Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

Do you go to the one in Winter Park? I looked it up online after reading about it on this thread (have not seen the show in a month or two) and plan to take my son there in December, when he will be 4.

No, we're currently just outside Tampa, so we go to the one in Valrico/Bloomingdale. The owner of our location also has the rights to open one in Lakeland and we are crossing our fingers that she opens that one in the next year.

I'll be honest, you may get a little bit of sticker shock for one class. Kevin's enrolled in the Chef's club, so there's a little bit of a price break. I look at it as fostering a passion of his and also investing in the future. When he goes off to college, he definitely won't be eating ramen noodles!

Personally, I'm hopeful that Kate keeps the girls in Young Chef's. They'd love helping out in the kitchen, it gives a great boost to self confidence. Another plus is that you've got math, science and reading happening through the hands on and reading of recipes.

Logistically, it's probably hard with all the kids, but if they like different activities, Mady and Cara should have at least ONE thing to call their own. If that happens, a lot of the drama Mady causes would probably stop happening.

I really liked the Valentine's Day episode last night. It was nice to see Mady actually nice and happy for a change. I laughed so hard at the part where Kate was talking about how the twins were upset that they had to mess up their American Girl doll bed to find the clue, yet they never make their own beds. The sexteplets are just so cute. I loved when they were playing with the playdough and Aeden was eating his. I also liked how Alexis was carrying her alligator around then there was a small one in her Valentine's day pouch. That was cute.

I watched too. I wonder if it just dawned on them to get new carpet? You think they would have waited to get that new furniture for the kids, the piano etc, til after they got the carpet!

I just keep thinking, this is SO much work to get that beautiful new carpet in, only to sell the house! But thats what you gotta do though. Boy, I would love that huge house, but they must think its shrinking on them. LOVE this show. I wish there were more episodes.

There are lots of new episodes coming. There will be I think at least 3 episodes where they take each of the sextuplets for a one-on-one outing. I know there is also an upcoming episode where Jon and Kate take ballroom dancing lessons. So there are quite a few new episodes still to come.

Thanks for the response! Sticker shock is my middle name, btw...lol. My son is/has been in sooooooooo many classes and activities over the past 3 years, it would make your head spin! I happily shell out the dough for this stuff, because I, too, see it as an important part of his overall development and education...plus quite practical, in some cases. He is the type of kid who just eats it up, too. If he were shy or reluctant, I'd adjust accordingly. But I know he'll enjoy participating, and have a great time!

The Valentine's episode was probably one of my favourites. It was nice to view an episode without a parade of nannies or yet one more free thing.

Also, it was nice to see Jon say a few mean things because I really do believe they treat each other the same, they just show more of Kate's crankiness.

And of course, the kids are so darn cute:goodvibes

Does anyone know where Kate found the Valentines bags she attached to the chairs? I loved them and would love to get some. TIA!!!

Pretty sure they're from Pottery Barn Kids. Not sure if they still have them though. Good luck.

I have to say again that I think Jon and Kate are so stinkin' cute with each other, even with the bickering. I just think they are a really neat couple.

I agree!:thumbsup2 And,might I add, I thought Jon was looking pretty adorable in last night's episodes!

Did you see when Jon brought Kate the roses and he did that little playful kitty roar? That was cute.

Good show last night. I'm sorry, I hate play-doh. I cannot stand the smell of it. Leave it to Kate to find a different recipe to make. Then she made the comment, "please don't e-mail me for the recipe.":lmao: I still gagged when Aiden started eating it. For some reason play-doh just turns my stomache, no matter how it is made.

I totally agree. But I bet that stuff Kate made smelled pretty good...honey and peanut butter...yummy!!

Me too! I just love this family! Jon and Kate are too cute together!! Last night, I had to stop watching Dancing with the Stars to turn on Jon and Kate Plus 8. :thumbsup2

The play-doh made me want to look it up..

Edible Play dough

1/2 C peanut butter
1/2 C honey
1 C powdered milk

Just throw it all together and mush it up with your hands until its fairly smooth. The oils from the peanut butter will keep it from sticking to the table and the kids' hands.

Kate said she added some flour to it also to make it firmer...

those kids are so cute. it's good to seen an episode without all of the screaming and fighting (the valentine's episode). the twins seemed to really have a good time. they're so much fun to watch.

Does anyone have any idea what bag he bought her in the V- Day episode?
