I am not defending Jon at all, but Radar Online is not the best source for real news stories.
Great comparison.
no, really. RadarOnline is owned (or vice versa) by the National Enquirer!
DUH, sorry I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.DUH, sorry I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

.Well, this is interesting. Actually it's always interesting to hear Kate talk about the cameras in her kid's lives. Words straight from her mouth, not an unnamed 'source' too. It sounds like she's really trying to paint a happy picture with the relationship between her kids and the crew. Heck, even the production assistants babysit for her.

Kate Gosselin "Very Happy" to Put Cameras Back in Front of Children
Kate Gosselin says she is glad to have her old camera crew back with her children to film a series of specials for TLC's Kate Plus 8.
"I am very happy I was able to put that back in their lives and there is nothing negative about it," Gosselin said during a Today show interview on Friday. "I love our crew. The cameras are on, and I love them. And the cameras are off, and they're helping me around the house. ... They are family. Production assistants come and babysit my kids sometimes even."
Kate also addressed her relationship with ex-husband Jon Gosselin since he filed for custody of the couple's eight children in April.
"He's dropped the custody battle," the Dancing with the Stars alum said. "At this very moment, things are peaceful. He's amicable at this very moment. I never know when that's going to change. I worry everyday where we're going to be."
Though Gosselin says she's not ready to date, she says she's been forced to deal with Jon's new relationships because of the children.
"You know, it's hard. [The kids] come home and I have to discuss things, " Gosselin said. "They ask me questions where his girlfriends are concerned, and it's just a situation I have to deal with with them."

Quick! Name one person in the lives the Gosselin children who is not paid to be there!
Can't do it, huh?![]()
We don't know if her parents, or sisters come to visit. If they do, maybe they have stipulations that they do not want to be filmed or photographed.
Kara went away last weekend to sleep at someone elses house. Maybe it was one/on/one with a grandma or aunt. The paps didn't know, they just showed Kate blowing kisses to her leaving. No car or vehicle was shown.
I agree we shouldn't call it the original name Jon and Kate Plus 8, but it should be called something similar. We could go with the other thread, but I have a feeling it could get ugly over there once the show starts. Way back, I think 3 years ago, I started this thread and there was another thread about the Gosselins, and it got shut, because of all the bickering. I would really hate for that to happen, and then I couldn't have the guilty pleasure discussing the show.
I thought it was 15% of the earnings had to go into the kids accounts..so if the show earned $1000, $150 would go into the kids accounts. I would assume that was pretax, so it would be less. I also thought that that money can be used for education and maybe even medical (I can't remember what else, was it housing? That doesn't seem right), so that money, as well as the money the parents said they already were saving (TLC said it was more than 15%, but who knows) can be used before the kids reach whatever age they said it had to be to be used by them.Is it 15% of earnings per child? I should be!! I hope they change that wording to provide per individual child.

If PA is trying to do some version of the Coogan law--it would be 15% of each child's earnings...NOT the entire earnings hte family receives for doing a show.
As it stands--like it or not...if the sextuplets are working, so is Kate and she is entitled to receive a paycheck from TLC just as they are. She doesn't nor shouldn't be expected to contribute 15% of her salary for the kids.
Billy Ray Cyrus receives an independent check from Miley Cyrus for his activity on Hannah Montana--he is not expected to contribute 15% to Miley as that is not the purpose of the Coogan Law. It is to protect the earnings of the minor.
My understanding--is that PA is requiring 15% of the kids' earnings to be put in trust. It doesn't make sense any other way. ETA: This also means that the other 85% is unprotected to the point that Kate can use (or sadly not use) it on the kids. She can use it for anything that benefits the kids, including but not limited to their education, clothing, etc.

So, would that mean that TLC would have to decide how much pay is actually the kids? I guess I thought there was one paycheck and 15% had to be the kids accounts. I also thought that 15% could be used for certain things, like education. What TLC agreed to do now..I'm not talking about whatever new legislation might get passed. Won't know what that will be until it's passed and settled.
