My point is, you should really compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. The big bonuses are for professional actors who are trained and paid to memorize and perform a script.
Jon and Kate are regular people who want to document their lives, per their own statements. People who work on documentaries usually aren't paid or are paid very little. If the show is scripted and they are considered actors, then their children fall in the same category. Which means that there are strict rules for child actors.
They can't have it both ways. I could give a flying fig if they get paid or not, but to compare them to real actors is a bit much, don't you think?
