I watch the show with DH and really enjoy it. It really makes my life with one 3 year old feel very "normal". We laugh at Jon's reaction to some of the "poop" and "pee" incidents, and think more power to them for taking all 8 to WDW.

I noticed on the "grocery" episode that she mentioned that she was spending only $150 "at that store" which led me to believe that there are probably more stores involved. Since they do all organic, maybe they stock up occasionally (like with the half a cow) and then have a $150 a week budget on top of that. Besides, I have one toddler and I go through 1 $20 box of diapers every two weeks. Multiply that by six and you've got $60 a week just in diapers. I know that some of them are potty trained now, but I still think it's not a realistic view of what their expenses actually are.

Anyway, DH and I love the show. It's one of the few we watch together when we catch it. We both mentioned we wanted to see how they handled the Disney trip.

Love this show! They are so real and yes, they bicker and she seems a bit over the top at times - but no more than me and my wife - and we have one kid! I just love that they don't attempt to restrict the normal activities, such as going to WDW - just because they have 8 kids. They go organic, keeps the kids in a routine, and are faith based! In my book - they are the top of the food chain as parents!

I've watched the show many times. I am amazed that Jon puts up with her to be honest. She is always yelling and belittling him. There was a recap espisode a few weeks ago where they re-lived previous moments. Jon did everything wrong and couldn't get a word in to defend himself and yet when Jon tried to point out something that Kate did wrong, she turned it right around saying 'It's becuase you (jon) didn't do what you are supposed". It Tivo'd it and showed it to my husband. If treated him like that on national TV no less, we would be divorced lol.

I also love this show! I am addicted to it! I hate how some people get on her about her frankness or accepting help and free stuff. No one is in her house everyday raising her kids. I am sure if someone offered any of us free trips, we would take them in a heartbeat!

Also, I know if I was on a television show with all my imperfections for everyone to see, the comments would be a little harsh too!

I love this show!!! I saw the WDW episode...wish they would have showed more of their trip. Can't wait to see their Hawaii trip. 8 kids on a two 6 hour flights....WOW!!!

I read here on the boards that they were spotted at the Wilderness Lodge just two weeks ago. The Dis member met Jon and Kate and the twins in the elevator and they were very friendly and nice. Wonder if this recent trip will make it on an up-coming episode?

I can't comment on her stress level and how she treats her kids- I don't have 8 of them, lol. How she treats her husband is beyond disgusting though. In one episode she actually made him go change his shirt 3 times because she didn't like it- like he was a child!

We saw them on our recent trip at WL. Kate seemed a little stressed, but it is WDW they may have been in hurry or something.

I have a love hate relationship with the show. I love the kids but Kate drives me crazy. She's too controling and obsessive. And the most recent episodes are getting away from what I like: how their life is day to day.

I do think the life of the show is getting short. Once the "little kids" start school it seems like there will be less and less to film. I just hope that they've planned for when it's over. I wish them the best, but I think I'm done watching.

I totally agree, and I also love the show. They're having a "mini-marathon" of them that's on right now. I think they have a great family with good values. I also think Jon and Kate really do have a pretty good relationship, at least from what we see. They seem to have a better and much more loving relationship than many married couples I know, and they have 8 kids to deal with every day.

I like the show but my kids LOVE it. To be honest, I don't know how they do it. I just hope that we can see how Jon & Kate deal with teenagers! More power to them. I know that I couldn't do it.

I love the show.. mostly because of the kids and how adoreable they are. My husband watches it with me because he likes to basically see how horrible kate is and complain about it.. which is ok with me because it makes me look like an angelic wife then! My husband is always saying that he knows they will get divorced but I don't know.. I definitely think they won't while the kids are young (in school).. maybe after they get into college but by then I thiink Jon will be worn down and will figure that the worst is over and will just stick around. lol.

Can you imagine how it is going to be when all of the kids are teenagers at the same time?!? learning to drive and ranging hormones and the girls wanting to go shopping all the time? and if all the girls have pms together? good luck to them I say! I do feel it's weird how they get so much stuff for free... like going to hawaii to get re-married etc..etc. I guess if it's every once in a while it's ok and we don't really see how much time takes place between their trips and stuff... so maybe it is every 6 months that they travel and in between they are "normal"...

anyway.. I love the show and am addicted to it.. but I"m wondering if it is losing steam as well.... it does feel like it "jumped the shark" on the episode where they went to watch the baseball game.. or maybe that just wasn't exciting to me.

it's a family friendly show, whether or not we agree w/ every single thing the parents say/do, it's still fun to watch & relaxing after a long day... it's like "whew! at least I didn't put 8 kids to bed!"

Yes, Jon's dad did pass away, and apparently the family was close to him. I don't think they have any issues with Jon's mom, but I think she lives far away. There do seem to be some type of issues between Kate and her parents. Her brother lives just down the street from them, and the two families seemed to have a fine relationship (he and his family were seen in a lot of the earlier episoded,) but yes I think there are definetly issues between at least Kate and her parents. As far as I know, she's never specifically addressed the issues, but hints at them often. She often says how she didn't have a lot of "experiences" when she was a child, and Jon did, and that's why they want to give their kids as many as possible, and from what she's said on her most previous show, there seemed to be some issues with their wedding ect. I would love to know the whole story, just because I'm curious, but that's their personal life, and I'm guessing still some pain there, so I completely understand that they wouldn't want the world to get involved. I also kinda thought it was weird that there friends/family (Beth, Kate's brother and family ect.) haven't been seen on the show in quite a while, however they do have the younger girl who goes on a lot of trips with them, and I could be completely wrong, but I thought she was Beth's daughter?? Not totally sure, but they had also said how they were trying to concentrate on spending a lot of family time together, plus Jon I think only works from home now, so I'm sure they don't need as much help. -I also thought Jon started working for Beth's husband?? Again could be totally wrong. -Can you tell I'm totally addicted to the show Either way, I think they do a great job raising 8 kids.
