But how do the other people in line know that the one getting to go in front of the line paid for the vip?

Respectfully--that is completely their problem.

You'll see often on these boards that you'll get someone posting in a tizzy b/c their vacation was ruined b/c of XYZ. Either they didn't know this, or they didn't know that, or that's not fair b/c there was some shorter line that got to get on the ride before they did (FP).

Things are available prety much to most everyone (except that secret restaurant at Disneyland and even then it is--it just has a multi-year membership waiting list). If they are going to get upset b/c they were not in the know or they did not have the money to patronize such services--it really is their problem. Kate or no Kate--it's been going on for years.

ETA: As stated, tehy may not have even paid for it b/c it was ABC--but in some way shape or form, it was "paid" even if not by Kate directly.

Just googled them....
interesting. I know Faith Hope Joy are something--but fruits they are not all. :)

•love (agape);
•joy (chara);
•peace (eirene);
•patience (makrothumia);
•kindness (chrestotes);
•goodness (agathosune);
•faithfulness (pistis);
•gentleness (prautes);
•self-control (egkrateia

But I've heard of Faith Joy Hope from somewhere--maybe it was talked about somehere in her upbringing...but I can't myself recollect what they might be.

Faith, Hope, Grace, Chastity are the virtues.

They were popular names during colonial times because the colonists were struggling so badly at first and relied on their faith in God and named their daughters after the virtues that were going to help them get through tough times.

I think the 4 Christian virtues are Faith, Hope, Love and Charity (1st Cor 13 something). Although Chastity would be nice for some people to see as important! :laughing: (I'm around teenagers alot).
Charity may have been fitting for a Gosselin name too. Just kidding, people.
Again the girls middle names are Joy, Faith and Hope. Not virtues or fruits of the spirits!

You are right. And yes we did.;) Tom did offer a group hug as an alternative to the final dance.
Unfortunatley everyone just stood there! :confused: When asked where her inner strength, drive, stems from, she said "it's who I am." No parents, no nothing mentioned or there for her. I thought it was sad. She talks about nobody but her kids (aka 8 little friends). That's alot of pressure.
In the book she tells one of the boys he's the man of the house now and has to protect her and his sisters or something like that. Okay Ma Ingalls!

I guess she forgot about her Christian persona. :confused3 oh well, she has 8 kids to stand on.

I don't think I have seen a final segment where everyone does not come down to say goodbye. The whole thing with letting her talk and then they just stand there alone was very strange. It felt uncomfortable to me.

Yes, it was bizarre. ALso, I thought it was bizarre how hard she took it. She was already looking teary and a mess early in the show when they said she was in the bottom two. Did she really think that she was going to last much longer? I mean, even most people voting for her just to watch the train wreck continue have more of a heart than making her go to the end. IMO she was blubbering past the point of what a professional (is she an entertainment professional? what is she a pro at? ) should act like. I mean, did she think she deserved to be there still? If she was professional, she would have sat there with a smile saying how she was so honored to have lasted that long and she wished everyone the best. She did say something like "Everyone here is doing a great job" but she said it in her "authoritative , listen to me, Kate speaks , you listen voice, I'm giving you a complement, yu should feel honored voice" that is just annoying.

I thought Tony had a very relieved look when they announced their names. At least, he didn't look upset or disappointed.

That is really a low blow. The real truth about the "Kate Phenomena" is not how bad it makes her look, but rather how bad and mean it makes all of us look. Why in the world people can say mean things "on line" that they would never say in person should be a warning to us all. We may look all pretty on the outside, but the "mean spirit" inside is alive and well. This all pretty much makes me sick at my stomach.

Oh, I forgot Charity. I thought chastity and Patience were virtues too. At least I know they were all Colonial names as well. Hmm, off to google.

And I thought he looked disappointed. Expecting it, but disappointed. I think all of us saw what we thought we would see. Although it does mean he gets to spend time (I assume) with his own children that he has been missing.

She isn't a professional..we've certainly said that enough on this thread LOL. She looked exhausted and while she cries easy (and so do I, I hate that about me, so emotional) that may have played a part. Add to that that I do think she thought she had enough fans to pull it off for a while yet, and, well, it's the ending I expected from her.

Mikki, while I agree it's a lot of judging about someone we don't know (especially not well enough IMO to judge her Christianity, lest we be judged), you really have to grow a thicker skin to be on a Kate and Jon thread. I understand what you are saying, but it is what it is on this type of thread. Sometimes I have to just move onto the next post.

You can tell who paid for the VIP tour by the tour guides uniforms. Go back and look at the pics of Kate and crew at DL on radarline and you will see the plaid uniforms. They also wear these at WDW. Once you know what they are, you'll notice them in every park, at least several days during a week long trip.

It doesn't really matter whether it is low season or high. People who have the $$$ to pay for a tourguide use them to get the most out of a trip that they may not want or have time to research for themselves. Probably for a lot of us, WE'RE our friends and families tour guides :laughing: .

When my sister goes, she knows nothing except the name of the park--she has me do everything and she just follows me around. She doesn't even want to learn about the parks. So for those type of people or for a celebrity, they offer VIP tours. I'm sure it is a great service.

I heard about the results this morning while at work and just finished watching the show. Kate did say she had a wonderful teacher which was nice and well deserved for Tony.

For me I guess she just came across as the "fans can carry me" rather than actually improving her dancing. Pretty much all the stars at some point in the interviews all point out their mistakes or mis-steps etc and all have said what they would do differently, Kate never did that IIRC. I think she always fell back on saying she did the best she could. And if that's the case then you can't be surprised that you're in the bottom two.

Also- did anyone else notice that when Carrie Ann talked about Kate before the elimination that she called her a "housewife" That could not have been easy to hear.

yeah, cause she is not a wife anymore. Bad choice.

Look, I think Kate was soooo bad of a dancer she didn't even know how to get better. Truly, I think she did her best and it was terrible and she could just NOT learn to dance. Nothing wrong with that--does not make her a bad person for not knowing or being able to learn to dance I hope because I stink at dancing. ;)

It was strange. As she was so upset, to keep interviewing her seemed meaner than to have switched to a final dance or even a pre-recorded package. Who knows.

I thought Tony was his usual gentlemanly self, saying all the right things. Did you notice Maksim's face in the background though? Tony will be back in the next weeks doing the pro demonstrations. I wonder whether Kate will be coming back for the final dance montage when they announce the winner. Isn't it the same day as the court date for the custody hearing, or did I dream that?

I will agree with this. Kate made a lot of money from supportive and generous people of faith. She also (usually) makes it a point to acknowledge her faith and gratitude for what God has provided her with (her healthy children etc.)

maybe not. It is possible that Kate has been trained by TLC through the years not to discuss her faith in interview settings.

one of the similarities of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and whatevernumber Kids and Counting is that the earliest shows highlight the Gosselins and Duggars faith traditions (not their specific religion, so to speak) much more than the later shows. I don't know why TLC prefers to grow the shows that way, but they do.

yeah, and she's never in her house.

:thumbsup2 (We need to stop agreeing..not good for either of our images LOL).

Housewife :rotfl2::rotfl:

Good point, as usual. I don't think they did her any favors letting her talk though!

Yes, I agree. I'm sure they ate it up..more for us to talk about, and again, those ratings. Most of the headlines this morning mention her crying. (gesh, now I'm agreeing with you..what's up with all this agreeing?). DWTS prob hoped she'd say something really stupid, like please please, for the kids give me another chance, to bring in more ratings LOL.
