Thank you kindly!:goodvibes

Does this mean they'll be no action on this thread until the new episodes air? Will I have to give 100% of my time and attention to my own family now?
never! there are still episodes I haven't seen yet ;)

but they're old episodes .. things have changed in Gosselin-land since many of the shows were filmed, so any opinion will be outdated. :rotfl:

I "get" Kate's excitement about Jon asking her "what can I do to help?". I am going to relate it to my husband. He is great. We farm together and he helps around the house more since we stopped milking BUT so often I have to ask for help. Now to me that feels like nagging especially if I have to remind him. It doesn't happen very often that he asks me "What can I do to help?" and when it does I am so appreciative.

I love this show - I admire Kate and Jon , I love watching the kids. I find the show inspirational and full of faith.

I totally get Kate's excitement over Jon asking too. My DH can also be very helpful with the kids. I totally get where Kate is coming from when things are getting stressfull with the kids and she wants Jon to help instead of standing back and watching her go into melt down mode. This is exactly what my DH does. :scared: I think I actually quoted Kate one night in the midst of our arguing about something, that it would be far more beneficial to everyone, if he simply asked what can I do to help instead of watching the chaos insue and me turn into a she-devil. :maleficen

Some day he'll get it. Men are just slow. Did Kate say that too? Sometimes I think she must be my long lost sister. We are so alike.

Has anyone here ever been to Sight and Sound? It looked more elaborate than a Broadway production! I think I'd like to go, but wanted to know if if is as good as it looks on television.

My mom has wanted to go there forever. She actually asked a few months ago so we're going in November to their Christmas show. It looks awesome.

I get it too. I hate having to always ask,beg or nag my husband to do something. When he takes the initiative to ask me what I need, it totally makes me excited and instantly less stressed.

I don't think that Kate gives Jon enough credit for what he DOES do, though. Doesn't he get the kids up every morning because she is not a "morning person"?

I think he does plenty. Doesn't matter though as he's doomed to a life of never being good enough because of Kate's issues and desire for perfection at all times.

I agree. He does so much in that family. I wonder if she ever asks him if he needs help with anything.

I thought the Sight and Sound episode was cute. I like when they put the kids in the interview chair. I can't wait to see the Hawaii episode. I think November is the start of the new season.

Jon DOES do alot -- so does Kate. Just because Jon gets the kids ready in the morning or does baths at night doesn't mean he gets a free pass for the rest of the day. I think Jon comes across as a typical husband/father: is very good at doing what he is told; but doesn't often take the initiative to offer to do more. And, in that house, with 8 kids, I'm sure there's ALWAYS alot more that can be done! Again, I could totally relate to Kate's excitement over his offer to help; instead of him being told what to do.

The Disney episode was on last night. With the exception of Kate's "freak-out" over the ice cream, I really like that episode. They're all so giddy, silly and excited -- and we get to see a little of our beloved WDW!:lovestruc

Oh my goodness I cannot believe this many people watch this show!! My husband thinks I am the only one glad to know I am not alone! I think that it is really easy to judge people when you are not in there shoes. I love them all. And have come to realize this is a highly edited show and obviously they are a happy couple have you seen how pleasant there kids are. I sure wouldn't want a camera following me around all of the time. I willing to bet there would be some embarrassing moments! They work really well as a couple and have a very similar relationship to my DH and I:hug:

My daughter has got me watching America's Next Top Model. It is the most "obviously" edited show on TV. My daugters and I have an almost perfect record in predicting who will get booted each week for the last two cycles because of the editing of the girls' comments, etc. This poor editing has helped me to teach my daughters that even though these are "reality" shows, the "reality" is very easily edited to prove a point, show someone's bad side, etc.

uh huh, and the baths and on and on. He even is in charge of taking her car to fill it with gas when it is low. She can't even do that. She said that is a mans job. Hmmm? and bathing babies wouldn't be considered a womans job?

I didn't see a show there, but I have seen the facilities. It's very impressive, and much nicer than most Broadway theaters. How cool would it be for Disney to do a production there!

I've often thought the same thing!

I saw part of the WDW episode last night. Tuned in just in time for the ice cream fiasco  I noticed something in watching last night that I hadn't paid any attention to before... HOW Kate fed them the ice cream. She spooned the ice cream out, and scraped the back of the spoon on the back of the cup ... the same way my friend spooned out baby food to her 1-year-old yesterday morning. It really struck me, for some reason. I mean, these are preschoolers (and I know the ice cream was messy, it was hot and sunny that day) and she was feeding/treating them like babies.

She also shared the spoon among the kids. I know that isn't unusual, but I thought it was a little gross. That's not something (as a parent) that I do. I know it's unavoidable sometimes, though. Same with sharing drinks.

I actually USED TO like this show. But it has become too much for me. I HATE Kate's attitude towards the kids (which at times..she is just mean). And the vacations and new crap all the time. COME ON! Very unrealistic and we are losing the genuine view into the REAL life of a family with twins and sextuplets. AND THAT MADE ME SO MAD..the ice cream issue at Disney World!!:headache:
They have hired help, they have people doing thier laundry, they have people playing with their kids, they have people cooking their meals. Kate can't work..b/c she has to be with the kids. What is left for kate to do? Besides complain about more things that are bothering her in hopes that a company will hear and ask her to use thier product on tv for free. Or solicite something for more moola.

I've always found that ice cream scene to be really puzzling. And I wonder if it was a case of the producers "setting up" a situation to make for good television.

I mean, really - whose idea was it to bring the ice cream out at that time? Right as the kids are meeting the princesses? And while they're standing out in the middle of the hot sun? You do see CMs holding trays with the cups of ice cream but I can't imagine it was THEIR idea to choose that particuliar moment to treat everyone to free ice cream. Just nothing about it made sense to me!

ITA..... IMHO if Kate had ordered the icecream she would have planned it out including bringing extra outfits

or at the very least, bibs? I agree with the screwy-ness of the whole thing.

PS. I would have had extra outfits for the kids, though. I carried an extra outfit in our WDW backpack for DD until she was 4.

PPS. I'm surprised WDW didn't provide them with clean clothes, because they're so nice that way.... seriously. I've read many accounts on the DIS of kids getting sick on Mission Space or something, and a CM appears with a clean shirt.

I'm not sure. Let us not forget the bakery in church clothes because she "didn't want to change a bazillion kids."

I cringe at the Disney episode. The heat, the cameras, the cm's following, I couldn't take it. When I see it I think of the pp on this thread whose daughter did the twins bippiddi- boppidi makeover and how that footage didn't quite make the cut!
