6th grade.

Sea World plans coming up later today
Becca

We are going to go to Sea World on Saturday next to going to WDW this is the other part of the trip we are looking forward also. We've never been to sea world so we are ready to see what it holds for our a little man.

We're going to probably get there a little past opening since we are going to be partying with mickey and friends the night before at MVMCP, but here is what we don't want to miss.

Shows
Clyde and Seamore
Believe

Attractions
Shamu underwater
Dolphin Cove
Dolphin Nursery
Penguin Encounter
Shark Encounter
Stingray lagoon
Jewel oh the Sea
Turtle Point

Rides
As far as rides go we're going to check on Shamu Harbor and see if there is anything that catches our attention there and if not that's fine too.

We want to take our time and look at all the sea life and just to get to see a killer whale is going to be fun. Helping Jonah get to feed the dolphins is going to be fun too.

I'm going to start working on our plan for US/IOA soon I'm not that excited about these parks so it may be a little while before I get that one planned.

I found our MVMCP tickets (i knew where they were) yesterday and got excited all over again.

I would like some suggestions of what the MUST SEE/DO at the MVMCP besides the parade and shows. What has been everyone elses favorite things to do.

Jonah is waking up now, we're trying to get him back on his school schedule and it's working except i don't have as much time in the morning the disboards

Oh honey...you are going to loooove SW. We did it our last trip. And we didn't do one ride...not one.

I've never done MVMCP...but I have done P&PP...and they are all the same. Ride everything you want. You dont have to wait in any lines...there is great character interaction...and barely any people.

Have fun!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
We're going out of town for the week to go see all of jonah's doctors for his yearly and 6 month visits to make sure everything is still doing o.k. He is getting his renal ultrasound tuesday and that's the only thing i'm a little worried about, i'm sure nothing is wrong still, but we just have to make sure he's not getting a kidney stone and to check the fluid around his kidney. He is also getting his g-tube checked and getting his trach and baha sites checked. We also have to stay in touch with his plastic surgeon and then of course the nutritionist so we can get his food increased and get him gaining weight. Oh and can't forget the neurologist so that he can see what progress his has made in the last year and check to make sure there isn't anything else that we need to be doing or suggestions on what we need to do. So we are going to have a busy week and i won't have access to a computer until sometime next week. Then when we get back my MIL and her hubby will be in town for the weekend. So needless to say it's going to be a little while before i can plan and update. I still have to get all our stuff packed and loaded so we can leave in the morning.

I hope that everyone has a good week and I'll update when i get a chance next week. Take Care

Our family will remember you and your family in our prayers. Those check ups can surely be a draining thing on everyone. Good luck and travel safely. We will be happy when you return.

Best of luck with all of Jonah's appointments.I always worry so much before things like this.I hope it goes quickly and that they throw nothing unexpected at you! I love the pictures of Jonah and his dog, too cute!

Good luck with all of Jonah's appointments.

Ugh- just when I thought I was caught up with reading all the PTRs, I find out that I'm not! I remember someone telling me that their trip was going to overlap with ours. Then when I saw Amber's list of all the trips, I started searching out all the PTRs ( my 3 oldest are at church camp so I have a little extra time).

I too am a SLP who loves Disney! I love hearing reports of good therapists and it sounds like you have some great ones. You mentioned driving to therapy once and then remembering it was cancelled. Once I drove 50 miles to one of the schools I work at and found an empty parking lot. They forgot to tell me school was out that day!

Do you know your flight times yet? Will you be to GKTW in time for the Christmas party that night? I sure hope so! We will look for you. We will also be at MVMCP on Friday!

Jonah is so cute and the progress he's making is wonderful. I have learned as a therapist a lot of the time, the amount of progress children make is due to the carry over work the parents do at home. You are doing a wonderful job with your beautiful son!

I only have a short period of time to update this i'll be more detailed monday or tuesday. the inlaws are on their way right now.
Every dr told us this week see next year :cool1: unless something needs to be checked, but like i said i don't have time to go into detail. I hope everyone had a great week and i'll be more detailed next time but everything is o.k. for now.
