I am sure that most of you kow that I am no fan of Kate. However, I do understand where she is coming from in this case. I am a SAHM, can't bare the thought of leaving my kids with someone else.

Today, well, lets just say the Switzerland almost got 3 new students in their boarding schools. They were killing me with the fighting.

And, I'm sure tomorrow will be a new day and either a nice calm day or a new *fight*. ;) But, because you chose to share this little part of your life/motherhood with us, should anyone hold this against your mothering skills??? I'm sure everyone will agree with a great big NO!

And yet that's what we tend to want to do with Kate: "Oh my gosh, she let's those children run wild--fighting and letting them settle things for themselves!" Or "Yeah, she said she wants to send them away to Switzerland to boarding school and never, ever see them again!! Can you believe that??"

I realize she is putting herself out there for all to see and all to approve or disapprove of but, really, I'm sure most of us less than perfect parents can sympathize at least a little with the things in her/their lives.

under different circumstances, maybe I would.

but, Kate's blog is written as a PR tool, to maintain the spotlight on her as the publicity builds before the premiere of her new shows. It's not an accident that Us Weekly picked it up and ran a story on it.

and this is why I don't sympathize with Kate.

I'm supposed to believe, that after 6 years, Kate is doing something without help? There are no nannies, production assistants, camera crews, etc? Right. :lmao:

Don't insult my intelligence, or the intelligence of the other viewers. It's widely documented that Kate has help. Write it into the story, don't pretend it's something it's not.

I think your beef would be with TLC, since I'm pretty sure they would have written that. I just took it to mean that Jon is gone and he's not there to help with moral support and the actual putting of the food in front of the kids (I think he used to do that while she dished it up)...unless she let the help go for the day and she's going to give it a try on her own. But no matter how it's taken, why would this insult anyone's intelligence unless you had been believing she didn't have help? She freely admits she has help.
I just laugh when I see this stuff written up, which is supposed to make people want to watch. Actually, if on that day she is doing it all, I'm sure some will watch just to see if she pulls it off, and talk all about how they would have done it better :rotfl2:. That's what I'm going to do!

if that's the case? they did that with last year's birthday party.

ITA. Didn't Kate pull the kids out of school last year around this time, when they went to that Ocean side home in the Carolina's? Madie and Kara stayed a week, and went back with a nanny and stayed with Jon. I think Kate stayed on another week with the 6 at the beach and she filmed with the girls seperately, and then the boys. This is when everyone noticed Steve was with them. So I am sure TLC sent them to Orlando and Kate probably had some imput what she wanted to do and see. And I'm sure something will go wrong, otherwise it wouldn't have that kind of heading.

Nah, I think the article means she's w/o Jon. It is Kate+8. And she's technically a single mom--whether she has help or nannies or not. I do not think you're *supposed* to believe there's no one around. I think that's reading more into the article than you should. I think it means Jon's not on the show.

Kate would be crazy to go to Orlando without help with 8 kids. I've taken 3 before and I wanted help!

She did pull them out last year and go to the beach (NC, I think). Then she sent the twins home to Jon and she stayed with the 6.

Maybe they took them to Universal for Harry Potter? Or WDW---I'd love to see WDW anything! lol

I just thought of something,
will Kate be on the television circuit programs, promoting her new shows?
It was wierd that she promoted her book, the week she was on Dancing With the Stars". Why didn't she wait, till after she was kicked off.

then if that's the case? they've already done it. Kate spent how many episodes before JK8 went off the air telling us how she's doing everything alone (without Jon)? They were off the air all this time and that's the best concept for a show TLC could come up with?

So, does that mean we shouldn't believe it, or that it's how she feels? So is it a bad thing she said what she did, or a good thing? I thought US Weekly wasn't on her side. So if they aren't, is TLC glad they ran it, or not? I have to admit I'm confused about if this is a PR thing, then why would it be written to make some think she isn't happy being with her arguing kids?

Again, I think your beef would be with TLC, if they advertise the show is about her doing it all on her own. But in any case, like you said, it's just PR, doesn't mean squat to me. Those who want to watch the show won't care if she has help or doesn't. I really just don't give much thought to if she is doing it all, some of it, none of it. I guess I just don't care either way.

Maybe she didn't have a choice as to when it would be out. Promotion is usually when the book is released.

Is that Kate in the swimming pool with Buddy and the others promoting her new show? They don't do as nice a close up as they do with Buddy, so I can't tell.

I'm with you, this is what happened last birthday. "Feeding the kids all alone for the first time"? That's their theme and their stickin' to it! :lmao:

Was that the theme, or the write up about that birthday? Jon showed up at the last birthday..isn't that shortly before it became official?

Maybe TLC needs new writers for the show segments.

Virtually all press is good press. That's been said many times. I've seen as many pro articles written in Us Weekly as anti articles. And not just Us Weekly, but People, RadarOnline, etc. Gosselin stories sell. Period. Is TLC glad this particular story ran? No idea. Why do I think it's PR? If Kate is having trouble parenting the children, people might tune in to see her blow up.

While I'm not a Kate fan, I've always had a beef with TLC. And I think it's horrendous that the children are back on the air and even worse that they're showing up in all the media surrounding the show. There was a pic one day recently with one of the boys unhappy to have his picture taken. Yet Kate trudges on.

Lucky kids, though... 2 Disney Parks in just a few weeks!

I keep reading that in the comment sections of articles. I was surprised the paps got that close. Often they use zoom cameras. I was curious if he put his coat over his face because he didn't want his pics taken, or because maybe he was upset about something and covered his face because he was crying. I'm doing lots of supposing, I know, but I wonder why everyone is saying he covered so as to not have his picture taken. Usually they don't seem to notice, or care.

maybe he finally started to care.
