Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

I'm another one who just started watching. My DVR has picked up a bazillion of the shows since I set it to record and they're all out of order, so I'm confused.

I read the first three pages of the thread, and I have to say that I know more couples where the husband and wife dig at each other, than not. To me they're normal. I don't quite get the germaphobia, but then again, it's something I can't relate to. Her sarcastic comments to her husband on the other hand, are definitely something I can!

All in all Kate amazes me. A few nights ago, I caught the V-Day episode and I almost walked away hanging my head in shame. How in the heck does she manage all that???

Yes, but these places are getting national exposure and advertising for basically free. It's alot cheaper to give people free admission then to pay for advertising or public relations.

Yes, it was a little unnatural for Leah to have the whole place to herself, but it was probably easier for the show's producers.

What I found interesting is that the Gosselins live in an area that have so much geared to young children. Young Chefs, that bouncing place and the hands-on children's museum, not to mention Hershey's Park, Dutch Wonderland and the Crayola Factory.

I like the show. The only one who gets on my nerves is Mady.

true, but she's choosing to take those nice things. you watch the credits to the crayola and the following episode and the factory and both the places the individual kids went to donated their admission (as well as the previous zoo, the cooking place...).

and honestly, not to bash-but how does she figure that the individual little girl was experiencing what it was like to be out on an outing with your parents 'just like an ordinary only child' when they they say that the place was nice enough to arrange for her to have it 'all to herself'. i mean realy, how many kids single or multiples get to go to a place like that and have it all to themselves and don't have to take turns:rotfl2:

This is absolutey my favorite show. I do not miss it.

I love to watch the every day lives of these guys, and everyone who dogs Kate would probably be the same way in that household:eek: . I love the realness of the show , unlike the oversweet ,perfect Duggers!!

I personally would love to meet her personally with all the kids. Has anyone on the boards met any of them??

I used to think the same until I saw the "behind the scenes" episode. She has a lot more help than she lets on, or I should say than what we see in the regular episodes. She has people come in to fold her laundry and someone else comes in to put the laundry away. She has someone come over daily to help watch the children. If I had someone to fold and put my laundry away, I'd have a lot more free time.

Not passing judgment, just saying don't hang your head in shame.

did anyone else find her comments about aunt jody kind of odd or at least somewhat insulting to other (unseen) family members as well as the friends that help out so much?

IMHO it was probably a dig at the grandparents. If I understand correctly his mother and both her parents live in the area and are totally uninvolved in the lives of the children.

Ooooooohhhhh. I haven't seen that. I'll walk with my head held high now.

What was the Aunt Jody comment? I must have missed that.

Kate said something like Aunt Jody loves the kids for who they are and not what they are.

I like the comment - I thought it was a compliment to Jody, but I definitely would love to know what the deal is with the maternal grandparents...

And, how many kids have cameras constantly following them around?

(Don't get me wrong - I love this show! The kids are just so darn cute!)

I thought it was so funny how Aaden was burping, and how it was driving Kate crazy.

Yeah, she acts like she is a matryr who is doing all on her own but she gets a LOT of help still. I know one lady comes and folds all their laundry for them.

I also noticed that Jon seems to get a lot of time off. He was able to go to the jumping place on a weekday and to the museum (though I'm not sure that was a weekday). Plus the vacations. Coming from someone who is lucky to get 10 weekdays off a year for personal use (not sick) it seems like a lot.

Jon's new job gives him more flexibility to work from home. So, he's not really taking any time off. Just rearranging his schedule.

Ah, that makes sense. I knew he got a new job but didn't remember that part.

Boounce U is not like a Chuck E Cheese where it is opened to the public all the time. In fact, there are not a lot of times a week where you can just show up with your kid. It was very easy for them to have the place to themselves! Oh that Leah is so cute!

Isn't she adorable?

My husband was working on a report in the living room last night while I was watching the shows I had taped. I caught him many, many times watching it. The other times, he was looking at his keyboard saying, "I'd kill myself", or "I'd be at a bar drinking".

Good thing he only had one. :scared:

Oh - Leah's our favorite! Watching her talk in that oversized "interview" chair inthe last episode - too cute!

the kids ARE cute. i enjoyed when they did a little run down on each kid and their individual personalities and quirks. though i did :rotfl2: and then:scared1: when they were talking about one of the boys (who kate commented was the most like jon which jon agreed with) and then kate said something about how someday some woman will marry him just for his looks and then find out he can't do anything and will have to learn to deal with it (then she gave a look over to jon who sort of fidgeted and rolled his eyes).
