Not even pertaining to Kate, thats a really good statement - I like that. I think it happens to all of us at times, especially someone with EIGHT KIDS!! Sometimes, everyones kids are just yelling all day long, they wont listen to a word you say, it seems like your constantly yelling, "Don't do that" "Sit your butt down" "Stop hitting" "Stop jumpig on the couch" "You do that one more time I'm gona....." Anyway... yeah, too highstrung to enjoy being a mother... I think we have all been there, probally more than we would like to admit!! As far as Kate goes - I think she needs a Valum from time to time, just needs to chill out and get that bug out from where its stuck! Of course, her daily life is on camera, and the producers choose what gets aired, and what doesn't. I can't think of a single person in the world that would come out squickie clean under thoes circumstances, not matter what.

I could swear that during one of the "behind the scene" shows J & K said that the cameras only come around "every so often" (I think) It just seems strange that she hardly seems to enjoy herself unless its one of those Jon and Kate only times. You would think w/ them filming "all the time" (as some people have claimed) that would be some "happy" scenes w/ her. I don't think she would be so friendly w/ the camera people if it was their "editing" that portrayed her like that unless she is like that most of the time and/or finds nothing wrong w/ it

I would like to think if I had 8 kids (DISCLAIMER..I DON'T so don't slam me ) and looked that miserable (at least when the camera is showing) I'd be gettin some chill pills thats for sure. Maybe then she could "act" like she was enjoying the family.

Honestly, I don't think Kate is a monster of a mother or even perfect. But who am I to say anything about her unless I have sextuplets and a set of twins.

Omg....I'm quite certain that I've had my share of meltdowns and bad Mommy moments, thankfully no one has caught them on film!!

3 or 4 days a week, sometimes from before the kids get up until after they've gone to bed... Kate mentioned that in an interview.

That would drive me insane. I would hate having people in my house for that amount of time. What if she wanted to lay down while the kids were in for a nap, or watch TV, or surf the internet? Woudln't you feel like you had to be "on" the whole time?

no kidding! at least on other shows the bathroom serves as an off limit sanctuary but that sure does'nt seem to be the case here bathing, bowel movements, barfing-nothing is too intimate or personal it can't be televised speaking of which-has anyone ever wondered (like me) how they handle (or will handle) the issues of teaching modesty and privacy to the kids? i mean, by 4 my kids had a pretty ingrained idea that certain parts of the body were not displayed in front of anyone other than mommy, daddy, the doctor (and possibly other sibs-but even that was getting more limited), and they certainly did'nt want anyone but mom or dad observing them bathing or going to the bathroom (and they had to respect others in their right to privacy in these things). i have to wonder if it's not hard/confusing for these little ones to grasp that concept when the most intimate, personal (and in some cases totaly unclothed) functions in their lives are being witnessed and filmed by a production staff, then aired for the whole world to see?

I watch the show because I enjoy those little kids - my goodness! They are too cute for words. I don't watch it to critique Kate and her mothering - in fact, I think she's brought them up to be loving children. If one hits the other, she makes them go over and hug and say "sorry"...I think sometimes we read too much into something meant for entertainment. I can't imagine have 8 kids so I have nothing to say on her parenting.

I don't think he was ok with it...he went and got him (one of the boys-can't remember) and brought him to their (J&K's) bed.

IIRC, at some point, Jon moved him upstairs ... and he threw up all over everything again.

I don't care who it is that does something like that to a sick child - my SIL, best friend, or Laura Bush ... I think it's really sad to put a child that is vomiting on a hard, cold floor and left alone. The only difference here is that Jon & Kate are allowing this to be filmed and shown on national television. We all do things that others may not agree with ... but, 99.9% of the world hasn't chosen to have their everyday lives filmed for TV.

I know that vomit on carpet is gross to deal with. I have 3 kids. But, when mine are sick, I try to make them comfortable.... they're within earshot, have a TV to watch and are close to the bathroom. I have old comforters and such I use in case they do get too dirty to salvage, just in case.

Was he ON an old comforter? And maybe they were doing this not only so it wouldn't be as messy but to keep him/them away from the other kids, you know trying to cut down on chance the others will catch it.

But I do have to say that the kids seem to be vomitters. I rarely had my kids throwing up like that. And they seem to do it everytime they are sick.

I don't have children, but I am seriously so like Kate and Dh is very much like Jon. If that makes us bad people, well, then I will join the crowd.

It takes all kinds to make a world.

At least she doesn't hit her children, scream at them, or neglect them the way I have seen some people do in the hospital I work in . It is shocking what I see people do to their children in a public place, especially in a hospital with security around. I have even had to call security on a woman that was hitting her sick child in my office and she thought it was perfectly alright, can you imagine the treatment these children receive at home.

I have to agree with you. She didn't leave and shut him in there by himself either as a pp had stated, I don't think there is even a door on the laundry room. She was in there washing vomit out of the nice comforter they had just bought and the other children were going in and out of there, then Jon did take him to the floor in their room, nothing wrong with that, since he had just vomited in his bed and it was probably wet and nasty.
